FROM THE ARCTIC CIRCLE TO THE BLACK SEA – SMALL-SHIP CRUISING AT ITS BEST IN 2019 Portofino
Voyages to Antiquity’s 2019 European cruise programme masterfully blends perennial favourites and thrilling new adventures. In addition to Mediterranean voyages galore and unmissable discoveries of Iceland and the Norwegian Fjords, we are delighted to be returning to the historic resorts of the Black Sea in 2019 after several seasons away. Aegean Odyssey then sails the Baltic for the very first time, revealing the sublime grandeur and artistic treasures of St Petersburg, Tallinn and the Scandinavian capitals. She also makes a maiden sailing to the North Cape, the legendary “Land of the Midnight Sun” high inside the Arctic Circle, to experience the natural world at its wildest and most spectacular.

AWARD-WINNING, SMALL-SHIP CRUISING Classically elegant but far from stuffy, Aegean Odyssey combines the best elements of small-ship cruising with the myriad of benefits of a small ship and an awardwinning focus on cultural enrichment. With an average of just 350 passengers, an exceptional level of service is assured, and its outstanding on-board amenities, from an outdoor pool and sun-deck to a well-stocked library and indulgent spa centre, are perfect for relaxing days at sea. Odyssey Club benefits
• All meals on board Aegean Odyssey
Every ‘Voyage to Antiquity’ is meticulously planned to reveal both the iconic highlights and the off-the-beaten-track gems of the places we visit.
Too many cruise lines charge single travellers a premium for the smallest, poorly located cabins. Not Voyages to Antiquity − we have always treated our many solo cruisegoers with the greatest respect.
If you have travelled with us before, you will receive a loyalty discount on all cruises, plus the following benefits...
• Guided excursions in most ports of call • Expert guest speaker programme • Welcome cocktail party • Complimentary wine with dinner on board • Gratuities to cabin stewards and restaurant staff • Transfers and porterage between airports (once you have cleared customs), hotels and ship abroad
As well as outstanding, thoroughly immersive shore excursions, your cruise may include overnight stays in port or hotels to allow for relaxing evenings ashore, plus overland tours that present an extra dimension of understanding and appreciation of a destination.
We have recently increased the number of dedicated single cabins from 26 to 39, with almost all cabin categories now covered. We offer low single supplements across the board, and some sailings have no supplement to pay at all.
• Leather luggage tags • Odyssey Club tote bag • Exclusive Odyssey Club welcome party on board • Complimentary bottle of wine upon embarkation • Free internet access on board • One free laundry bag per cabin

AWARD-WINNING ENRICHMENT – ON BOARD AND ASHORE Fascinating Shore Excursions
Enriching your experience on board
As your time ashore is an integral part of the cruise experience, our prices include expertly-guided shore excursions in almost every port of call. Just occasionally, on the island of Mykonos for example, we feel that our travellers’ time is better spent exploring independently. In general however, you will have an outstanding selection of guided sightseeing tours from which to choose − comprehensive introductions to the continent’s natural, cultural and historic wonders. Furthermore, we provide QuietVox headsets on our shore excursions, enabling you to always hear the guide’s commentary.
Our celebrated speakers have been carefully selected for their knowledge of the art, history, archaeology, architecture, wine and cuisine of the areas we visit. Two or three guest speakers accompany each cruise, sharing their expertise and insight into the places encountered on a voyage. Allow us to introduce three expert speakers who will be sharing their knowledge on cruises during our 2019 programme.

Declan Taggart has been interested in Viking history, literature and especially religion since he first discovered the stories of their gods Odin, Freyja and Thor as a child. Now he’s writing about those stories himself and recently published his first book How Thor Lost His Thunder, which challenges its readers to fundamentally reimagine the deity Thor, even questioning whether Thor was really worshipped as a god of thunder.
