1. Remove bumper: Focus Hatch: Two plastic fixings on lower edge, two torque screws in each wheel arch securing arch liner. Fold liner away to reveal a nut on Focus II or a torque screw on Focus III securing the bumper to the wheel arch. Remove fixing. Remove small bolts (two either side) from boot shut panel. Disconnect fog, reverse lights and reverse sensors where fitted. On Mazda III remove light clusters to reveal extra fixings. Pull bumper tips away from vehicle body and pull bumper rearwards. Remove and discard under tray or cut to suit and replace. C Max & Grand C Max Remove four small bolts (two either side) on boot shut panel. Note: on series 1 & 2 C Max models unclip reflectors to reveal a bolt in each corner recess and remove. Remove two torque screws from each wheel arch liner and fold back. Remove torque screw or nut on series 1 & 2 securing bumper to wheel arch. Remove plastic fixings on lower edge of bumper and disconnect reverse sensors where fitted. Pull out bumper tips and pull bumper rearwards. 2. All Models Remove and hand to customer the rear impact beam. Mazda III remove tape covering mounting points on outside faces of chassis. 3. Insert straps LS and RS inside the chassis rails. Loosely attach using set screws E with washers WA. 4. Cut off lug from the plastic centre frame where applicable. Insert crossbar CB inside chassis and loosely attach to straps LS and RS using set screws B with washers WA. Tighten all fixings using a calibrated torque tool to the specified torque settings on the towbar drawing. 5.
Cut bumper according to diagram relating to specific vehicle. Additional cuts may be required depending on model variants and electrics. Refit bumper. Detachable Neck: Attach to CB using set screws Z. Swan Neck: Attach to crossbar CB using CPE10 plates (Reverse Orientation) with set screws Y & bolts W. Flange Neck: Attach to CB using bolts A. Attach type approved towball (not supplied) using set screws C. 6.
Check and tighten all fasteners using a calibrated torque tool to the specified torque settings recommended on the towbar drawing.
