What is Cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a highly innovative technique that involves immersing the body in a chamber filled with liquid nitrogen, which drops the temperature to as low as minus 180 degrees Celsius. The process is used to activate the body’s natural healing mechanisms, promote muscle recovery, alleviate muscle soreness, and enhance overall wellness.

One of the key benefits of using a cryotherapy chamber is reducing inflammation in the body. Cryotherapy helps to decrease swelling and inflammation, leading to decreased pain and faster healing. The process also helps to increase blood flow to the muscles, leading to improved recovery time and reduced muscle soreness.

Cryotherapy is also touted for its ability to help with weight loss, as the extreme cold temperature causes the body to burn calories to stay warm. In addition, the process can help with the reduction of cellulite, improve skin rejuvenation and reduce the appearance of scars, and improve the symptoms of chronic pain.

Finally, using a cryotherapy chamber can boost the immune system and improve sleep quality. The process can help to boost the production of endorphins, leading to a heightened sense of wellbeing and increased energy levels. Overall, the benefits of using a cryotherapy chamber are numerous and can provide a significant boost to your overall health and wellness. Why You Should Take Probiotics With Antibiotics

Antibiotics play an important role in killing harmful bacteria. However, as they destroy the infection, they can cause collateral damage to beneficial bacteria in the gut, which can lead to diarrhea for days or weeks after the drug is stopped. Although we look for the health benefits of therapy, we want to avoid the unpleasant digestive side effects.

However, research shows that using probiotics can keep digestive problems at bay. It is an effective way to reduce side effects. They are curative and preventive. This is because probiotics replenish the beneficial bacteria in your gut to keep your microbiome from getting out of balance. The use of probiotics can also make antibiotics more effective.

Start taking your probiotics daily on the same day you start taking your antibiotics, keeping them 2 hours apart. It is important to continue taking probiotics for at least a week after antibiotics have ended.

The amount of active microbiota in probiotics is measured in Colony Forming Units, or CFU. The specific dosage will depend on the specific product you are using, but it is generally between 10 to 20 billion CFU per day and 5 to 10 billion CFU per day in children.

The label on the probiotic package will also indicate the strain of bacteria contained in the capsule. Look for probiotics with 5 to 10 different strains. Studies comparing single-strain to multi-strain probiotics found that using different strains was more effective in reducing diarrhea.

Ask your pharmacist for recommendations that meet these criteria, as in Strand Road Pharmacy we stock some of the best brands like Alflorex, Zenflore, Biokult, Optibac and Udo’s Choice just to name a few!"
