Gardens Victoria is Canada’s Garden City and draws garden enthusiasts from all over the world who come to see the resplendent beauty of the public and private gardens, flowering plum and cherry trees and flower baskets cascading from downtown lamp-posts. Whale and Wildlife Viewing — The waters surrounding Vancouver Island are home to some amazing marine wildlife. Almost 100 orcas (killer whales) live off Victoria's coastline and are the focus of thrilling wildlife tours, especially between May and October.

Minke, grey and humpback whales may also be sighted, along with many bird species. From September to May, California and Stellar sea lions are frequently in these waters. Porpoises and harbour seals are seen year-round.
