Optometrist Nicola Smiles is now welcoming patients to her state of the art new practice in Stonehaven’s Cameron Street, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the Market Square Car Park.
Nicola explained, ‘I’m both a dispensing optician and an optometrist, with a wealth of knowledge and experience which has allowed me to create a practice that combines a professional, friendly and pleasant service with superior quality equipment and fabulous high quality frames and spectacle lenses

‘My new boutique practice is in an old bank building at 28 Cameron Street. I’ve sourced spectacle frames and sunglasses from all over the world. Many are handmade from sustainable sources. There is a style for all tastes and every face, with an emphasis on being a bit different.
‘I stock Odette Lunetttes, Mykita, Danielle Rattray, Tree eyewear, Armani and Prada among others. The emphasis is on quality and current styles. I also collaborate with a local eyewear designer Danielle Rattray with the frames being hand made in France.
‘Customers should never be rushed when choosing frames. You can browse through our antique cabinets, rather than face an overwhelming wall of almost identical frames. I help with frame selection. It’s important to consider individual style, face shape, skin tone and hair style as well as personality and lifestyle.
‘I provide comprehensive eye examinations, funded by the NHS, using state of the art equipment with extended appointment times to give the best examination and service possible. I’m with the customer the whole way through their experience at Nicola Smiles Optometry – it’s a truly bespoke service. Outside prescriptions are welcome so you don’t have to wait until you are due an eye exam to choose new glasses.
