Project Update
FM 423 Green Ribbon Landscaping The contractor has started construction, and they are currently installing the concrete mow strips that will define the various planting areas.
U.S. HWY 380 The contractor is scheduled to start the project later this month. TxDOT is planning to send representatives to the January 18 Council meeting to provide an update and answer any questions. Staff will also be attending regular progress meetings to receive updates throughout the construction process.

Project Update
Town Hall Remodel The second-floor remodel project is wrapping up, and the contractor is installing the final storefront glass and doorways. Staff is beginning to move back into the space, and we anticipate having it open to the public later this month. The first-floor expansion phase is also progressing. The contractor is currently installing the structural steel and roofing.
The Lawn at The Lakefront™ The project design is completed, and we are preparing to release the project to contractors for bidding. We anticipate having the project under construction this quarter.

Project Update
Cottonwood Park The design for the project is complete, and we are awaiting final approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers before releasing the project for bids. We are anticipating construction starting in late Spring.
Ballfields The contractor has begun the demolition and excavation work within the infield areas. The first delivery of synthetic turf is expected in early February, and we anticipate the project’s completion by the end of February.

SPOTLIGHT
My name is Jennifer Eusse and I started as the Development Specialist in November. Prior to working with the EDC, I was the Special Events Manager for the City of Denton. I was also a former business owner in Denton County for seven years. I owned a competitive cheerleading gym from 2007 – 2014 called Dynasty Cheer Academy. I attended Navarro College where I was a collegiate cheerleader. I also attended University of North Texas and have a degree in Business Administration. I live in Oak Point with my husband and our 9-year-old daughter. My husband and I have been married 13 years. I love the summer months; my favorite thing to do is go out on the boat. I also volunteer for LEAYSA Cheer in the fall for my daughters cheer team.
My name is Wilson Haynes and I started as the Aquatics Supervisor - Guest Services in November. Previously, I worked for The City of Frisco, in their Parks and Recreation Department, as an Education Outreach Coordinator. I love exploring new things around the DFW area, I’m a huge Mean Green fan and avid guitar player.

Sales Tax Update The Town received a distribution for the month of December 2021 from the State Comptroller’s office in the amount of $978,114.45. This sales tax distribution is for reported sales for the month of October and represents our first sales tax distribution for our 2022 budget. October 2021 taxable sales reflects an increase of 22.26 percent or $178,109 from the October taxable sales last year. The FY 2022 budgeted sales tax revenue reflected a 4 percent increase over last year’s actuals/estimates. The Town’s reported sales tax revenue is off to a great start and is over FY 2022 projected budgeted sales tax revenue by 17.56 percent. Statewide, the Comptroller’s office reported that sales tax collections year to date are up by 18.4 percent for December 2021 sales tax revenue compared to December 2020 and year to date up by 14.5 percent.
