Fitting Instructions

TOWBAR FOR Ford C-Max 2007-2011 Ford C-Max 2011-

MATERIALS A 1 Cross Bar C 2 Side Arm D 2 M12 x 40 x 1.75mm Bolts, Lock Washers Flat Washers (40mm O.D.) & Witter T Cage Nuts & Retainers E 2 M12 x 50 x 1.75mm Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat Washers (40mm O.D.) Witter T Cage Nuts & Retainers F 4 M12 x 40 x 1.75mm Bolts and Flange Nuts CB 2 M16 x 40mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers FITTING 1 Remove bumper (2 arch screws each side, 1 tip screw behind wheel arch liner, 2 plastic screws on lower edge of bumper. Open Boot to expose 1 bumper bolt each side and remove. Pull bumper tips out sideways then pull bumper rearwards. Undo Reverse Sensor plug if fitted) 2 Remove bumper beam. 3 Pre-assemble the Witter Cage Nuts and insert into each side arm (C) on the most forward hole. Take care to insert into the correct side as shown below. Use fixings D and tighten side arms to chassis. 4 Pre-assemble the cage nuts and insert one onto the forward hole of the main crossbar (A) as shown. 5 Insert crossbar into chassis and attach using fasteners E to the chassis and F to the side arm. 6 Fully tighten all bolts. 7 Refit Bumper tacking care not do damage bumper on centre profiles (Use masking tape if available). Use M16X40mm coupling bolts for coupling requirement. For 2007 to 2011 model a bumper cut will be required as per illustration below as reference only. Note: This tow bar must be used with a Tow ball Class A50-1 or A50-X tow ball dimensionally Conforming to A50-1 with a ‘D’ and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the tow bar. Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed. Recommended torque settings: M10 - 53 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M16 - 200 Nm FORD C MAX 2007- 2011 BUMPER CUT
