BATHING AREA FOR DOGS
We have a full installed bathing area to your disposal which is open on Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 7am to 3pm.
FREE DOG SITTER
Bring your dog, together with his cage and our professional Dog Sitter will take care of your dogs while you attend seminars, compete in the competition or go to the party on Saturday evening. The Dog Sitter can be found in the reception area in a separate room. This service is free, there is no need to pre-register. It is absolutely forbidden to leave any dog in any vehicle at any time during Groomania. Dog Sitter opening hours Saturday from 8am until 12pm Sunday from 8am until 6pm
SOLO CLIPPERS COMPETITION
This is a challenge for the trendy groomers who can style any breed using only clippers. The hair may be lifted with combs or fingers and any kind of clippers with or without snap on combs is allowed. Scissors are not allowed during this competition, after the competition ends the competitors can have 10 minutes to use the scissors for tidying and finishing touches. You will be disqualified if you use the scissors during the competition! (Open to all breeds)

Every seminar and speaker will have its’ own dedicated room to keep things close and personal - The spoken language will be mostly English (unless told otherwise) and will not be translated to guarantee a more natural flow during the session. - Asking questions during or after the seminar is always possible and advisable! - During registration, let us know which one of the seminars you will most likely attend to so we can act accordingly. - Discrete switching between rooms remains possible and first come, first serve will apply to guarantee yourself a seat. Tour of Champions The “Tour of Champions” is an International Tour of World-Class Grooming Competitions supported and recognized by member shows. Each participating show will offer the opportunity to their respective Tour of Champion winner to attend (1) show of their choice from the other Tour shows to compete in the following year’s Tour challenge. Participating shows will provide round trip airfare to their Tour winner, host shows will provide lodging and entry into the appropriate Tour contest. The Tour winner will be named from the Best in Show winner of each show- and must compete in the same class which they were selected from when they travel for the Tour of Champions. The American Irina “Pina” Pinkusevich” has been a pet stylist for over 20 years now! She is a very competitive groomer and educates in the United States. During her first 3 years in the competition ring, she achieved an unbelievable amount of success! She was the #1 groomer in the States and 2 years out of 3 she competed for winning multiple BIS and BOA awards as well as the prestigious Lynne Carver Award. She was nominated twice for a Chrystal Cardinal Achievement Award for American Groomer of the year and was a part of the Gold winning American team of 2009 at Dacau, Germany! Pina retired from active competing once she made the Groom Team USA ranking #1 to now go and compete for the World Champion title again in 2011 at Groomania in Belgium! Right now Pina is focusing on giving educational seminars and for this is traveling around the world. At her hometown, she’s also teaching at the Merifield School of dog care at Fort Lauderdale. She is also a champion in breeding toy poodles together with the well-known Kiyara Kennels!

During his competitive career he has won over 230 titles in America, Africa, Asia & Europe & over 30 BIS all breeds & Specialties. He has won multiple Gold Medals in Hand Stripping, Scissoring and Spaniels & numerous Best in Show awards at Iberzoo, Ciseaux D’Or, BGA, Cantrell Groom, & the Oster Invitational. He is EGA judge, judging in Orlando, Bélgina, Spain and Italy. Luis is part of the Artero World Team & travels throughout the world educating groomers through seminars & demos. Now also he is working to Artero Company as Product Manager.

International dog grooming legend Colin Taylor is the first to admit grooming man’s best friend is no walk in the park. “To be a good pet stylist you first have to have respect for dogs and secondly, you have to be able to handle them well.” Colin’s canine connection was formed from a very young age whilst he worked in a pet shop in London. At 16 he started his grooming career at the London Academy of grooming, in 1985. Then he studied dog grooming at the Hong Kong Doggie House. After his training he spent 18 years working at grooming school and salons across the United States. He wrote the book ‘What Would Colin Do? 101 Situations and Solutions for the Everyday Groomer’ to share his expertise. Colin travels the world giving seminars on grooming and judging at grooming conferences. He boasts titles such as certified master groomer in both the United States and United Kingdom, winner of the World Cup Grooming Games and multiple year member of Groom Team USA.

Umberto judged in more than 250 competitions, gave more than 350 demonstrations and was International Groomer of the Year 1987. Now he’s Oster Ambassador and President of the EGA.

Lorena Merati has been breeding since 1983, with the kennel name Samarcanda, Standard poodles and Airedale Terriers. Dogs from her kennel have finished as champions all around Europe, USA and Canada. Many times, they even won BIS in important dog shows. She’s a member of the grooming commission FCI and always involved in the dog world. Studying breeding and genetics, especially related to pure breed dogs, has always peaked her interest. She’s the writer of the book ‘Canis Lupus Familiaris Barbone’, one of the most complete scriptures on poodles ever published. She also writes editorials about dog breeds for specialized magazines. As international ENCI/FCI judge, for FCI group 3, group 4, group 5, group 9 and all the Italian breeds, she has been judging all around Europe. Lorena is an EGA all-round judge and has been judging national and international competitions and giving seminars and about poodles and some other breeds.

From the day she was born, Fay her childhood started with cute and small animals, It’s not only a kind of fate, but also an important reason for her to pursue a pet- related career. Her family was in the music business, but with all the dogs and cats, it makes her boring Music study a little bit more interesting. Because music is an indispensable part of het life, Fay choose to be a music teacher. After meeting her husband, they decided to open a grooming shop because of the unconditional love for dogs and because pet beauty is such a beautiful art. The biggest touch came from Fan Yu’s grooming lecture on bichon, which made her determined to become his student. Finally, in November 2018, Fay learned bichon grooming from Fan Yu. After that, she learned creative grooming through continuous practice. Fay will always choose music and dogs. Because they let her see the beautiful side of the world and with the love for our industry, she will always try to do better.

Doris grew up on a farm and fell in love with dogs at the age of 9 years, when the Entlebucher Sennenhund “Waldi” joined her family. She started to work as groomer in 1993 in one of the best grooming salons of Switzerland. During this education she came to know and love Poodles. In 1998 she started her dog show career with her own Standard Poodles. Since 2005 Doris has been running her own grooming shop in Kreuzlingen and began to educate trainees. In 2009 she started successfully participating in competitions with Poodles, some years later in the scissoring class with Black Russian Terrier and Kerry Blue Terrier. Since 2012 she has been breeding Kerry Blue Terrier and Standard Poodles. After winning a lot of different prizes at dog shows and grooming competitions, as well best in show with Kerry Blue Terrier and Poodle, she can be called a specialist of Poodles and Pure Breed Scissoring.

Doris developed her experience with Kerry Blue Terrier on dog shows and grooming competitions over the last ten years. On this seminar, she talks about the daily care and she wants to show you what the differences between show grooming and competition grooming are. Is there a way to fuse this different ideas? How important are the waves for this breed and how to work with it? Besides she wants to share her tricks to disguise little faults in the anatomy of a Kerry Blue Terrier.

Yvette began dog grooming at 16, first as an employee and from 2004 Yvette started her own business. Her mentor and coach Ilse Frenk-Kleton has guided Yvette to more and better. In 2009 Yvette started participating in grooming competitions and this with a sublime result. In 2016 Yvette got her first BIS in the Netherlands with a large Poodle, her next BIS in Switzerland in 2017 with her Bichon Frize, and then the next BIS in Belgium with a Bichon Frisé. Yvette is supported by her husband John and their 2 fantastic sons, Kay & Luke.

She will discuss coat preparation and maintenance and proper tools to use while working with this delightful breed. Lienke is and remains a very competitive person, Lienke used to be very active in equestrian sport at a high level. Due to a fall, Lienke was forced to make a carrier switch and resolutely opt for the dog world. Lienke joined her mother who was already active as a dog groomer. Lienke started her education in 2011 and in 2013 her first participation in a grooming competition took place in the Netherlands. This with her great love: the poodle. In addition to grooming competitions and her busy salon, you will also find Lienke at a lot of dog shows with her poodles. Lienke is a passionate groomer who likes to pass on her knowledge to colleagues and gives workshops with a lot of love. Lienke has a lot of beautiful victories on her record: In total she has so far achieved 2 BEST IN SHOWs, 1 Best International overall (Ireland), 7 times gold, 11 times silver and 1 time bronze in the poodle class.

Olga was born and raised in Togliatti. From childhood she was in love with dogs and in 1988 her parents bought a silver miniature poodle puppy. For 30 years and up until this day she has poodles living in her home. She’s always groomed her poodles herself. When other poodle-owners saw her grooming, they asked her to groom their dogs too and with time her customer base grew. Olga has passed exams to become an official dog trainer and judge. During this period, Olga also participated in dog shows. People that saw her dogs at dog shows approached her with requests to prepare their dogs, even other breeds. Eventually she started to work with various kennels and breeds. It became her job and she opened a small grooming cabinet at the vet clinic. She worked there for 15 years. Olga has done courses both for beginners and professionals in Samara and in many other cities in Russia. Olga is also the proud owner of poodle kennel “S Tstetochnoi Poljany” and FCI Group 9 judge for several breeds. For 22 years she’s bred, groomed and showed many beautiful dogs, which were very successful in show rings.

Costin, originally from Romania, moved to England in 2013 where he followed a training at “Dogs Delights Academy” with Julie Lalou Simpson. Costin is the proud owner of 14 dogs and he runs a successful grooming salon and a high-quality grooming school in Godalming, England. He participated in his first grooming competition in 2015 and 2 years later he was very successful at competition level in Europe. He participated in 7 different countries primarily with the Fox Terrier and Poodle. His biggest achievement this year is that Costin is part of the British Team at the world championship. He has given seminars at major events such as Groomania and Jornadas Artero. We summarize his greatest achievements: various podium places at International grooming competitions, Won Up and Coming Groomers 2019, Rising Star award 2019, Resev BIS The Grooming Show 2016, BIS English Grooming Challenge 2017, BIS German Grooming Games 2019, BIS The Grooming Show 2020. One of his biggest goals is to be a recognized EGA judge.

Patricia is very grateful that she was able to learn the trade from Kitty Dekeersgieter. For quite some time she was Kitty’s right hand in the well known and successful grooming salon ‚Salon Kitty’ in Kortrijk. She won several medals in the past during both national and international grooming competitions. After that she started her own business in Brugge which is very successful. During Groomania, Patricia is responsible to prepare all the demo dogs for the demonstrations.

Just by scheduling the right dogs in the correct timeslot or making sure you use the available tools that can help you to not lose any precious time.Not only using the tools correct but to be able to show you the different in time if you use time saving tools is not only fun but so necessary to gain time in all we do. We will show and explain you how you can do more dogs a day, just by the functionality of your work and agenda. Most professional groomers know how to groom, and they have some business skills. But there are certain aspects that are always left on the table and usually are those the most important. We will explain you how you can optimize time, clients & techniques to get more dogs done in the same time and this without losing quality on your grooming.

The bouvier has undergone a true evolution due to its coat structure. Because of this transformation it is sometimes difficult to use the right techniques when modeling the bouvier. Patricia will effortlessly guide you through this demonstration about commercial work and scissoring the bouvier. You learn to distinguish the different coat types and find the balance between scissoring or plucking; this leads to a stunning result. Be sure to take a look at Patricia’s seminar, because this demo will show you the American bouvier, more elegance, but where speed and finish prevail down to the smallest details.

The famous Belgian groomer Peter Vanzeer is, together with his wife Els Tuerlinckx, the founder and owner of “Groomer”, a successful grooming salon and academy with a wide range of practical and breed specific training courses. With more than 25 years of experience as a dog groomer and 20 years of being a specialist and breeder of Welsh Terriers, Irish Terriers and Kerry Blue Terriers, Peter is more than a known value in the grooming world. Peter has a lot of dog shows & national and international cutting competitions on his resume, first as a participant then as a judge. Peter and Els now also have a webshop for Petcosmetics.
