CONCEPTS SWITCHING LI’S TWISTING STRIPS This concept is about opening up the space and controlling the views, according to the amount of occupants of the space, and it’s program.

THE TOP & BOTTOM EDGES ARE TOO FRAGILE TO HAVE TOO MUCH STRESS PULLING ON IT HOWEVER, BY HOLD THE TOP AND BOTTOM IN PLACE THIS ALLOWS THE STRIPS NOT TO SLIPT YET STILL LETTING THEM MOVE FREELY WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED

THROUGH EXPLORING THE SHAPES OF THE STRIPS AND IT’S POTENTIALS WE DECIDED TO MAKE THE ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENT OF HEAT & LIGHT SECONDARY DRIVERS. THE ELEMENT OF WIND BECAME OUR MAIN FOCUS, AS WELL AS EXPANDING IT’S APPLICATION TOWARDS SHELTERS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT OUR CONCEPT WAS TAKEN FROM THE IDEA OF THE FOREST AS A NATURAL WINDBREAKER. THIS LEAD OUR RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS IT’S PROPERT IN POROSITY

EXPERIMENTING WITH DIFFERENT PATTERNS ON THE SCREENS ALLOWED US TO FIND THE IDEAL DESIGN AESTHETICALLY & STRUCTURALLY . THE THINNER STRIPS WERE A BIT TOO FLIMSY . ZIGZAG/ SQUIGGLE LINES POSE A PROBLEM AT EACH BEND DUE TO LACK F TENSION . THE NON-PARALLEL LINES WERE A BIT TOO RIGID AND DID NOT FLOW AS WELL AS THE PARALLEL LINES
