Learning about what motivates you, and in starting to pay attention to that inner talk you can begin to learn how to best interpret tasks and life situations that affect your ability to navigate and create movement. What you choose to do in your life experiences especially in challenging events, and what leads you to those choices is what motivates you. Shifting your life experiences by changing your mindset when you become aware of what motivates you can generate great fulfilment. The key is to identify what motivates you and to pay attention to that inner talk; how you feel when you have that inner dialogue with yourself, and how you behave as a result of that. When the task or the mundane is present, my motivation is hard to find, and that inner talk becomes a bit more negative, diverging me from moving ahead. When it is something I enjoy, I can find that inner motivation and my inner chatter is more positive. Motivation has two distinct parts. You have Intrinsic Motivation, where you are motivated internally and your self talk dictates your action. And Extrinsic Motivation is where you are motivated by external experiences, there is still inner chatter here, however the experiences come from outside yourself versus within. Intrinsic Motivation is about finding the source within yourself to push yourself beyond your beliefs of your limits and there tends to be a few factors we consider internally when we are seeking to find that inner source of motivation to move ahead in a direction we choose. Identifying these factors can also help you best choose a path that works with you and then take appropriate action to explore an experience. It is important to seek to understand and practice the 3 factors that effect how we are internally motivated.

The Three Aspects to Intrinsic Motivation can Be: 1. Mastery: Discovering your talents and skills 2. Purpose: Having meaning and a place in society 3. Autonomy: Create a sense of self amongst others To further elaborate, we often seek the ability to become good at something, or to hone in on a skill or talent we have, and that is Mastery. When we can create an opportunity to explore our talents, we begin to see how easily we can become motivated. As humans, we seek that connection with ourselves and our abilities. Everyone wants to be good at something. This leads us to the next aspect, which is Purpose. When we feel we have meaning and connection with ourselves, and in our society we can motivate ourselves to do incredible things. When we can find our purpose, our connection to self and the world around us, we experience the fuel of motivation that propels us forward almost innately. And lastly, is Autonomy. Everyone wants to have a space to feel they are independent and can contirbute in a way that is unique to what they can offer. This is where we create our identify and begin to build who we are amongst the people we interact with.

Try this... Ask Yourself These Questions to help you identify your Intrinsic Motivation factors: 1. Mastery: What do you love to do, what are you good at, what do you want to be good at, what are you talents? 2. Purpose: What do I connect with, where do I find meaning in my life, where do I feel mostly connected and present, where do I feel I belong? 3. Autonomy: What can I do to create a sense of self, what can I start doing that focuses on my needs and allows me to discover who I am and who I want to be?
