Welcome to an

unparalleled opportunity

The opportunity to invest in a new form of currency

elite genetics

Brad, Meg, Ben, Will, and Thomas Freking Alpha, Minnesota

Meg and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our first Summer Gala, an event that we plan to continue with annually. We also need to recognize and thank the Hartman Cattle Company families for graciously opening up their ranch to host this event. Our motivation for doing this unique event, in all honesty, is that we have simply produced too many outstanding females to try to effectively market them all in the fall. The progeny that will be on display is the result of significant investments in a group of outstanding donors over the past couple of years. From this group of 35 donor cows, we created 55 embryo transfer pregnancies along with the 35 natural calves this past year. The heifers we are offering to you are an elite set of females hand-picked from that set of calves. For this sale, with the creativeness of Innovation AgMarketing, we have fashioned a process for new buyers to more effectively evaluate the heifers to guide their investment. Our process for evaluating the potential investment value of each heifer is unique, but also simple to understand, and based upon the actual dollars generated within each heifer’s pedigree. This is a novel approach, but hopefully simpler for those not familiar with the industry than the EPD numbers that the industry relies upon. For those familiar with the industry,

we will also be providing EPD’s. It is not our intention to downplay the value of EPD’s, but rather to provide another way to evaluate the potential value of your investment. The HCC Customer Appreciation sale heifers that will sell in December will also be on full display for your review. We wanted to ensure confidence in your purchase by providing you the opportunity to evaluate them against the Elite of the Elite in the Simmental industry. For those not familiar with the HCC Customer Appreciation Female Heifer Sale, Mike and Dalton Hartman travel the United States in search of the most elite females to present the second Saturday of December. All of these females come from HCC genetics, whether on the female or bull side of the pedigree, and the sale is truthfully, a wonderful customer appreciation event. We will also have on display some of the bulls that will be offered for sale in February. If you have the opportunity to review the set of bulls, you will quickly realize that there are many full sibs to the heifers that we are offering, once again, helping to confirm the genetic value of the heifers being offered. For those of you that are new to the industry, we have provided information on pages 9 through 11 for you to clearly understand what the investment opportunity looks like. HCC is fully prepared to manage your investment for you as outlined later in the catalog. Additionally, this option will allow you exclusive access to one of the most pristine herd sire batteries in the beef cattle industry. This particular resource provided by HCC is truly invaluable. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. In closing, Meg and I would like to thank the Hartman Cattle Company for making this event possible and Innovation AgMarketing for creating an alternative process for you to evaluate your potential investment. We look forward to seeing you on August 8th in Tecumseh, Nebraska!

Terms & Conditions All lots sell in accordance with the suggested guidelines of the American Simmental Association. Announcements made sale day from the block during the sale take precedence over printed material in this catalog. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash, cashier’s check, or check. All cattle must be paid for prior to release. All funds are to be paid to Innovation AgMarketing, LLC in U.S. currency. No cattle will be transferred, delivered, or released without full payment. In the event you need expedited registration paper transfers please make plans to pay in full on sale day. All sales are final. Investment Development Developing your investment properly is a variable that will dictate returns. We have different options that should prove to be valuable in the development and care of your new heifer(s). 1) Leave your heifer(s) at Hartman Cattle Company to be managed on share: I) This option will include complete and total management under the care of Hartman Cattle Company. II) Additional costs such as the practice of Invitro Fertilization or Conventional Embryo Transplant will apply. For more information about what these fixed costs may look like please contact Mike Hartman at (402) 440-6825. III) Why utilize IVF and Conventional Embryo production? This is the process of multiplying the potential return of your investment and increase the odds of a more profitable payout from each calf crop. Many of the heifers in the offering are the result of our extensive embryo transplant program. IV) Buyer is responsible for purchasing recipient cows once they are confirmed pregnant. Pregnant recipient cows will be managed by Hartman Cattle Company. Historical cost of 60-day pregnant recipient cows has ranged from $2,000 - $3,000. Buyer will own that recipient cow in her entirety. V) All profits will be handled on a 60/40 split between the manager and the owner. Hartman Cattle Company will receive 60% of sale proceeds in order to assume full responsibility of the daily care, management costs, marketing, and all herd health protocols. The owner of the heifer(s) will receive 40% of the profits with no additional expense during the natural production process. The natural production process is limited to Artificial Insemination, followed by the natural clean-up service by a member of the Hartman Cattle Company exclusively utilized herd sire battery. This will allow access to some of the most influential individuals in the Simmental breed at no additional cost. VI) It is strongly recommended that each heifer is bred naturally and has at least 1 natural calf before entering IVF or Conventional Embryo Transplant to insure reproductive health. 2) Take your heifer home to be managed: I) Hartman Cattle Company takes great pride in the customer service aspect of the business. If the heifer(s) leave the premises of Hartman Cattle Company, the staff at HCC welcomes any questions that pertain to breeding, management, and health that you may have. Once your heifer(s) enter production Hartman Cattle Company reserves the right to view any progeny that may qualify for the Annual Customer Appreciation Female Sale and Annual Bull Sale. II) Any cattle that become eligible for the annual marketing events at Hartman Cattle Company will be managed by Hartman Cattle Company on a 50/50 split, with Hartman Cattle Company absorbing the marketing and management costs associated with sale preparations.

• The cattle that qualify for the $ INVEST™ program have been stringently screened for structural soundness, foot shape, fleshing ability, and phenotypic eye appeal. These components combined will outlive any trend within the industry. • $ INVEST™ is an index to be used as a tool in the selection process of Simmental and SimAngus™ seedstock merchandised at Hartman Cattle Company. • $ INVEST™ combines actual data derived from auction and private treaty sales. • $ INVEST™ provides the opportunity for seedstock breeders, commercial producers, and investor potentials to select for profitability based on history of direct members of lineage. • $ INVEST™ encompasses the revenue generated from the animal’s dam and maternal granddam, as well as the valuation of each individual animal’s sire. Breed composition is taken into consideration based on generational intervals and the different levels of earning potential. • $ INVEST™ values should be compared between animals to estimate the differences in potential valuation and return on investment. • An ROI ranking correlates to the $ INVEST™ value that is earned by each individual animal based on actual sales. • $ INVEST™ was developed to be utilized as a selection tool to assist first time buyers to make an investment with more precision and calculation. $ INVEST ™ is an estimate of future earning potential.

THE BUYERS GUIDE TO INVESTMENT SUCCESS What are the main questions that you need to ask during the selection process? I)

Is she a standout phenotypically? i) Structural correctness, foot quality, fleshing ability, and eye appeal dictate added value. As previously cited, an animal’s phenotype and fundamental correctness will outlast popular trends or fads within the industry.

II)

How is she bred? i) Meaning what is her sire?

II)

What cow family supports her lineage? i) The dam, 2nd generation dam, 3rd generation dam, and so on make up the cow family that supports each individual animal. Being supported by a powerful and proven cow family will increase the odds of profitability.

III)

What is her breed make-up? i) Knowing if she is a Purebred Simmental, ¾ Blood Simmental, or ½ Blood Simmental will make the difference in sire selection when the time comes to mate your investment. The higher the percentage allows for more mating flexibility.

Bailey’s Profit’s Dream topped the sale at $195,000 selling to Sara Sullivan of Dunlap, Iowa. She was named Grand Champion Purebred at the 2018 AJSA National Classic in St. Paul, Minnesota. • A full sister to 1906G, Bailey’s Dream Girl, was selected for $135,000 and has become a staple in the donor pen at Freking Cattle Company. Her other list of high sellers includes, a $40,000 daughter sired by Chopper in the 2013 Donors & Divas sale, and a son that sold for $50,000 in the 2017 Hartman Bull Sale. LAH Mignonne 243Z was bred in the Horstman Cattle Company program in Lafayette, Indiana. 243Z is a direct daughter of the foundation PRC Looking Good T94 matron. • PRC Looking Good T94 is a foundation half-blood SimAngus™ donor that was bred in the Conley/ Penner program at Sulphur, Oklahoma. She has served as a cornerstone for the Horstman Cattle Company and Knapper Cattle Company programs. T94 has over 80 registered progeny with the American Simmental Association. During her time in production at Horstman Cattle Company of Indiana she recorded an average of 13.1 viable embryos over a lifetime of 27 flushes. T94 records with 61 daughters and 20 sons to date with the American Simmental Association. T94 was purchased in 2017 by Jack McCoy of Lafayette, Indiana in the Factory Direct sale. • A uniquely stout Fortune heifer calf that is backed by the time-tested, prolific Looking Good T94 cow family. Without a doubt a sound investment opportunity to acquire elite Purebred Simmental genetics influence by the legendary Mignonne cow family that made such an impact on the Angus breed through the influence of the great Gibbet Hill Mignonne E37, most commonly known as the dam of the legendary BC Lookout 7024. • Power in the blood!

• We introduce the Countess tribe that is led by the prolific HCC0 Countess 923G, an own daughter of the $400,000 Profit that is backed by one of the most consistent SimAngus™ females at Hartman Cattle Company, TKCC Countess 176Y, raised in the Kearns Cattle Company program at Rushville, Nebraska. • 923G is a true standout among the “G” model females at Freking Cattle Company, producing the largest flush of ET calves sired by the $100,000 MR CCF 20-20. • Superior quality phenotypically, this set of females are further supported by a powerful set of flush mate brothers that will highlight the 2022 Hartman Cattle Company 8th Annual Bull sale in February. • TKCC Countess 176Y is also the dam of HCC0 Countess 176D, a full sister to 923G, that is member of the very capable donor pen at Vogler Cattle Company. 176D produced a MR CCF 20-20 sired bull calf, Foresight 253G, that was selected by Tony Simons of Iowa in the 2020 Hartman Cattle Company Bull Sale for $20,000. 253G is a full brother in blood to the heifers being offered on August 8th in Tecumseh. Foresight 253G was a member of the 2020 NWSS Grand Champion Pen of Five Simmental Bulls. • TKCC Countess 175Y is the full sister to 176Y that also has had a decorated track record in production. 175Y produced the $20,000 Triple Threat that was sired by the $100,000 WS Pilgrim H182U and purchased by Tom and Gloria Klinger of Missouri. 175Y and 176Y have also produced several sons and daughters that have been marketed private treaty from $5,000 to $7,500. • As a young two-year-old at the beginning of her production career HCC0 Countess 923G has set the pace. Her ability to generate quality in volume is absolutely astonishing. Look for 923G daughters to be the next generation with tremendous upside once you get them into production. • The flushmate brothers to these females will make up the OKC Cattlemen’s Congress Pen of Five Purebred Simmental bulls next January.

• HCC0 Countess 921G is a maternal sister to countless individuals that have been past high sellers, champions, and herd sires of impact.
