Hello again,

Everyone at Trend tends to think of May as the start of summer, which in our ever-optimistic minds, stretches out from now till mid-October in an endless haze of floaty dresses, convertibles, warm days, chilled champagne and lots of time with family, friends and loved ones.

Of course, there’s just the slightest smidge of a possibility that the Scottish weather won’t co-operate with our plans. It’s not unknown for us to get a sudden hailstorm or snow in June, so this issue is packed with ideas of places to go and things to do just in case we don’t get a perfect summer. You’ll find ideas for a quick city break, making the most of a small garden and outdoor play toys, tech that will actually improve your life, ideas on where to eat out and a feast of colourful fashion too.

Come rain or come shine, we’re lucky to live in such a superb area, from the wilderness of the Cairngorms, to our sandy beaches, forest walks, castles and picturesque villages, local independent shops and restaurants. Let’s all try to make the most of it this May and June.
