RIP CITY, BABY A single phrase that became the club’s heart and soul. Credit Bill Schonely, the voice of the Trail Blazers from 1970-98.
One night, in our first season, we were ______________ the Lakers at home. We got way, way behind. VERB ENDING IN “ING”
Then, all of a sudden, ______________ started falling, the Trail Blazers are rallying and the place is PLURAL NOUN
______________ . We got within two points and had the ball. I’ll never forget when ______________ took VERB ENDING IN “ING”
PERSON
a long jumper. They swished the ______________ to tie the score and the coliseum ______________ . NOUN
VERB (PAST TENSE)
The instant the ball hit the net, I hollered ‘______________ City!’ I’d never used the phrase before. SPECIAL VERB
But as soon as I said ‘______________ City’, people near me at the press table ______________ in SAME SPECIAL VERB
VERB (PAST TENSE)
right away, saying ‘That’s ______________. You ought to leave it in your broadcasts.’ So I did. And ADJECTIVE

TRAIL BLAZERS GAME PROGRAM • GET TO KNOW THE BROADCASTERS
BROOKE
OLZENDAM COURTSIDE REPORTER IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO SLEEP, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH THE EXTRA TIME? I watch the NBA. I need to get a life. I also enjoy grocery shopping more than any human should. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PIECE OF CLOTHING YOU OWN? The flats that I put on IMMEDIATELY after a game. I have a love/hate relationship with heels. WHAT JOB WOULD YOU BE TERRIBLE AT? I would hate AND be terrible at sales. I don't like to bother people. WHAT’S THE LAST THING YOU RECORDED ON TV? Probably something on Bravo. I know, I know. WHAT IS THE WEIRDEST THING YOU’VE EVER EATEN? I was in Japan when I was 13 and my parents bought cookies to feed the deer at a touristy park. I didn't know that's what they were for. So, deer food. WHAT SKILL WOULD YOU LIKE TO MASTER? I would LOVE to be able to play an instrument. Perhaps the piano or the sax. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A NICKNAME? IF SO, WHAT IS IT? My family still calls me Boo. There's Buffy. And my boss, Jeff Curtin, lovingly calls me "B.O." Yeah. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU KNEW MORE ABOUT? I wish I knew more about cooking. I really love it, and pretend I'm okay at it. But I have a lot to learn. I do have that crock pot down, though. WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ? Trail Blazers Media Guide. Again, need to get a life. WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU’VE BEEN MEANING TO TRY BUT JUST HAVEN’T GOTTEN AROUND TO IT? I need to learn another language. I just need to. WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO START THE DAY? I have a nice chai tea latte and some eggs, then watch the Today Show and/or national news. WHO INSPIRES YOU TO BE BETTER? I have had people taken from me too soon, and I want to make them proud. I'm an optimist, and try not to take anything for granted.

The Trail Blazers are dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and families who have been historically underserved, where they live, learn and play. We support children and families in our region by providing resources to high quality, impactful nonprofit organizations providing critical services in Oregon and SW Washington. Throughout the 2016-17 season, Trail Blazers Inc. & Trail Blazers Foundation successfully gave $1.59 million of in-kind donations and $950,501 in grant dollars to local communities.
The Trail Blazers believe our home court extends far beyond the arena and everything we do in our lives makes an impact. We encourage fans to join us in our efforts to protect our planet and our community to ensure a brighter future for generations to come.
The Trail Blazers strive to ensure that every child has the opportunity to graduate from high school. We support youth in hitting the key benchmarks that ensure this achievement through their education.
The Trail Blazers work to create opportunities where youth are active every day, have access to learn and play basketball, and have positive coaches in their lives.
