Message from the CEO Welcome to the 2021 Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce Business Directory. Thank you for taking the time to use this directory and all the great information it contains. 2020 was a year that most of us are glad is in the rearview mirror. We all had to face numerous challenges in our personal and professional lives. But better times are coming soon and we will take the lessons we learned to come back stronger. The Chamber pivoted to better support our community through the pandemic and beyond. I can say without hesitation, during the height of the pandemic, our business community’s voice was heard and we helped shape government responses and supports many times. We continue to be your go-to source of information for COVID-19 government updates, we regularly host webinars with industry experts and government officials, as well as provide unique avenues for our members to connect. ATINA Brewing Co. was inspired by community builders who wanted to create a gathering place in their own community. Patina’s location, in the heart of historic downtown Port Coquitlam, was chosen because of the opportunity for walkability and/or biking to its location, as the brew house is set in a commercial, high density living populated area, and is surrounded by many parks and trails. We are a neighbourhood brewery; our mission is to produce outstanding craft beer and delicious BBQ while forging connections in our community. Our brews can be found in local liquor stores as well as on tap in bars and restaurants in the Tri-Cities. Patina Brewing Co. is very thankful to the team at The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce for the incredible effort and support they have offered throughout the pandemic. From sending up-to-date information, hosting webinars, a social media push to ‘buy local’ to meeting with political leaders to allow local businesses to connect with political decision makers. Patina Brewing Co. shares the same values as that of the Tri Cities Chamber of Commerce; to promote and inspire local businesses to achieve more. We are also focused on giving new businesses and community members an opportunity to grow, and were excited to commission a local amateur artist to create an inaugural mural inside the establishment. The mural is a depiction of Port Coquitlam and has many aspects of our community embedded throughout. From the beginning, our emphasis has been making the community a better place for everyone, through hiring local, purchasing local, and giving back. In the early days of the pandemic, we hosted a
fundraiser to ‘Put Food on the Table’ for the Share Foodbank. Local Tri-City ‘celebrities’ contributed by being the food and beer deliverers. Patina is also committed to being a living wage employer, something that has never been done in the restaurant and brewery industry. It speaks to the core value of Patina; to support the community through philanthropic work, buying local and treating employees fairly. utter Studios started as a Port Moody home-based business in 2004 and moved into their studio in Port Moody on Brewers’ row in 2011. We are a full-service photography and videography studio, and we have worked with a variety of amazing brands over the years, from local businesses to international luxury brands. We do portraits, headshots, photography and videography for events, weddings, and commercial, as well photobooth services which are well known across Metro Vancouver.
with clients and other service providers locally. Our goal is to show that small businesses can do big things! The Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce has huge positive influence on that. What started as an attempt to network almost a decade ago, has become a favourite part of our job. The chamber staff have always been friendly, helpful, and engaging with the community. The members that we have met over the years have become friends, clients, and industry colleagues in many instances.
This year alone, Butter Studios has had the pleasure of working with great not-for-profit organizations such as SHARE Services, the TriCities Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Local, and the Tri-Cities Foundations. We also created our own initiatives — including a fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation and translating a modest Facebook grant we received into a project to create business/brand highlight videos for 12 businesses that were struggling due to COVID-19. We are working on continuing that project in 2021 to help even more businesses!
We find ourselves sponsoring events as less of a marketing attempt, but more to catch up with members, meet new members and learn their stories — it is just fun! I know firsthand that the chamber staff put their members first and initiatives always starts with “how can they support their members.” Compared to other similar organizations I have visited or been a part of, the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce stands in a class of their own and that is at the very top.
The community is very supportive of one another. There are so many great small/ medium business owners in the Tri-Cities and many friendly representatives of large businesses that you can easily connect with. We love working with clients and other service providers locally. We love working
To be recognized as the Chamber Member of this Year is... unreal. At first, I felt there are so many more members deserving of this honour and thought about the past recipients and all that they do for the Tri-Cities community and beyond. How could I even compare? But then I decided to look at the steps my team and I have taken in doing more for others over the past few years. We took the challenges of
