Think of the Algarve in Southern Portugal and most people think of its endless beaches and fabulous climate, which is mild in winter and yet cooled by sea breezes in the heat of summer. However there is much more to the Algarve than just sun and sea. It has a unique charm which derives from the warmth of its people, its Moorish influence and the rich diversity of its majestic landscapes.

Portugal’s beautiful coastlines are characterised by miles of superb sandy beaches, pretty fishing villages with winding narrow streets and some of Europe’s best golf courses. Further inland you will find idyllic white-washed Moorish towns that shimmer in the sunlight over olive and orange groves and brightly coloured, verdant hillsides.

The area is home to some of Europe’s most established luxury resorts which have excellent facilities and settings. A haven for sports enthusiasts, you can enjoy all manner of activities from golfing on the championship golf courses to sailing, surfing and water-skiing to a day at the world class tennis clubs.

Weather: A hot Mediterranean climate which is tempered by the cooling breezes of the Atlantic Ocean. During spring and summer months you can expect sunny and dry conditions. Winter months are mild but subject to rain.
