LEARN TO SWIM
The Cove at the Lakefront® Water Safety and Skill Development Program incorporates water safety in all aquatic environments with the primary focus on lakes and pools. Each class will start with a safety topic discussion and the topic will be re-emphasized through activities during class.
DUCK LEVEL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (3-5 YEARS OLD)
Learn water safety, survival skills, and basic swim movements through instruction, games, and guided exploration. Each program is eight sessions and classes are 30 minutes long.
DUCK LEVEL 1
Entry level with little or no water experience.
Skill Building includes submerging face and head, breath holding, releasing air from the mouth and nose (underwater), opening eyes in water, back and front float, underwater object retrieval (less than three feet), flutter kicks with support of wall or teaching tools, and arm movements (combined and alternating).
DUCK LEVEL 2
Ducks Level 2 prerequisites include submerging the entire face and head for three seconds and relaxed back float with support from instructor or teaching tools.
Ducks Level 2 skill building includes various floats (front, back, jellyfish, and turtle), underwater object retrieval (three feet), flutter and dolphin kicks with support of the wall or teaching tools, arm and leg movements (combined and alternating), and front and back glides.
FISH LEVEL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (6-12 YEARS OLD)
DUCK LEVEL 3
Duck Level 3 prerequisites include all of level 2 prerequisites, front glide with face in the water for eight feet, back glide for eight feet, and back float without support for five seconds.
Ducks Level 3 skill building includes various floats, front and back glides, flutter and dolphin kicks with the support of wall or teaching tools, arm front crawl and back stroke movements, arm and leg movements (combined and alternating), and underwater object retrieval.
Developing and refining swimming and safety skills through instruction, games, activities, and drills. Each program is eight sessions and classes are 45 minutes long.
FISH LEVEL 1
Entry level with little or no water experience.
Skill building includes front and back glides, flutter and dolphin kicks, breath holding (underwater), various floating positions (front, back, jellyfish, and turtle) and bobbing, submerging and opening eyes underwater, releasing air from the mouth and nose (underwater), and arm front crawl and back stroke movements.
FISH LEVEL 2
Fish Level 2 prerequisites include five second front glide with face in water, five second back glide, 10 second back float, and retrieval of an object (three and a half feet deep).
Fish Level 2 skill building includes front crawl with rotary breathing, backstroke, treading and floating, breaststroke arm and leg movements, treading kicks (scissor, breast, and rotary/egg beater), and underwater retrieval of objects (four feet deep).
FISH LEVEL 3
Fish Level 3 prerequisites include all of Level 2 prerequisites, front crawl with rotary breathing for 10 yards, backstroke for 10 yards, float and/or tread for 20 seconds, and retrieval of multiple objects (four feet deep).
Fish Level 3 skill building and refining includes front crawl with rotary breathing, backstroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, treading and floating, pencil dive from the pool deck, in-water surface dives (pike and feet first), and retrieval of multiple objects (eight feet deep).

A membership or day pass is required for The Rec at The Lakefront™, which includes access to the fitness area, group fitness classes, and gymnasium. *Family memberships include up to six immediate family members only. Immediate family members are defined as adult couples and their dependent children up to the age of 23.
LITTLE ELM RESIDENT
Proof of residency documentation (valid state-issued ID) is required for all membership purchases. Residency is determined by Little Elm property tax status. Confirm that you pay Little Elm taxes at www.dentoncad.com.
Individuals assigned to Little Elm ISD but reside outside of Town of Little Elm incorporated limits are non-residents. Residents of Little Elm's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) are non-residents.
KIDZONE
Join the Little Elm Recreation Center for KidZone! KidZone provides a safe and fun place for children ages six months to eight years to play while you exercise. Each day includes fun programming and activities. *Children in KidZone must be a member or purchase a day pass. A Kid Zone day pass is $2.

PARENT'S NIGHT OUT

The Town of Little Elm is excited to partner with Red River Social Sports to offer Adult Athletics in the Little Elm area including Softball, Sand Volleyball, Indoor Volleyball, Kickball, Pickleball and more! Athletics are available for team and free-agent sign ups to help create a fun social outlet for adults in the North Dallas area!
All leagues will be designed to offer people the chance to meet new friends and provide a fun atmosphere to compete. Leagues will also host social events at local restaurants and businesses in order for participants to mingle and interact outside of the normal league night atmosphere. All Youth Athletic leagues are organized by Little Elm Area Youth Sports Association (LEAYSA). LEAYSA is a non-profit, youth sports organization made up of volunteers that help coordinate and promote organized kids sports leagues. They are dedicated to sports education and participation for the youth in Little Elm and surrounding communities. Their goal is to provide a positive sporting experience for children of all ages. The sports currently offered by LEAYSA include baseball, basketball, cheer, football, soccer, softball, track, and volleyball.

Franco Racquet Sports provides lessons and activities that help students learn and improve their tennis game while having fun. We use small group formats and hire the best coaches to make sure students are safe, having fun, and improving.

Daniel enjoys helping clients learn new exercises and teaching them how to properly strength-train. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Tiffany Dufrene
Tiffany is certified in personal strength training, exercise therapy, and yoga. Her background is a mix of high intensity training including CrossFit and Krav Maga. Tiffany moved to Dallas from Louisiana in 2010 and when she’s not working out she’s either wake surfing, paddle boarding, or spending time with family.
Jonathan Carpenter
Jonathan has over eight years of fitness experience as a personal trainer and sports performance coach. He’s worked with youth, adults, and professional athletes. His goal is to critically challenge his clients’ perspectives about fitness through movement, mindset, and accountability. Jonathan has the heart to educate all of his clients so they can gain clarity on how to program workouts.

Elizabeth has been the owner of Inspire U Fitness since 2009. She is passionate about helping others with fitness and achieving their goals. This passion comes from her own transformation and ability to relate. The Rec at The Lakefront™ offers robust fitness programming to appeal to all fitness levels and interests. These classes offer our members an opportunity to make new friends with similar interests and help you create a happier, healthier you. The Group Exercise classes are included with your membership, unless otherwise noted. Children ages 12-14 years must have active adult supervision to attend GroupX classes.

Zumba®. An interval-style dance fitness party that combines low-intensity and high-intensity moves.
Zumba® Gold: A lower-intensity version of the typical Zumba class designed to meet the needs of active adults.
Water Exercise Classes
The Rec at The Lakefront™ and The Cove™ partner to offer a variety of Water Exercise Classes for people of all ages. All Water Exercise programs are included in Rec membership or are $5 for drop in.
Water Aerobics. This low-impact workout uses water resistance and aerobic techniques to get your blood pumping and heart rate up!
Water Walking. This program is self-paced and occurs in the Lazy River.
Lap Swim. Lap Swim takes place in our two lap lanes and is swim at your own pace.

Studio 1 is used for small group training and personal training and, when not booked, can be used by any Rec member 18 or older.

Kid Fish
The pond at McCord Park will be stocked with over 500 pounds of catfish the week of the tournament to ensure a fish-biting good time. Kids ages 16 and younger will be able to fish for free!
Prizes will be given for the largest fish according to age groups, 2-6, 7-11, and 12-16. Kids can fish any time during the event but must be present to win any prizes.
There will be loaner equipment available to anyone who needs it on a first-come, first serve basis.

Tonies & Yoto Players
The Toniebox uses audio storytelling to introduce pre-readers and developing readers to the wonders of narrative long before they can read the words in a book. Tonies are ideal for children ages three and up and the Yoto Player is perfect for older kids. We just added to our collection, be sure to check it out!
Lakefront Discovery STEM Backpacks
Get out, discover, and learn! Check out a backpack and go on an adventure in the parks. Learn about nature, bugs and butterflies, and the beach.
Seed Library
Have a green thumb? Patrons can check out up to eight packets of non-GMO heirloom seeds for six months. After harvest, simply return seeds to the seed library for the next patron to enjoy!

Little Elm is home to award-winning parks and an intricate trail system that provides both residents and visitors a chance to stay active and connected! We maintain our parks and trails with pride and hope that everyone who visits Little Elm can see why we’re the Town With A Lake Attitude!
Beach and Swim Area. The best beach in DFW! Our beach is covered in high-quality sand that is filtered and cleaned daily.

Boat Ramp. A daily pass ($10) or yearly pass ($25/resident; $75/non-resident) can be purchased at the kiosk at the ramp, the Parks Administration office, or The Rec at The Lakefront™.
Johnny Broyles Nature Trail. The trail is at the north end of the park and is perfect for hiking and biking.
Playground. This playground is designed for ages 5-12 and has zip lines, swings, and much more.
Lakefront Grill. A concession building at the beach.
Pavilions & Amphitheater. These amenities are great for parties, events, and family reunions.
Softball Fields. Two softball fields for league play and rentals.
Sand Volleyball. There are ten courts on the beach and two by the playground available for league play and rentals

THE LAWN AT THE LAKEFRONT™
The two-acre park is located in The Lakefront District™, the Town’s destination district of restaurants, retail, and recreation amenities.
The Lawn™ sits under the Town’s historic water tower, nicknamed The Tin Man, and includes a half-acre open lawn, which is open to the public. The performance stage features a pavilion for small concerts and other programming such as movie nights and holiday events.
The park also features a space perfect for food trucks and farmers markets.
The playground equipment has two towers and is unique to the area.

PARKING INFORMATION
There are no parking fees for Little Elm Park December-February. Some special events and holidays may have parking fees.
GENERAL PARK INFORMATION & RULES
• Parks are always open unless otherwise posted.
• Parks are free for everyone.
• Outside grills and cooking equipment are not allowed in the park. Permanent grills are available in designated areas at Little Elm Park.
LITTLE ELM PARK
BEARD PARK
Playground. This award-winning playground is a great place for kids to play and is ideal for those under seven.
Historic Village. The iconic log cabin and post office brings history to the park.
Pavilion. This is a great spot for parties with four tables; it must be reserved for parties.
COTTONWOOD PARK
Cottonwood Park is a quiet place by the lake.Fishing is allowed with a license. There are picnic tables at the shoreline. Coming April 2025, there will be a new playground, trails, pavillion rental, and kayak launch.Cottonwood Creek Marina is an award-winning marina on the shores of the park with boat rentals and much more. Cottonwood Sports Complex has four baseball fields are for league play. A playground for all ages is in the middle.
UNION PARK
Union Park is Little Elm’s fourth major community park and its first on the University Drive (U.S. 380) corridor. Located north of U.S. 380 off Union Park Blvd., the 35-acre wooded park sits atop a hill with an open-air pavilion overlooking the park. Amenities include a dog park, trails, sand volleyball, pickleball, and ninja fitness stations.
MCCORD PARK
Playground. This playground has the coolest climbing structure! It’s ideal for ages 3-12.
Disc Golf. There is an 18-hole course around the park. This is a free course, and discs are not supplied.
Pond. Fishing is allowed at the pond with a license. The pond is stocked once a year before the Kid Fish Tournament
South Playground. This new, state-of-the-art playground is a one-of-a-kind feature.
Trail. At roughly one-mile long, this concrete trail is great for walkers and bikers.
Splash Pad. Splash away in this awesome amenity! The pavilion has two tables and must be reserved.
Wood Family Dog Park. The perfect place for your pup! Featuring a separate area for small dogs and an area for large dogs.
TRAILS
Cottonwood Natural Trail. This wood-chipped trail is 1.5 miles and ideal for walkers and hikers.
Lakefront Trail. The Lakefront Trail is approximately four miles of crushed granite and connects from Hydrous to McCord Park.
Harts Branch Trail. This mile-long concrete-paved trail connects several neighborhoods to the Lakefront District and other amenities.
McCord Park Trail. Take a mile-long walk through McCord Park and enjoy a disc golf course, pond, splash pad, and trail.

THE REC AT THE LAKEFRONT™
Craft Room. The craft room is a 30’x30’ wood-floored room with a craft sink. A screen and projector are available and this room has a capacity of 46 people.
Non-Member Rate: $50/hour
Member Rate: $25/hour
Reserve the Craft Room.
Multi-Purpose Room with Kitchen. The Multi-Purpose room is a large 28’x42’ tiled room with an attached kitchen. A screen and projector are available and this room has a capacity of 86 people.
Non-Member Rate: $80/hour

Reserve the Multi-Purpose Room.
Conference Room. The Conference Room is a state-of-the-art meeting space for small groups with three TVs that can connect to a computer or device. Reservations for this room can only be made in person and this room has a capacity of 20 people.

Gymnasium. Full-sized gym with a curtain that can be dropped to create two halfgym spaces. The full gym has a main basketball court, main volleyball court, and four pickleball courts. Each half gym has a small-sided basketball gym, a full volleyball court, and two pickleball courts. Contact The Rec for additional details.

Little Elm Park Softball Fields. Two adult-sized softball fields are available to reserve when not used by the Town of Little Elm-recognized adult and youth sports groups. Fields are all dirt infields with grass outfields.

Little Elm Park Soccer Fields. Three full-sized, grass soccer fields and the potential for ten total soccer fields available to reserve when not used by the Town of Little Elm-recognized adult and youth sports groups.

Community Center. The Community Center is a large 55’x30’ room with a kitchen and bathrooms attached. The facility may only be booked once per day and holds reservations of 100 people or less.

Little Elm Park Playground Pavilion. The playground pavilion is the larger of the two pavilions and is located next to the playground.
