Welcome to Canada’s Best Community!

A

s you may have heard, in 2019, Maclean’s Magazine declared Burlington Canada’s Best Community to Live In and to Raise a Family. We are honoured to be recognized for the many qualities that make our city such a special place, and we welcome you with open arms to spend some time with us and see for yourself. Our outdoor spaces, trails and sporting events are a great way to get acquainted with our landscape and get your heart rate going and there’s no shortage of ways to get moving and enjoy a little competition. You can take in gorgeous views of nature by hiking the escarpment, paddle boarding along the beachfront of Lake Ontario, or exploring the Royal Botanical Gardens. Our growing parks and splashpads let adventurous kids – and kids at heart – cool off in the summer, swing and slide with their friends, or work on mastering their skateboarding skills. Be sure to join us for some of the many award-winning festivals we host each year, and visit our many galleries and museums to explore new exhibitions that will open your mind and connect with your heart. Take in boutiques and restaurants all across the city for amazing treasures and delicious meals that reflect our growing diversity as well as our unique heritage. Our Tourism Burlington Visitor Centre downtown – now in its 50th year – can help you find anything you’re looking for to make your visit complete. Burlington is special place full of wonderful people and endless things to do. No matter your age, background, or interests, you’ll enjoy experiences here that enrich your body, mind and spirit. Please enjoy your time here and be sure to come back again soon.

#BURLON

Burlington Pier by Tourism Burlington

Burlington has so much to be proud of, not only is it a great city to live in, it is also a wonderful place to visit. It’s a beautiful city with all the amenities of a big metropolitan area but with a small town feel. Nestled along Lake Ontario, it is only 45 minutes from downtown Toronto in the east and Niagara Falls in the west, with the backdrop of the picturesque Niagara escarpment.

Celebrate #BURLON

T

ourism Burlington is proud to be celebrating 50 years of welcoming visitors to our fabulous city . From 1970 - 2003 the Visitor Centre was located in Spencer Smith Park, where Spencer’s at the Waterfront is now located. The centre was situated above the Mohawk Canoe Club and was managed at that time by the Chamber of Commerce.

50 Year Anniversary We've come a long way since the original centre, affectionately nicknamed “The Shack”. In 2003 we moved to our expansive Visitor Centre next to the Performing Arts Centre and steps from the waterfront in Downtown Burlington. With expanded summer hours, clean washrooms, free wifi and being cycle- friendly, we are a must stop for visitors to Burlington.
