MURPH MEMORIAL DAY CHALLENGE

Join Parker Recreation as an official host of the MURPH Challenge fitness event, created by Navy SEAL Michael P. Murphy, and completed annually in honor of fallen comrades. Gear up for 1 mile run, 100 pullups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, and another 1 mile run. A modified version of the workout will also be provided for varying skill levels. Times will be entered on the official MURPH international leaderboard. It’s a physical and mental test, and an incredible way to pay tribute to those who served.

The StarBabies course introduces infants and toddlers to the water in a fun and loving environment, while training parents and caregivers in water safety and drowning prevention. This course focuses on comfort in the water and does not provide swim technique instruction nor emphasis on self-rescue, at this level.

ASHI: COMMUNITY CPR/AED AND FIRST AID 12 years and older
The American Safety and Health Institute CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training program helps students develop the knowledge, skills and the confidence to respond to a medical emergency. This course is offered in a blended learning format, online and in person. Students will participate in a two to four hour online course prior to a two-hour skills session with a certified instructor.

Swim Stroke/Conditioning Clinics are designed for swimmers who already have a strong foundation of the fundamentals of swimming and desire to learn more advanced swimming techniques for competitive swimming. The Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics (CARA) Swim Team is designed to be a program with a strong recreational format for the non-ranked, non-sanctioned participant. Swimmers participate in two practices per week. Swim meets dates are TBD. Swimmers who are interested in participating in CARA each swimmer must have working knowledge of all 4 major strokes. Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle 2 of the 4 strokes - Swimmers must swim a total of 1 length (25 yards). The other 2 strokes swimmers must swim from the wall to the flags (7 yards). Practice times will be assigned at swim assessments, all registered participants must attend swim assessments. Only swimmers that are registered will be assessed.

PILATES REFORMER/TOWER

This class will safely guide you through exercises on the Pilates Reformer. Movement principles include breath and core activation, pelvic stability, shoulder stabilization, strengthening the muscles around the hips and spinal mobilization. You’ll then integrate these movement principles into a series of Reformer and Tower exercises and perform them with precision and control. Pre-Requisite: three private or semi-private Pilates Reformer lessons or supervisor approval.

The first half of Restorative Yoga class mindfully stretches the connective tissues of the body by holding poses for three-plus minutes. It is beneficial for myofascial release, lengthening the lower body and increasing range of motion. Take your archery game to the next level! In this half-day, weeklong camp, archers will focus on the National Training System, the same system taught to our Olympians. Topics include archery FUNdamentals, shot cycle, mental management, strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, goal setting, time management and of course LOTS of archery. Archery is a sport that is open to everyone; it is inclusive to all ages, genders, and abilities. All equipment is provided.

BASEBALL: SUMMER SKILLS CAMP

This two-day camp is developed for young players to learn and refine their skills through focused training methods used by the Rogue Baseball Club. Along with drills, players engage in games and competitions to test their abilities and build competitiveness. They’ll leave with the tools they need to continue to work hard and improve as a ballplayer.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: FREE ROCKIES SKILLS CHALLENGE

Kids will showcase their base running, batting and throwing skills as they compete in gender-specific age divisions for a chance to advance to sectionals and state finals. Kids will be divided into their competition groups and rotate between all stations and receive instructions on each event’s guidelines. The competition begins around 10:30 a.m. and takes approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending on attendance.

NBN’s elite coaching staff created drills that will take each athlete’s shooting and dribbling skills to the next level. Skills and techniques will be practiced weekly providing consistent coaching, structured scheduling and additional practice with repetition of skills. When consistently applied, players are not only able to utilize these techniques in actual game settings, but the skill improvement is proven to build confidence on and off the court.

Pickleball Beginner Clinic is designed to teach the basics of pickleball. Most of the emphasis will be on learning doubles play, although singles play may be introduced but will be covered in more depth in subsequent clinics. Introduction to pickleball will include a general overview of the game, court layout, rules, proper form and technique. Each day consists of skills and drills to learn different types of shots, positioning, progression of play and scoring. Sessions end with coached play so participants will experience game situations.

Pickleball Small Group Trainings are designed to help players of any level refine their skills in a more individualized setting with a maximum of 4 participants per training. Intermediate and advanced players can use these small group trainings to help improve on more specific skills. Each lesson will be customized to the participants registered in the session. THERAPEUTIC REC: ICAN BIKE CAMP
8 years and older
The iCan Bike camp is designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle in a supportive, inclusive environment. Through personalized instruction and the use of adaptive equipment, participants will receive the guidance and encouragement to successfully ride a bike through building confidence, enhancing coordination, and developing new skills. A dedicated team of experienced instructors will work closely with each rider to ensure they progress at their own pace with an emphasis on patience, safety, and fun. By the end of the program, participants will not only learn how to ride a bike but also experience the sense of independence and accomplishment that comes with mastering this lifelong skill.
Adaptive Summer Camp offers a unique blend of exploration, learning and fun for individuals of all abilities. Every activity is specially designed to be accessible and inclusive, ensuring an unforgettable summer camp experience for everyone.

Make Your Own Musical

Makeup for Film & Stage

Enter the world of prosthetic application, painting, and injury makeup. Participants will work on various types of makeup materials, learning to perform different effects. Skills learned by the end of the week will consist of creating wounds (bullet holes, knife wounds, bruises), bald cap application, applying crepe hair, and finally, painting and applying prosthetics. Camp will conclude with a presentation Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Have a blast in Youth Tuber camp learning on-camera presence and content creation. Each day is treated as if the kids are on set, learning the roles that make a crew, such as director, camera operator, set designer, actor, etc. Campers develop their digital well-being with an awareness of online safety. *Campers will receive a professionally edited trailer and episode video a few weeks after camp.
Explosions, tornados, meteors, and even superpowers! In these high-intensity live action movies, the special effects will blow your mind. Spotlight Abilities Theater

Time to step into the SPOTLIGHT! Spend a week creating a one-of-akind musical on the PACE Center mainstage. This exciting opportunity was created to empower those with exceptionalities, such as special needs and disabilities, to express themselves through theater. We will focus on teamwork, confidence building, singing, dancing, acting, and fun costumes! Preteen and Teen Hip Hop
Ages: 12-18 | Fee: $80 R / $88 NR
Locking, popping, funk, and break dancing are all part of the hip hop family. For the past 50 years, this dance genre has made its journey from urban roots to the mainstream crowd. Previous dance experience is not required. Content will be kept clean.

Preteen and Teen Modern & Contemporary
Ages: 12-18 | Fee: $80 R / $88 NR
This weekly technical dance class is designed to explore the contemporary and modern dance world. Previous dance experience is required. Improvisational skills and musical expression are developed at this advanced level.

Level 1 & 2 Ballet
Ages: 9-15 | Fee: $85 R / $93 NR
Our summer ballet class offers an excellent opportunity for dancers to focus on their study of ballet, where they can learn proper technique and alignment. In addition to gaining proficiency in ballet movements, students will also enhance their self-awareness and self-management skills while developing an understanding of the nuances of expression through the art of ballet.

Kids Lyrical
Ages: 7-12 | Fee: $80 R / $88 NR
Lyrical Jazz is a weekly dance class designed to introduce expression into a dancer’s technical skills. They will learn how to tell a story through their dance as they learn lyrical jazz techniques. While previous dance experience is helpful, new dancers are welcome.
