Author, Blogger and Entrepreneurship Coach! It all started at the young age of 17, when I was offered the opportunity to teach self-improvement classes at a local performing arts studio. I went on to teach for the next six years. That early experience gave me the opportunity to build young people’s self-esteem and confidence. That’s when I became a coach! Over the course of two decades, my experience has encompassed diverse roles, including working in education, the corporate world, and various aspects of Christian ministry. My gift for recognizing people’s God-given strengths has now developed into seeing their potential to create purposeful streams of income and guiding them to launch “calling”-type business endeavors. Over the last couple of years, I’ve continued to spread my expertise, from writing for a well-respected entrepreneurial blog to self-publishing as an author, and inspiring people through my newsletter, blog posts and other forms of content. Today, my superpower lies in my prophetic insight, healing grace and creative edge. I look forward to raising up purpose-driven healed entrepreneurs into their destiny!
WHAT IS YOUR NICHE (COACHING FOCUS) AND HOW DID YOU CHOOSE IT?
Faith-Based Entrepreneurship Coaching! I can’t say I chose it, I think it chose me!
WHO IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?
My ideal client is someone who recognizes that entrepreneurship is their true calling. They are driven by a strong sense of purpose. They might have a background in traditional Christian ministry, or have dedicated their skills in professional settings building someone else’s vision or dream. However, they now know it’s their turn and their time! They are also humble, teachable, they exercise flexible thinking and are ready to do the work!
writing for a well-respected entrepreneurial blog in mostly entrepreneurial motivation and wisdom. I loved it, and my articles were well received. However, I had to stop due to my full-time career schedule at the time and my own writing projects. It felt like everything had come to a pause. But more recently, the compass has been reorienting in this direction again. Some doors had to close because of it, but this has been necessary.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A LIFE COACH?
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF BEING A LIFE COACH?
It’s something I’ve been doing naturally all of my life. However, I recently chose to take the “Entrepreneurship and Business Coaching” certification to benefit from the formal training and its advantages.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN COACHING? Since high school!
HOW DID YOU GET YOUR FIRST CLIENT?
I have been coaching my peers and friends informally for some time and have been coaching others from a distance through my written articles, newsletters, digital resources and other content. However, I will be introducing more personalized coaching options in the near future.
HOW HAS YOUR COACHING JOURNEY CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
Because of my faith background and my lengthy experience in Christian ministry, originally I thought I would primarily be coaching other Christians in spiritual matters, Christian living and biblical truths. But I’m highly creative, entrepreneurialminded and have a strong interest in innovation and technology. My journey has made a sharp turn this past year towards purpose-driven entrepreneurship. A few years ago, I was
The most challenging part for me has been to completely stop giving unsolicited advice to people who are not asking for it, not looking for it, or who wouldn’t value it anyway.
WHAT IS THE MOST FULFILLING PART OF BEING A LIFE COACH?
Watching people overcome challenges and make progress. Also watching people recognize divine intervention when it comes!
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST INSPIRATIONAL COACHING MOMENT, WITH A CLIENT?
Some of the most inspirational moments have been watching people experience breakthroughs after following my recommendations. It’s been inspiring to watch others step into their purpose.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COACHING ACTIVITY OR EXERCISE TO DO WITH CLIENTS?
Visualization. Sometimes, pictures speak louder than words. I’ve prayed with people asking God to show them a

eaningful image for encouragement. For some, it has imm mediately transformed their outlook from hopelessness to encouragement. I also have some training in biblical dream interpretation, and have prayed with people to receive dreams that would either confirm, guide or reveal a missing piece of the puzzle that they need to move forward. Often they report back saying they indeed had a significant dream!
best marketing, but if you’re not ready on the inside and you’re launched too soon, it could become disastrous and at the very least simply fail. None of that feels good. When doors don’t open, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s not meant to be. It could just be for your benefit. Sometimes, people are “too soon” or premature, which is a “dress rehearsal.” It’s not wasted effort, but it simply means it’s not showtime yet! Timing is EVERYTHING!
WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST EFFECTIVE STRATEGY FOR FINDING CLIENTS AND/OR WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF BACK WHEN YOU FIRST DREAMED OF GROWING YOUR BUSINESS? From what I have seen and know, I strongly be- BECOMING A COACH?
lieve that word of mouth, reviews, testimonials and creating organic outreach content that speaks to a target audience are powerful tools. I’m a firm believer in putting in the effort, positioning yourself to be discovered, and allowing opportunities to come to you. It’s also important to pay attention and be open to opportunities that come in the form of invitations, such as guesting on blogs, podcasts or forming other types of partnerships. These invitations often open doors to more opportunities and more visibility. I also believe God can intervene with algorithms and bring attention to you when the time is right. This spiritual principle should not be overlooked. Sometimes more “inner work” is needed, and not marketing. You can have the

WHAT IS THE IMPACT YOU WANT TO MAKE IN THIS WORLD?
To bring hope to the discouraged, and to help resurrect their dead and dormant dreams into life. To empower purposedriven, healed entrepreneurs to achieve greatness and to have a wide-reaching impact through resources, books, courses, podcast and other means.

Tales from an American in Romania. By Terez Hartmann
WELCOME TO EUROPE: COMING FULL CIRCLE
I’m. In. Europe. For the first time EVER, I was returning to the mother continent, the land of SO many of my ancestors, and my heart and soul felt a profound sense of homecoming. Though this trip was certainly taking me beyond SO many of my comfort zones—traveling abroad for almost three weeks without my husband, not fully knowing the language, simply going along for the ride instead of being the planner and orchestrator—I can’t even begin to imagine the courage my ancestors must have had to be willing to leave their homes permanently, voyage across the volatile Atlantic Ocean for weeks and even months, and then face the great unknown of an entirely new way of life in a foreign country… As the Frankfurt, Germany airport came into view, and my “OSS”, Transformation Coaching Magazine publisher Natalie and I, accompanied by our fellow “soul sister” and expert Romanian guide, Sandy, took our very first steps toward a convergence of past and present, I took a moment to quietly say, “Thank you” to those who came before me. Our next stop: Bucharest, Romania.
PERSPECTIVE
After connecting with Sandy and several Romanian friends over the years, I had, indeed, seen my share of beautiful photos and videos of this gorgeous country for years, but nothing could have prepared me for what I observed, experienced, and FELT upon arriving in Romania’s timeless capital city… In addition to being known as “The Little Paris”, Bucharest was indeed a multicultural crossroads with prominent influences from French, Italian, Hungarian, Turkish, German, Celtic, Ukrainian, and Russian
c ultures—to name a few, and the language is also one of the core Latin-based, Romance languages, sharing many similar terms that draw from Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese, with splashes of German, and even Russian. As for architecture, right beside the classical “Beaux-Arts” style buildings (created by French architects or Romanian architects educated at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris), stood magnificent Romanian Orthodox churches, ultra-modern masterpieces, and the stark contrast of concrete, graffiti-covered, Communist-era buildings. While driving through the outskirts of Bucharest and into Transylvania, we also found the simplest of pastoral homes (many with a strong Bavarian influences), alongside the elaborate, Orient-inspired “gypsy palaces” of the wealthy class of Romani, with one home looking to outdo its neighbors by adding ever-more spires and ornate finishes. But something that struck me was this: Even though this was a country that had been occupied by multiple empires and nations over centuries, with many current residents having experienced life under Communist rule (a time when people literally stood in line for food and supplies, had to live in the style and manner dictated by the government, had many of their churches completely demolished, and would see people who had opinions about the current state of affairs suddenly disappear—never to be seen again), these resilient people found a way to keep their core culture alive and well through it ALL—and if you are even half-awake, you will find it in their food, music, the peace-inducing chants of the Romanian Orthodox churches, the distinct rhythm and timbre of their language, and in the spirit of a people that remains truly unbroken by all that history has thrown at them. As a person who was born and raised in America, who has not even touched at experiencing national or personal trials of this magnitude, it most certainly increased my level of appreciation for the multitude of gifts and blessings that have always been a part of my day-to-day life.

AWE & WONDER
From the tiniest detail to the grandest scale, I found myself simply enraptured by this beautiful country. Every building, park and sector of Bucharest that we visited felt like a technicolor buffet of delicious Romanian culture. The “Dimitrie Gusti” National Village Museum was an incredible journey into the way Romanians have lived throughout the ages, giving a glimpse into the nature of life for many of my ancestors. “Old Town” (where Natalie and I had our first official European café experience), was filled with incredible architecture, every variety of food and drink you could imagine, EPIC coffee, a fabulous, authentic Romanian dinner and traditional music venue, Hanu’ lui Manuc, the amazing and ornate 135-year-old Romanian restaurant, Caru’ cu Bere, and some seriously bangin’ nightlife! We celebrated our new friend Vlad’s birthday at one of the many indoor-outdoor clubs, and by the end 10
of the night were dancing on our chairs, along with two new local friends! The theater and arts district, with its numerous cafes, unbelievably talented busking musicians, umbrella-covered street, and jaw-dropping Romanian Athenaeum could have easily merited a couple of days exploration. And, oh, the glorious Simfonia Apei fountains near Constitution Square made anything I’d seen in Las Vegas utterly pale by comparison. The drive from Bucharest to our retreat base of “Vidra de Sus” (a place of heavenly serenity, beauty and fabulous locally-sourced food and drink), in Vidra, Alba, was filled with incredible variety and breathtaking scenery: The mountains, rivers, and forests truly made my soul sing, and even the simplest, tiny, rough and rugged villages were still filled with colors, textures, flowers, animals and unique architectural details that made me want to photograph every last centimeter of what I could capture out of the van window. Our mountain hikes brought a bounty of wild berries (a few of which, I actually sampled—a courageous act for this mega city girl!), wild flowers, wonderful trees, inspiring vistas that made me want to twirl and sing “The hills are alive…”, and even a natural spring that provided all of us with some of the purest, freshest water on earth! There was also a multitiered, moss-terraced waterfall within walking distance of the retreat center that looked like something out of a faerie tale!* As we made our way deeper into Transylvania, we also explored the site of sacred hot springs and ancient Roman baths, along with another beautiful waterfall that actually emitted a WARM mist, and, for the first time ever, I got to step beyond Disney’s “Cinderella’s castle” into four very REAL and amazing castles; Castelul Corvinilor (Corvins’ Castle), Bran Castle, Cantacuzino Castle, and Peles Castle (my personal favorite)—each built at different times for different purposes, and three with grounds that were the ideal backdrop for these architectural masterpieces. FYI—The famous Bran Castle, dubbed “Dracula’s Castle”, was far from creepy—rather stunningly beautiful—and, even if you were NOT able to do an inside tour of Cantacuzino Castle (the site where the Netflix series, “Wednesday” was filmed), the food, ambiance, and EPIC Carpathian mountain views from the outdoor terrace of the Canta Cuisine Restaurant on site will take your breath away! (Plus, if you are a fan of dogs and cats, bring snacks and you’ll make many new friends everywhere you go!) However, even beyond these incredible sites, this country had even more special spaces and unexpected gifts in store for me…
UNEXPECTED CONNECTION
Through the magic of http://www.Ancestry.com, I recently (in the past 3 to 4 years) discovered that a portion of my Eastern-European lineage can be traced to both Romania and Moldova, so the idea of discovering more about this part of my heritage certainly added a layer of
Peles Castle.
intrigue to my trip, but I had no idea what would meet me as I traveled through these enchanted lands… As Sandy led us on a tour of Bucharest that brought us to one of the few older Romanian Orthodox churches that had been spared during the Communist “cleansing” era, I heard the most beautiful sound that literally stopped me in my tracks: It was the sound of a trained chanter, and it was literally music to my soul. Rather than listening for a second and resuming our tour, I asked if we could please sit and listen for a moment… Even without understanding a single word, it truly felt as if I was being “tuned” from the inside-out. While staying in the “Old Town” area of Bucharest (Sector 3), I saw that there was a monastery within walking distance of our hotel and something told me that I simply HAD to see it—even if I needed to go on my own. When we first arrived, the sanctuary was closed, but just as we started to move on, the doors opened and I knew
I HAD to go in. What happened next was something I will remember all the days of my life: As I made my way past the entry area into the inner sanctum, I heard the words, “Welcome Home”, and “cu placere” in my mind (“cu placere” literally means, “with pleasure”, which is used much like “you’re welcome” in response to “thank you”) and was hit by a wave of love that was SO big, I started weeping and shaking uncontrollably. I literally HAD to sit down and gladly welcomed the embrace and support of any who were within reach. Granted, I am a very sensitive being who has always been able to tune in to the energy of a space, but I had NEVER experienced anything that felt like THIS… …It was if a giant group of family and ancestors had been waiting there for me—much like an EPIC surprise party/family reunion—all simultaneously welcoming me home with one immense voice. If there was ANY doubt about my connection to this magical land 11
Ancient Dacian site of Sarmizegetusa Regia. and its people, it was utterly put to rest in that poignant, pivotal moment. Though nothing would compare to the magnitude of that experience, as we continued our travels, I also felt deep connections to the mountains and forests of Transylvania, the site of Romanian Unification, the sacred, ancient Dacian site of Sarmizegetusa Regia (known to many as “The Romanian Stonehenge”), and felt a powerful sense of recognition when I looked into the eyes of the Romani people we encountered along the way. 12
As we concluded our travels and made one final stop at a beautiful monastery just outside of Bucharest before preparing for the long flight home, a stranger gifted me with a small bottle of scented holy oil and said he felt I needed to have it. When I offered to pay him, he simply replied, “No money.” …And with that, as I soon after said “la revedere” to beautiful Romania, I knew a whole new world had been opened to me, and that I was absolutely destined to return and discover even more of the beauty, magic and mysteries waiting to unfold!
THE BOTTOM LINE: GIFTS FROM ABROAD
Who knew that when I met my soul sister, Sanda Kruger, “Sandy” in her BellyCore Fitness dance class all those years ago that I’d later be visiting a country I (at the time) knew next to nothing about, that I’d be getting on a plane to fly straight into the unknown with Natalie Rivera, that I actually had DNA tied to Romania, and that I’d be welcomed to this faraway land in such grand fashion! Thank you Sandy (Satori Romania) for planting the seed all those years ago, being my friend, being THE catalyst for this incredible adventure, being such a powerful agent of personal evolution and transformation, and for the truly beautiful retreat and incredible tour you put together! Thank you, Natalie, (https://www.transformationacademy.com) for making this EPIC experience possible, and for being each other’s wing-woman as we discovered, broke through, giggled uncontrollably, danced like wild banshees, celebrated, “oooh’d” and “ahhh’d” in unison, and comforted each other when we each needed it. Thank you, Lori (https://www.loriballard.com) for bringing your incredible spirit of curiosity, courage and artistic eye that captured SO much of the spirit of our adventure through your camera lens. Thank you, Vlad, for your love, kindness, friendship, beautiful spirit, and keeping us alive and well as we traversed hundreds of miles on the roads of Romania!
Thank you, Nicolaie Stoian, for your wonderful insights and for sharing your incredible healing and energetic gifts (and music!) with me—and ALL of us. Thank you, Laura, Christian, and Christian Jr. for choosing taking a leap of faith and deepen your healing journey. Thank you, Lia (the mastermind behind Vidra de Sus) for creating a true sanctuary of love, peace, and well-being that could be felt through ALL that you do, even in your delicious food! Thank you, beautiful Ligia, for being an example of true hospitality and love in action. Thank you, John, THE most amazing husband in all the known Universe, for insisting that I engage this adventure (even when it wasn’t possible for you to join me), for encouraging me to go forward no matter what, and for your love and support EVERY step of the way. And thank you, Romania, and ancestors for welcoming me “home” with open arms. …May this little travelogue encourage you to engage the adventure that is calling YOU, be a catalyst for your courage to move onward, upward and forward in whatever ways are meaningful to you, and to allow yourself to fully, madly, deeply, live Life on FIRE! *To see footage of “Cascada Pișoaia”, the magical waterfall I referenced, visit: https://youtu.be/LgUOaUMmDg?si=hcVEPK1hDFlxPlpR. A Spiritual Destination
Crestone’s yellow Ziggurat built by the father of Queen Noor of Jordan as a shrine for prayer and meditation. 14
An inspirational pilgrimage to Crestone, Colorado, lives up to its reputation as “the most spiritual place in North America.” By Jo Mooy Thirteen years after first seeing the signs, “Crestone, Home of the UFOs” and “Crestone, A Spiritual Destination” we planned a summer vacation to Colorado. With a prayer for a “Most Benevolent Outcome,” three of us packed up the SUV, and headed southwest from Denver on a 235mile journey through the mountains, in rain and sleet, to Crestone. After a four-hour slog, we pulled into the driveway of an Airbnb that we rented sight unseen, where we were greeted by Tibetan prayer flags flying from pinyon pines on the property. Smiles turned to wonder when we saw a solar geodesic dome off the deck. Inside the dome our host had planted a Japanese vegetable garden with a bamboo watering system that was presided over by a Jade Ho-Tai Buddha. “What is this place?” we asked. Crystals and symbols were embedded in the sidewalk that ended with a meditating Buddha statue at the front door of the home. Inside, a three-foot tall bronze Kwan Yin in the living room stood in welcome. She was joined by a bronze statue of Padmasambhava, founder of Tibetan Buddhism, who anchored the open kitchen and dining area. Every room was graced with a sacred painting from Native American to Buddhist disciplines holding space. Our “spiritual trek” to a “spiritual retreat home” in “spiritual Crestone” was a clear signal this journey had been mysteriously anointed. Crestone, (population 140, yes 140!) nestles against the Sangre de Cristo mountains in southwestern Colorado. For thousands of years, it was a most sacred place to the native tribes who went there for healing and peaceful resolutions to disagreements. They called this area the Bloodless Valley. That feeling of sanctity,
peace and healing is palpable and you sense you’ve entered a holy area which easily encases the visitor. Others who came over the years clearly felt the same enchantment because Crestone is home to 17 spiritual centers, representing Buddhist, Bon, Shinto, Sufi, Zen, Christian, Hindu, Persian and New Age disciplines. Adding to the spiritual magic, Crestone is also a Dark Skies Community that’s recognized internationally as a Dark Sky Sanctuary. This means homes are legally restricted from using outdoor lights. At night, the skies become velvety black, and at 8,000 feet the stars seem touchable by simply reaching up. It was a wondrous thrill to stand in awe, in the stillness of the night skies, with friends on the same path. Complete silence enveloped us as we stared at the star systems and reverently let our experiences flow and blend as a holy essence descended upon us. We chose three spiritual centers to visit using a dowsing pendulum to confirm the choices. Getting to any of them wasn’t easy. Paved roads surrender their asphalt to narrow dirt roads which become rutted trails holding on to the side of the mountains. Once you arrive, you still need to climb the rest of the way up the mountain to the site. The altitude probably contributes to the sense of isolation, but up so high the sense of sanctity and serenity was captivating. Whatever deity one believed in was present, and if you didn’t believe in one, the grandeur of the snow-capped mountains touching the skies insisted you believe in something. We began at the yellow Ziggurat built by the father of Queen Noor of Jordan, who was so enchanted by the area that he bought the land and mountain and put up the Ziggurat as a shrine for prayer and meditation. Hugging the tower’s wall, we climbed the spiral walkway to the top
on a non-OSHA approved two-foot-high barrier that was supposed to keep us from falling over the side. If you enter a dwelling where the scent of incense lingers in the atmosphere your past experiences will trigger sacred memories. So too did the Crestone Mountain Zen Center which was founded by the successor to Suzuki Roshi (Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind) and at his direction. Brian, a Zen Buddhist monk and 30-year practitioner, guided us into the sanctuary of the monk’s meditation hall. Though we were only four individuals including Brian, it felt as though a long lineage of monks and nuns were still seated on the empty benches watching us. Dozens of exquisite relics and statues, some 900 years old, were placed around the altar. A treasured Great Tibetan Bowl* sat at the side of the altar. Brian solemnly and reverently struck it three times as the reverberating sound filled the cavern of the hall, echoing off the walls and filling our bodies and senses with his prayer. On our last day we went to The Stupa not knowing there were two Stupas in Crestone. (Of course!) We headed to the one near town. But, the Universe had other ideas, directing the GPS to take us back up the mountain to the Tashi Gomang Stupa. This drive was extremely difficult, as switchbacks and washed out roads had us staring into oblivion. Halfway up Tibetan prayer flags were strung across a wild river indicating we were on the right path. After one more switchback, a 43-foot Stupa filled the windshield of the car where it was perched on the canyon *Click this link if you’d like to hear it: Great Tibetan Bowl. South Crestone Lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. side of the mountain. The Tashi Stupa was built by the 16th Karmapa, who escaped Tibet during the Chinese invasion. He chose this mountain range because it reminded him of Tibet. Thousands have made pilgrimages to this Stupa, including Rinpoches and Llamas from all over the world. We offered prayers at this site, then walked
the base of the Stupa 16 times chanting the well-known Tibetan prayed, Om Mani Padme Hum. On the road down the mountain, we again marveled that the GPS refused to take us to the small Stupa in the valley, but detoured us to this one. Yes, Crestone is a spiritual destination and a sacred haven. It’s called the “the most spiritual place in North
America.” And, it more than lived up to it’s reputation. I hope you found this pilgrimage account as inspirational as we did experiencing it. Yes, we’ll go back! And maybe you will be inspired to make the journey too. We still have 12 more centers to visit. As for the Home of the UFOs—yes we saw them but that’s a story for another time.

Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

Five practical ways to help you open up to new experiences. By Jowanna Daley I am not, by nature, an adventurous person—but being open to trying new things has been very rewarding and helped me grow beyond anything I could have imagined. Learning how to embrace new experiences can be challenging—I know—but it’s worth the effort! Here are five practical tips to help you to embrace new ventures.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING OPEN TO NEW ADVENTURES
Chances are, when you think of someone on a new adventure, you imagine a person skydiving or walking on hot coals. However, learning to be open to new experiences is not necessarily about risky behavior or becoming an adrenaline junkie. It’s about stepping outside your comfort zone and exploring something new. It’s vital to be open to new experiences because we learn from them, which allows us to achieve personal growth. Trying new things can also help us through challenging times. Of course, personal growth is reason enough to venture away from what’s familiar, but there are many other benefits: • You learn more about yourself. • You appreciate and learn from other people and cultures. • It helps you understand the world from someone else’s perspective. • It can help you be more open-minded and tolerant. • You develop new skills. • You unlock a world of unforeseen opportunities and possibilities.
FIVE PRACTICAL TIPS TO BEGIN EMBRACING NEW EXPERIENCES
Are you ready to try something new? Then let’s review practical things you can do to embrace the unknown in your life. 1. Acknowledge your fear. The first step to being more open to new experiences is acknowledging any fear of them. For some, fear can be paralyzing.
Taking the time to recognize and process your fear ahead of time can help you take control of the situation. 2. Create a benefits list that outweighs the pain from your fear. Have you ever seen some of the shows with people doing anxiety-producing activities like getting in a bed of snakes for a prize? If you are terrified of snakes, there’s a high probability that no one could pay you enough to be in a room with even one snake! Our brains avoid pain at all costs, and rewards alone cannot convince us to try something that brings us psychological or physical pain. However, writing a list where the benefits outweigh the fear associated with something new can help you prepare. It also allows you to take control of the fear. 3. Ask questions. Asking questions can be a great way to understand a new experience if you feel scared or uncertain. Questions can help you better understand the potential risks and rewards. Learning about what you are going to do can also give you more confidence by providing more information and allowing you to make an informed decision. Furthermore, asking questions can help you find mentors or resources for advice and guidance as you embark on your new experience. 4. Take small steps. Some may confuse learning to step outside their comfort zone with their self-worth. Don’t feel like you have to take on a terrifying experience or one that goes beyond your comfort zone. Start small and celebrate big! Baby steps lead to more confidence and more significant ventures! 5. Give yourself grace. Learning to be more open to new experiences is not something you conquer all at once. It comes with peaks and valleys. Hence, you must be gentle with yourself. Reflect on your progress and get support should you need it. New experiences do not have to be terrifying—just new. And trying something new does not measure your worthiness; you are worthy already. Start simple and start small, and new experiences will help build your mindset and confidence. Take the first step today!

Expect a Miracle

When the vibrations going out from us are in harmony with our soul and our soul path, the responses can feel awesome. By Spencer Rouse What is a miracle, anyway? Divine intervention in human affairs? I believe that happens. But let’s look a little more deeply into this. A miracle might appear as an unexpected remission in a serious health condition. Or it could be something simpler, such as surprise money that arrives just as a bill comes due. Whether dramatic or mundane, miracles are unexpected blessings that fill a need, satisfy a deep longing, or resolve a situation. A miracle is evidence of an unanticipated positive flow of energy that shows up for us. Perhaps this energy will manifest strictly as Divine intervention. Other times, it can manifest as our co-creative effort with soul guidance in harmony with the Divine. Our soul is our true, complete, energetic self, not the human body with mind, emotions and personality. It is a repository for love, compassion, gratitude, generosity and purity. Our soul is part of God. It is our deepest, wisest self. It knows who we are and what is best for us, more so than our conscious minds know. It can be considered standing by, waiting for us to seek it out. It does not interfere until we reach inward for its wisdom.
Our day-to-day existence tends to operate from the ego or mind—until we learn to summon soul wisdom. We are living and learning in a world of duality, and we are practicing co-creativity. Our efforts may be directed towards achieving what others have achieved, what makes us feel special, or perhaps to feel accepted. Functioning at this level generally produces limited results, but we learn from our efforts. Some things work for us, and others do not. We get to try something different. When we start to long for something more substantial, the vibration of our soul is summoned. When we are in harmony with the soul’s vibration, the energy that goes out from us is stronger and more expansive. We attract what we need to stay on our soul path, achieve and expand. How does this happen? The simple explanation is that the expanded vibrations from us match up with vibrations “out there” that are in harmony with our deeper needs. Think peace, joy, growth and expansion. Think Law of Attraction. Like attracts like. What we send out comes back to us. When the vibrations going out from us are in harmony with our soul and our soul path, the responses can feel awesome. The vibrations from our soul seek a connection with all other vibrations. It
finds a connection with those who are a match. That connection can be with plants, animals and anything in God’s creation. We do not have to be consciously aware of all of this. Sometimes we are. Sometimes, we catch a glimmer. Sometimes, we reach other vibrations so in tune with our specific needs that we receive a response, an answer, or a completion, and our needs of the moment are filled, often from an unexpected source. (Remember the wider, stronger vibrational range we send out when we involve the soul?) We call these responses blessings. They are often unexpected and powerful enough that we call them miracles. What prevents us from receiving blessings and miracles all the time? Nothing. Nothing except our willingness to pray deeply and sincerely and then wait with faith for the response. Nothing except our ability to accept what may differ from what we expect. Nothing except our willingness to accept that there will likely be a greater, richer, more satisfying, and complete resolution than we can imagine. Nothing, as long as we are really able to give up control over the nature of the results. Open your heart. Quiet your mind. Do your part of the work, then expect a miracle!

Unshakeable Belief
22
You can make it if you believe you can make it! By Anthony Talmage There is an indispensable tool for anyone seeking to achieve their objectives. Those who haven’t got it are doomed to eternal frustration and failure. Whether you are trying to manifest abundance in your life, heal a physical ailment, or connect with your intuition, the key to unlocking your full potential is...BELIEF. It sounds so ordinary, doesn’t it? And you’ll probably retort that of course you have belief. You wouldn’t attempt any project without believing it could be achieved. But, is it the right kind of belief? Unshakeable? A deepdown conviction that, no matter what, you’re going to succeed? Or is your belief a fair-weather friend who fades away just when you need their support most. So your first step to success is to believe in your belief—that it will stay with you whatever life throws at you. OK, now that you know what kind of belief you must have, here are some quotes from battle-hardened experts who know how important it is:
“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”— Theodore Roosevelt. This famous quote from the 26th President of the United States encapsulates the power of belief to propel us forward towards our goals. When we believe in ourselves and our abilities, we are more likely to take action and persevere in the face of obstacles.
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”—Napoleon Hill.
Napoleon Hill, author of the classic self-help book Think and Grow Rich, understood the importance of belief in achieving success. He asserted that our thoughts have the power to shape our reality, and that by visualizing our desired outcomes, and truly believing in their possibility, we can manifest them into existence.
“Belief is the ignition switch that gets you off the launching pad.”—Denis Waitley. Denis Waitley, author and motivational speaker, uses a powerful metaphor to describe the role of belief in achieving our objectives. Just as an ignition switch is necessary to start a rocket launch, belief is the starting point for any endeavor. These quotes from celebrities are just a few that emphasize the importance of belief. But why is it so crucial to achieving our goals? If you don’t believe, nothing will happen. Or even worse, something will happen, but it’ll be the opposite of what you want! Belief, or faith if you like, is indispensable if you want to achieve your objectives. So, if you desire to tap into, say, the psychic secrets of the Universe, you’ve got to believe the Universe has got psychic secrets. And then you must believe that they are accessible to you. And then you must believe you are worthy of receiving those secrets and that you are capable of handling them. Belief can overcome the doubts and fears that hold us back. When we believe in ourselves and our abilities, we are less likely to be deterred by negative thoughts and external obstacles, enabling us to focus our
energy on achieving our goals and manifesting our desires. But there’s more to it than that. If there ever were a “secret” to gaining success it’s this: By believing with all our heart that we will achieve our objective, we’re handing our trust over to the Universe, and the Universe sets things in motion for us, and the Universe will never let us down. That special kind of belief helps us to open our minds to new possibilities. When we believe that there is more to the world than what we can see, hear and touch, we are more likely to be open to the possibility of experiences outside of our daily normality. For instance, this openness allows us to receive psychic information more easily. Of course, belief alone is not enough—it must be combined with action and effort to produce results. A well-known saying is: God (the Universe) helps those who help themselves. But without belief, even the most skilled and talented psychic practitioner may struggle to achieve their objectives. Why am I talking about psychic practitioners? Because, if you believe that you are connected to the Universal Consciousness, you are calling on powers beyond our five senses, and that is the key to mental, physical and emotional breakthroughs. And that makes you a psychic practitioner (perhaps at this stage an apprentice one). “I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we’re all teachers—if we’re willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door.” So said American actress,
23
singer, writer, and producer Marla Gibbs, best known for her role as the sassy maid Florence Johnston on the popular 1970s sitcom, “The Jeffersons.” Throughout her career, she credited her success to her unwavering belief in herself and her abilities, and her willingness to trust the Universe and take risks. Her quote emphasizes the power of belief and faith in achieving goals and finding meaning in the people and experiences that cross our paths.
This reminds me of something I should have told you earlier in this article. That is to tap into the powers of our intuition (aka, the Universe) we need to MAKE A DECISION TO NOTICE the response. If we don’t look and listen, we won’t see or hear anything! So, summing up, if you are seeking to tap into the power of psychic abilities to achieve your goals, remember the importance of belief. Visualize your desired outcomes, affirm your belief in their
possibility, take action towards your objectives with confidence and determination and stay alert for responses. With belief as your starting point, there is no limit to what you can achieve in partnership with the Cosmic Consciousness. If I still haven’t convinced you, would you believe the word of America’s best-known media executive, actress, talk show host, television producer and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey? Her guiding philosophy is, “You become what you believe.”

The Little Things

Small wonders that inspire and fill us with awe help us soften around the edges of our distress. By Mary Boutieller As we go about our day, we may or may not notice the little things. There are small things that inspire and fill us with awe, like a beautiful flower on the cusp of opening; and other things that make us want to scream, like being brushed off by a friend. All day long, these things happen…We wake up tired and the toaster isn’t working: Ugh; our spouse does the breakfast dishes even when it isn’t their “turn”: Yay. On and on, these moments flow in and out of our day. So it has been for me lately. I’ve been noticing both the highs: a really cool marbled orb weaver spider making its home on our porch; and the lows: feeling frustrated with some HOA board members over details that, in the scheme of things, mean nothing. These little skirmishes won’t bring about world peace, feed the hungry or do anything for anybody a year from now, but boy oh boy, have I been tied up in a knot about it. I’ve spent several days just breathing, thinking, and trying not to respond without first figuring out why I’m reacting and what buttons are being pushed. Yoga helps a lot. Moving our bodies when we are stressed is
one of the best ways to de-stress, so I walk, do yoga, clean the house… Today, I just sat quietly for a little while and let my mind take me where it wanted. It led me to Mark Nepo’s book: The Half-Life of Angels, and to his poem: Ever Toward. In it, he writes: “Let me get up when I’m down and open when I’m closed. Let me give one more time than I think possible and receive one more time than I resist. Let me stop trying to delineate life and keep trying to release it. Let me find agreement with all I don’t understand so I can stay as brave as the tops of trees that never stop reaching for the sky and accepting as the kelp along the ocean floor that lives to bend with the current.” His words caused me to pause in a big way, as I opened to what I was resisting. What’s interesting is that we don’t have to understand why. We don’t have to name it or explain it. We just need to soften around the edges of our distress. Once we do, our hearts take down their guard and, perhaps, we see the other person as a human being. We realize that we don’t understand everything. We understand that some hurts might be old hurts.
Instead of pushing away, we invite in. Instead of making ourselves understood, we try to understand. This isn’t always easy for me, and it doesn’t mean that I agree with their point of view. It means that there is more than one way of looking at things—at life, and that even in the nitpicky, bothersome details of life, there is something to glean. What I’m hoping, through all of this, is a better awareness of how these nuisance details take up such valuable real estate in my life, and how they can turn a day filled with awe into a day filled with complaints. I want to keep it in perspective. A friend asked me if the things I was upset about were really all that important, and in this case, they aren’t. I could let it all go right now and not much would change. I’m not sure I can go that far, but maybe I find a place somewhere in the middle that isn’t “us versus them.” I am beyond grateful for these little windows of wisdom and the gifts that show themselves when I most need them. It’s amazing how we can sometimes just thumb through a book of poems and find exactly what we need. I’m in awe.

LEAD ON 29
Five patterns of leadership that will change your business and your life. By Darrel L. Hammon Lately, I have been thinking about leadership in coaching and helping others. Most of my experience comes from being a leader in a variety of capacities and being around good and not-so-good leaders throughout my career. If you’re looking for ways to inspire people and create remarkable results, read and adopt these five patterns to become a better leader and coach.
1. HAVE AND SHARE A VISION.
Good leaders have a vision. They know what they want to do, and the amazing thing is they don’t keep it to themselves. Rather, they share that vision with all within their sphere of influence and beyond. They gain vision from the different perspectives of every corner of their organization. Their vision encompasses everyone, and soon the leader’s vision is the organization’s because everyone helped create it. It’s important to help emerging leaders become more engaged and more effective. Author Warren Bennis, a pioneer of the contemporary field of leadership studies, once said: “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”
2. EXHIBIT STRONG VALUES.
In today’s ever-growing, vigorous workplace, good, solid values are hard to come by. Dishonesty, disloyalty, disrespect, and other “disses” run rampant in our society. A few years ago, Harry M. Jansen Kraemer Jr. wrote a Forbes article entitled “The Only True Leadership Is Values-Based Leadership.” His point is essentially that good leaders exude strong values of honesty, integrity, persistence, positive attitudes, consistency, trust, and many, many other positive traits.
30
3. THINK CLEARLY.
Trends of making money and gaining more power often cloud the real vision of what needs to be done and the decisions that need to be made. Good leaders maintain a pattern of clear thought. They can continue to see the big picture despite the boulders and debris that periodically clutter the working mind and the pathway to a successful enterprise. They can shoosh away the clamor and clutter by keeping a clear head and mind and by maintaining sound principles.
4. INSPIRE PEOPLE TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS.
All organizations are blessed with people who are pulling their full weight. Good leaders follow the pattern of inspiring those people and others who may not be measuring up to do things they wouldn’t normally do. Think of coaches who have put together a group of mediocre players and created a championship team because they can inspire the players to work hard, think smarter, and do things they wouldn’t normally do. The Leadership Institute touts, “Leadership is the art of leading others to deliberately create a result that wouldn’t have happened otherwise.” Our coaching clients want to do and accomplish extraordinary things. Let’s help them!
5. SIMPLIFY THE COMPLICATED.
General Collin Powell once said, “Great leaders are almost always great simplifiers who can cut through argument, debate and doubt to offer a solution everybody can understand.” That is one of the biggest challenges leaders come up against. Complex ideas face all of us at one time or another. The key is how to break down the complex to the simple so that the rest of us
can understand it. Simplicity in an era of chaos and challenges will only enhance our objectives. Good leaders and coaches show these patterns of leadership and more. They are the ones who reach down and pick us up while moving rapidly toward the goal. They take time to show compassion and exhibit a willingness to give a sense of clarity that will trumpet us to the front with them. When the people following are successful, leaders will be successful. So, good leaders will always walk side-by-side with others
along the path of an organization’s growth and success because they know the patterns, live the patterns, and, sometimes, create the new patterns. Author’s Note: If you are looking for more good information on this topic, Brittney Helmrich from Business News Daily wrote an article titled “33 Ways to Define Leadership.” She quoted a number of thought leaders and CEOs from around the country after asking business owners and experts to define what leadership means to them.
Darrel L. Hammon has been dabbling in writing in a variety of genres since his college days, having published poetry, academic and personal articles/essays, a book titled Completing Graduate School Long Distance (Sage Publications), and a picture book, The Adventures of Bob the Bullfrog: Christmas Beneath a Frozen Lake (Outskirts Press). He also was the editor of the Journal of Adult Education (Mountain Plains Adult Education Association). Most of his essay/article writing has focused on topics about growing up, leadership, self-awareness, motivation, marriage/dating, and educational topics. Some of these articles/essays are in Spanish because Darrel is bilingual in Spanish/English, having lived in Chile, Dominican Republic, and southern California, and having worked with Latino youth and families all of his professional life in higher education. THE POW SELF-AWA

Why we need to be our own coach. By Marla J. Albertie In the pursuit of personal and professional growth, one of the most crucial skills to develop is self-awareness— the foundation of emotional intelligence (EQ), a concept that has gained significant recognition in recent years. Let’s explore why we need to be our own coach and delve into the transformative power of self-awareness, the first tenet of EQ. Why be your own coach, you may ask? First let’s briefly define coaching: Coaching is a process where individuals receive guidance and support from a mentor or coach to maximize their potential and achieve specific goals. While external coaches can provide valuable insights, the ability to coach oneself is an indispensable skill. Now here’s why you need to be your own coach: 1) Continuous Self-Improvement: External coaches can only be with you for a limited time. Being your own coach allows you to engage in continuous selfimprovement, adapting to changing circumstances and challenges as they arise; in other words, you are always with yourself. 2) Self-Reliance: Relying solely on external guidance can create dependency. When you learn to coach yourself, you become self-reliant, making it easier to navigate life’s twists and turns. You must learn to trust your intuition. 3) Timely Feedback: External coaches may not always be available when you need them. Self-coaching enables you to provide yourself with immediate feedback and make real-time adjustments. 4) Ownership of Growth: You are the best a dvocate for your own growth. Being your own coach empowers you to take charge of your personal and professional development.
THE POWER OF SELF-AWARENESS
Self-awareness, the first pillar of EQ, is the ability to recognize and understand your own emotions, strengths, weaknesses, values and motivations. It involves honest selfreflection and an acute awareness of how your actions and emotions impact yourself and those around you. Here’s why self-awareness is paramount: 1) Improved Decision-Making: When you’re aware of your emotions and biases, you can make more rational
34

decisions. Self-aware individuals are less likely to be driven by impulsive reactions/emotions and are better equipped to assess situations o bjectively. Effective Communication: Self-awareness enhances your ability to communicate with others. You can express your thoughts and emotions clearly and empathetically, leading to more productive and harmonious relationships. Emotional Regulation: Understanding your emotional triggers allows you to regulate your reactions. This prevents unnecessary stress, conflicts and impulsive behavior. Goal Achievement: Self-awareness helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses. This knowledge allows you to set realistic goals and develop strategies to achieve them. Enhanced Leadership: Effective leaders are often those who are acutely self-aware. They inspire trust and confidence because they understand their impact on others and continuously strive to improve.
DEVELOPING SELF-AWARENESS
Developing self-awareness is an ongoing process. Here are some strategies to get started: 1) Mindfulness: Regular mindfulness practices, such as meditation and journaling, can help you tune into your thoughts, emotions and reactions. There is much research on mindfulness, and it is only growing, so take time to read up on it. 2) Solicit Feedback: Ask for honest feedback from trusted friends, family and colleagues. Their perspectives can provide valuable insights. You cannot see the frame because of the picture but others can. 3) Self-Reflection: Set aside time for self-reflection. Consider your values, goals, and the impact of your actions on others, another time to use your journal. 4) Keep a Journal: As mentioned, journaling your thoughts and feelings can help you track patterns and identify areas for improvement. 5) Always Seek Learning: Engage in continuous learning and personal development. The more you know about yourself, the better you can grow.
In a world that constantly challenges us, self-awareness and self-coaching are invaluable tools for personal and professional success. Being your own coach, armed with a deep understanding of your emotions and actions, empowers you to navigate life’s complexities with confidence and resilience. By embracing self-awareness, the cornerstone of emotional intelligence, you can unlock your full potential and lead a more fulfilling life.

When a person moves from material consciousness into heart-centered consciousness, it may appear that their old karmic pattern has ended. It has. In its place is a reflection of the new person and their unconditional love for all. As a fundamental law of the universe, however, karma never ceases to exist. This property of creational action is interwoven in the fabric of the living universe.
Before Creation, there existed only Infinite Being as perfect, unchanging consciousness. Then, Infinite Being entered an active mode in order to achieve Creation by using the three creative principles of thought, feeling and motion. This active expression of Infinite Being then created the nine-density structure within the envelope THE CENTRAL SUN OF THE UNIVERSE of the universe.* Those three creative principles also represent the This is the power source of all life in the created divine functions of creation, preservation, and sustenance universe. THE WATCHERS
These are the guardians of all of Creation. The Watchers, or Lords of Karma, ceaselessly observe and adjust the universe to keep it in perfect balance in accordance with the all-pervasive law of action and reaction. The function of the Watchers is to protect all life in the universe. When necessary, they immerse themselves into the deeper densities in order to manage details or to initiate new projects within the universe. One such project is very familiar to us: The creation of human consciousness and its gradual immersion into deeper, and therefore more sharply focused, layers of density. Like all layers of consciousness, we are directly connected to the Watchers. They are part of the spiritual lineage which connects us to the ultimate state from which we all came, that of Infinite Being. In third-density physical existence, karma is often perceived as a negative because it reflects every thought and action, including fear and hate, with fear being a reminder that courage is essential to human evolution. However, karma is simply a law of natural, perfect balance as it guarantees that all created thoughts and actions generate appropriate experiences. In physics, it is stated as the law, “Action and reaction are opposite and equal.” It is neither

Today, as expressions of Infinite Being, we function as self-aware humans, operating under unique conditions in this grand adventure called life. Then we become ascended humans and, eventually, we rejoin the larger, cosmic scheme of things on our path back to the original source from which we came. We are one with Infinite Being in its ultimate state and we are connected to all of its levels of manifestation. While the One Creator is the original creative power, we are also endowed with the ability to create our reality as a living reflection of our thoughts, our beliefs, and our view of life and its possibilities. Within us, we have unlimited potential to create lives which are full of joy, purpose and meaning. Within your life, you can choose any path that you determine, and, once you set an intention, a pathway opens up for you to fulfill that intention.
