Portage continues to make positive strides in economic development. The north side of the city has seen much activity with the recent additions of WCCU Credit Union and Arby’s and with the Northridge Mall now at or near tenant capacity. There’s much potential for more growth with available land and easy access to Interstate 39. The south side of town is bouncing back from a summer of construction with a brand new Wisconsin Street (Highway 16/51) and a new Dollar General business.
