DT700E
Dart Tin Technologies have upped their game with this high performance 3D model
The DT700 with a bavarianDEMON electronic flybarless controller yields a very stable hover
T
om and I have been flying the DT700 for few months and it is the first model we have built from Dart Tin Technologies Company of Shenzhen, China. We are pleasantly surprised by its flight performance and we enjoy its well-behaved hovering, the aerobatics are smooth and instil confidence. I first built the DT700 with a 540 kV motor and I was revving the main rotor at 2200 rpm. The model was a hot rod performer with a 12S LiPo battery and 690 mm length rotor blades; the DT700 was extremely fast. Tom then took over the model for a couple of months and he replaced the motor with a Quantum 4530 500 kV motor. Tom was flying at only 1900 to 2000 rotor speed, which made the helicopter quieter and less intimidating. But the 3D performance was equally fantastic because the Quantum 4530 is a 5000 watt (6.5 hp) motor and Tom uses +13 to -13 degrees of collective travel. With the Quantum 4530, the vertical or horizontal acceleration is blazingly fast, and there is no drop in rpm at any collective setting.
Design FeaturesÂ
The designer went for simplicity and functionality rather than complexity. There is no 2-stage belt drive, push-pull, or DFC (direct flight control) type main rotor control system. Rather the DT700 epitomizes the verdict that it is much easier to design a modern electric R/C helicopter than an old fashioned engine powered flybar
The streamline canopy and ample power from a 5000 watt Quantum 4350-500 motor leads to a fast and fun forward flight equipped helicopter like a Raptor 90 or a Hirobo Eagle. On the old Raptor 90 and Hirobo Eagle or Freya, there is a cooling fan, fan hub, centrifugal clutch, clutch shaft, fan shroud, engine mount, fuel tank, flybar seesaw, Bell-Hiller mixing arms,
washout arms, and push-pull bellcranks. While with the DT700 flybarless electric helicopter all of above components are eliminated. The arrangement of the DT700 mechanics remind us of the JR Forza 700, as with both the

DT700E The arrangement of the mechanics is functional and uncomplicated
The main frame is composed of two 2 mm carbon sheets, with very few plastic parts
The rear portion of the canopy butts together like a Logo 600
The left and right halves of the canopy butt together perfectly
The left and right halves are held together with a magnet. The factory did a nice job on the canopy
There is no restriction on the diameter and height of the motor
A Castle Creations 120 amp ESC and a Castle Creations 20 amp BEC are used
A 6S LiPo battery pack is strapped to each side. The C of G comes out perfectly under the main rotor shaft
