The Lawn at The Lakefront™

Contractor is performing earthwork and moisture conditioning for the amphitheater.

Lakeside Youth Sports Complex

The foundations for concessions and restroom buildings are in place. Site work continues but has had weather related delays over the past several weeks.

Lakefront Screening Wall, Behind Palladium

The grade beam has been poured and the contractor has constructed a portion of the wall.

King Rd Construction

The necessary easements have been acquired and our consultant is designing drainage options for the western portion of the project.

US HW 380

TxDOT is pouring concrete for the roadway widening. They are performing nightly lane closures on the outside eastbound lane to accommodate construction.

Update

Christmas Parade & Annual Tree Lighting

The Town of Little Elm Christmas parade will begin at 6 p.m. on December 3, with the tree lighting immediately following the parade. Stick around for the best winter fireworks show in Texas, and stay for fun and festivities at Lights on The Lake.

Lights on the Lake

Along with an incredible light show, Lights on The Lake will offer pictures with Santa, a hot air balloon glow, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, and an ice skating rink. This 24-nights-of-lights event will also have food trucks, vendors, and many Instagrammable spots perfect for your holiday pictures.This event will feature entertainment such as live music and dance performances. In addition, each weekend will include themes such as Frozen featuring Anna and Elsa, The Grinch, The Elf on the Shelf, Santa, and a chance to take pictures with The Big Guy!

Over the next several months, Town representatives will be hosting Town Halls in each Council District. This is an opportunity for residents to discuss issues facing their district, get updates on Town projects, and ask Council Representatives and Town team members questions

Upcoming Events

Christmas at The Cove® is Sunday, December 4. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, sip hot chocolate, and enjoy a holiday craft... but watch out for the Grinch, who will be making a special appearance. $5 admission when you bring an unwrapped toy for donation.

The Cove® Holiday Store is Thursday, December 15. Kids ages 3-14 can pick out two gifts to give to their parents - staff will assist picking out the gifts and wrapping them. $10 for members and $20 for non-members. Registration is currently open online.

Sales Tax Update

The Town received a distribution for the month of November 2022 from the State Comptroller’s office in the amount of $1,318,704. This sales tax distribution is for reported sales for the month of September and represents 100 percent of collected sales tax distribution for our 2022 budget. September 2022 taxable sales reflects an increase of 13.86 percent or $160,499 from the September taxable sales last year. The FY 2022 budgeted sales tax revenue reflected a 4 percent increase over last year’s actuals/estimates. The Town’s YTD reported sales tax revenue is over FY 2022 projected budgeted sales tax revenue by 22.40 percent.

Statewide, the Comptroller’s office reported that sales tax collections year to date are up by 15.4 percent for November 2022 sales tax revenue compared to November 2021.
