Project Update
FM 423 Green Ribbon Landscaping Installation of concrete mow strips continues. Additionally, work has begun on the irrigation system.
U.S. HWY 380 TxDOT is currently implementing the first phase of traffic control for the project. Traffic will be shifted to the north side of U.S. 380 to allow construction of the new southern portion.

Town Hall Remodel The 2nd floor remodel project is very near completion. Staff have moved upstairs and the lobby is open to the public. There are just a few punch list items remaining to be addressed. Progress on the 1st floor continues. Exterior brick work is being installed and the old exterior wall will be demolished in the next couple of weeks. Construction on the council chambers renovations will also be starting in the next three weeks.
The Lawn at The Lakefront™ The Lawn is currently out for bid until February 7. We are scheduled to award the project at the second council meeting in February.

Cottonwood Park While we are still waiting for approval from the Army Corps of Engineers, we are working to purchase play ground equipment early in order to avoid future price increases.
Ballfields The fields are excavated, graded, and the liners are being installed. Turf installation will begin shortly.

My name is Beth Peterson and I started as the Police Records Custodian in December. I was in the medical field for 30 years. Twenty five of those years I lived in Ohio where I was born and raised. I worked at our local Hospital for nine years as a Secretary/Medical Assistant and then started at a Trauma/General Surgeon’s office as Office Manager/Medical Assistant for over 14 years. I moved to Texas in October 2016 after a friend offered a new start for me. I worked at Lexa Records in Southlake for a year and then worked at Horizon Medical Center in Denton where I was an Office Manager for the Outpatient Wound Care Clinic before starting a new career path with Little Elm Police Department. I live in Denton with my husband, Jason whom I married in October 2020.I have two sons (30 and 24), a stepdaughter (17), and a stepson (16). We enjoy tent camping, trail walks, and exploring Texas as much as we can.
My name is Marcella Cisneros and I started as the Assistant Aquatics Manager in January. My career includes overseeing sports, fitness, aquatics and special events programs as a coordinator and director for the last twenty years including in university and military settings. I earned my Masters Degree at the University of Arkansas in Recreation and Bachelors Degree at the University of Northern Colorado in Recreation. I currently reside in Denton with my cat. I enjoy watching the latest movies, travelling and anything fitness related!

Sales Tax Update The Town received a distribution for the month of January 2022 from the State Comptroller’s office in the amount of $1,088,670.63. This sales tax distribution is for reported sales for the month of November and represents our second sales tax distribution for our 2022 budget. November 2021 taxable sales reflects an increase of 29.86 percent or $250,344 from the November taxable sales last year. The FY 2022 budgeted sales tax revenue reflected a 4 percent increase over last year’s actuals/estimates. The Town’s reported sales tax revenue is over FY 2022 projected budgeted sales tax revenue by 21.3 percent. Statewide, the Comptroller’s office reported that sales tax collections year to date are up by 26.8 percent for January 2022 sales tax revenue compared to January 2021.
