APRIL NOTE BOOK What to see, do and experience in the month of April FIVE MINUTES W IT H C A R A - L I SA Health blogger, yoga enthusiast and health-food producer Cara-Lisa has created Caralishious Coconut Milk Ice-Cream – a sugar-free, dairy-free, low-carb treat.
84
What inspired your coconut-milk ice cream? My passion for health, Italian genes and love for ice cream, coupled with the desire to create something delicious and guiltfree! We should enjoy a variety of food, including dessert – and so why not make a healthy one?
@CARALISHIOUS
talent to watch
Who were your taste guinea pigs? Friends, family and my boyfriend, of course. Many variants were tried and tested before we reached the perfect recipe.
Can we expect to see any new flavours? New flavours, perhaps, but definitely new desserts (and I don’t mean ice cream). Watch this space… What’s your favourite way to destress? There is nothing like yoga to bring me back to the present moment and calm my mind. I also love to take long walks with my little toy Pom, Cielo. Your must-have ingredients?
@CARALISHIOUS
Salad ingredients for a quick meal, tuna, lowkilojoule mayo, 100% rye bread, raw nuts, olive oil, sugar-free peanut butter and avo (because avo is everything!) Best holiday destination? Mauritius, or the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy.

Who would make up the guests at your dream dinner party? Jessica Alba (my inspiration since childhood), Jeff Bezos, Larry Page, Elon Musk and Jamie Oliver. Needless to say, I would learn a lifetime of lessons all in one sitting, with some improved cooking skills thrown in the mix.
Caralishious Coconut Milk Ice-Cream is available in six delectable flavours at selected stores in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town, and is now also available at Dis-Chem pharmacies.

Don’t let the title fool you; this is not a nature book. It’s John Green’s first offering since his acclaimed 2012 novel The Fault In Our Stars. Turtles All The Way Down (Penguin Random House, R290) starts with a mystery involving a fugitive billionaire and an astronomical cash reward. Teen Aza and her fearless friend Daisy set off to investigate. Green presents an unwaveringly clear view of life, love, resilience and friendship.
