Leashed dogs can be walked through any city park, but need to keep moving and avoid shelters, playgrounds and athletic fields. Unleashed dog parks are located at Edgewater and Patrick Parker Conley Parks. When at the parks and around town, turn on your geocache app to locate hidden geocaches around town. Beaver Dam Community Activities and Services provides community events and recreation programs for all ages and operates The Watermark, a multipurpose community and senior center, along with facility reservations and watercraft rentals.

Dodge County is home to five parks (Astico, Derge, Harnischfeger, Nitschke Mounds and Ledge) and recreational trails that allow you to take in the beautiful, rural landscape our county has. Derge Park is a thirteen-acre park just five minutes northwest of Beaver Dam and located on the shore of Beaver Dam Lake at N8379 County Road CP. The park offers overnight camping with electricity, twenty-five campsites with 30-amp hookups and asphalt pads, picnic shelters, shower/restroom building and dump station, boat launch and canoe/kayak launch.
