Fitting Instructions
TOWBAR For FIAT 500L,MPV,Trekking FT78U 2012-
MATERIALS A 1 Main Crossbar. C 1 R/H Sidearm. D 1 L/H Sidearm. E 6 (Existing M8 x 1.25 Nuts) Supplied Lock washers and 20 O/D Flat washers. F 2 M12 x 35 Bolts, Lock washers, 40 O/D Washers, Cage nut Retainers and special cage nuts. G 4 M12 x 30 x1.75 Bolts, Lock washers and nuts. ZE 1 Electrical Plate. ZN 1 Neck. Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball, which dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a ‘D’ and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar. FITTING 1. Remove bumper, 2 off Philips head screws and 1 off torx head machine screw inside each wheel arch, 1 off plastic clip at lower edge of wheel arch; remove 3 off torx machine screws from lower edge of bumper. 2. Remove light clusters, access in boot to rear of clusters, use Allen key to remove plastic fixings. 3. For MPV remove and discard plastic bumper mounting. 4. Remove the crash beam (hand to customer) retain M8 nuts for fitting towbar. 5. Mark chassis rails for drilling, drill to allow 12mm bolt to pass through. Note: (dimension template Supplied) 6. Place side arms (with assembled cage nuts) inside chassis openings, loosely attach with bolts “F” through drilled holes. 7. Loosely attach side arms to crash beam studs using “E” retained M8 nuts and supplied 25 O/D washers and Lock washers.. 8. Attach part “A” main crossbar using fixings ”G”, 9. Cut bumper as shown, Note: A larger cut will be required for neck options with retractable electrical plate. 10. Attach chosen neck option. 11. Fully tighten fixings to correct torque and re-fit bumper. Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 - 200 Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
