Spreader Plates
1. Remove rear bumper ( 1 tip screw and 2 plastic plugs in the wheel arch at each side. Remove light units to reveal 1 screw and 1 plastic bung under each, 2 plastic bungs along lower edge ) pull out bumper tips and pull bumper off fixings between rear valance and bumper. Lower exhaust to gain access to dimples in heat shield. 2. Remove and discard impact beam and replace bolts. Cut rear valance as shown in diagram. Locate existing holes in lower chassis and dimples in boot floor. Open out dimples to allow for bushes. 3. Insert angles RA and LA into chassis rails and loosely attach using bushes E and F, spreader plates G, bolts B and C and washers WA. 4. Loosely attach crossbar CB to angles LA and RA using set screws A. Tighten all fixings. Cut bumper as shown in diagram and refit. 5. Attach centre strut CS to crossbar CB using set screws D. 6. Attach type approved towball (not supplied) set screws D. 7. Check and tighten all fasteners using a calibrated torque tool to the specified torque settings recommended on the towbar drawing.
