- W&M will match up with Towson for the second time this season in conference play on Friday night at Kaplan Arena. In the last matchup between the Tribe and the Tigers, the CAA leading champs won 91-55 at SECU Arena. Sydney Wagner (12) and Riley Casey (11) scored in double figures for the Tribe while Kate Sramac had seven points to go with seven rebounds. Freshman Ava Stevenson shot 50% from the field and three adding eight points, and Bre Bellamy scored eight points to go with four rebounds. As a team, the Tribe shot 47% from three. - In the Green and Gold's most recent match-up graduate students Casey (24) and Wagner (20) combined for 44 points to lead the way for the Tribe with each making big plays down the stretch to extend the game. Freshmen Dani McTeer and graduate student Kate Sramac led the team in rebounds with six apiece. - Sydney Wagner remains the most prolific scorer on the Tribe. Sunday afternoon Wagner scored double figures for the sixth consecutive time, with 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal. The Phoenixville, Pa., native is averaging 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and shooting 87.5% from the charity stripe. Amongst the league leaders, Wagner ranks fourth in 3-point FG made (2.6%), seventh in assist (3.0 %), and 13th in scoring at (13.7). - Riley Casey has shown to be a force for the Tribe this season. In the Tribe's matchup against Drexel Casey led the team with 24 points, two rebounds, and a steal. The Brentwood, Tenn. native has led the Tribe in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game, while she is also among the league leaders in 3-point % (39.0). - Bre Bellamy has been one of Swanson's most consistent and go-to players this season. Sunday afternoon Bellamy scored 8 points and three rebounds. Bellamy leads the Green and Gold in blocks per game and is second in rebounds averaging 5.5 per game. - Freshman post player Dani McTeer has started in 16 games this season and has been one of Swanson's most consistent players. McTeer is averaging 6.8 points per game and scored in double digits three times this season. McTeer is shooting 41% from the field and 69% from the free-throw line. - The Tribe has been one of the most ferocious three-point defenses in Division I this season, ranking 50 in the nation, holding opponents to 28% from the line. William & Mary ranks third in the CAA in three-pointers per game (6.4) and second in team three-point field goal percentage 32%. On seven separate occasions this season, the Tribe has held the opposition to below 20% from the three-point line. - The Tribe has been impressive from the free-throw line this season, ranking third in the CAA. On seven separate occasions this year, the Tribe has knocked down at least 10 free throws and the team has shot over 72% five times. Individually, Sydney Wagner, Kate Sramac, Riley Casey, Ava Stevenson, and Ruthie Montella, all are shooting over 75% on the year. - The Tribe has held three opponents to 50 points or less so far this season, winning each of those three games. Under head coach Ed Swanson, the Tribe has held opponents to under 50 points in 29 games and are 28-1 in those contests. W&M head coach Ed Swanson enjoyed a noteworthy 2019-20 season individually. He was named the CAA Co-Coach of the Year following the Tribe's historic season. Swanson won his 500th career game on Nov. 26, became just the third coach in W&M history to win 100 games with the Tribe on Jan. 12, and was inducted into the Northeast Conference Hall of Fame in January.
