Evangelist Sharon Renea Blackmon is the CEO and founder of Sharon Renea Ministries, L.L.C. located in Greensboro, North Carolina. I share my journey of conceiving for the first time after trying for many years to conceive a child. We often ask God for specific blessings and we hold on to the faith until that blessing manifest itself. I didn’t give up, but I placed a lot of pressure on myself by trying everything possible to “help God out”. Silly me. God doesn’t need my little help. He was in control from the very beginning. The feelings and emotions that you feel in the midst of a blessing and then the pain of that blessing literally being snatched away from you is unbelievable. I always wanted to know the feeling of a baby growing inside of me and the dreams and hopes of becoming the best mother that my child could ever have. It was getting really awkward to be asked when was I going to have children and the old famous saying, you are not getting any younger. My response was always, “In Gods timing.” There are some funny stories in this book as well. The things the body goes through and the emotions that comes wave after wave is so interesting! I shared a lot of difficult moments as well. This was an amazing journey to me and I wanted to share it with other women. Why? Because it shows hope, courage and faith in the midst of a major crisis. I mean, you step into the doctors’ office and the pregnancy is confirmed to laying in a hospital bed being told your baby will not make it. Your hope and your dreams are shattered. But I, in the midst of all what was happening with Baby Joshua and I, I still mustered up the strength to keep talking to God. With tears rolling down my face, I knew that I had to keep faith to the very end. It was hard, difficult and I felt alone in this battle. I knew my only way of keeping my sanity, was in making sure that every day, three and four times a day, I had to talk to God. I wrote this book so that those who have walked this journey and some will walk this journey, don’t allow it to take you into a downward spiral. But there is hope and restoration after this! God will carry you through. If he did it once, He can do it again. And for those who can no longer conceive, there are many children that needs your love and attention. Allow yourself to give that love to another child. You are a woman that is born to nurture and give life. Even if that means to give it to someone else. Your love and compassion for your own can be expressed through the outpouring of love that you can give others. Nothing waisted. God has a plan. Trust it. Trust Him. I have overcome the fear of being and thinking that I am a barren woman because I cannot have children. I am not barren. I may not be able to produce children, but I produce life through my music, my ministry and my writing. I have come to realize that you cannot allow people to put you in a box. I had to think and live outside the stigma of society. I had to create my atmosphere. I had to believe God created me to produce fruit in other areas in my life that will be yielded to those who needs it around me.
I have a huge list for 2019. Just to name a few things, I will be marrying my best friend! The love of my life! I am so excited about that new chapter in my life. We are also in business together and we are looking to do some phenomenal things in our communities. I am also working on another book that will really be controversial. I am really looking forward to this particular project. It is fire and it will be interesting to see how it will be received. I am planning more women sessions to deal with the pressures of life and to help with other resources. There are so many that are broken in spirit and need someone to give hope and to provide help. So, there will be a lot of me to see and follow in 2019. Love not Hate In our society today, there is lots of Hate! And it is destroying our world. As Christians we need to learn to love. We need to speak up and take back our power. Our words can change the world. When we start to recognize the things, we have in common and not focus on all the differences. When we realize we all love, hurt and feel? We are all important. We all are mothers, daughters, nieces, cousins, wives or dads, sons, and nephews. We are all loved and we all love someone. Our families love and need us. And when we look inside at the heart and soul and not outside at the external package. When we look with our hearts and not our eyes, the world will change. We have to stop the violence and the hatred. We must learn tolerance, acceptance and love. Our children and grandchildren are depending on us. We are destroying their future. As we spew hate and intolerance; they are watching. They are mimicking us and learning. They are like sponges and absorb all around them. We owe it to them to make sure we are leaving this world better than when we came into it. We need to make sure that we are leading by example. We must show them how to love and accept others. Every movement and every change start with one person. One person who decides to make a difference. One person who says not on my watch. One person who decides to stand up and not be silent! Forgiveness to Freedom Teresa Hawley-Howard We have all been hurt at one time in our lives. We have been betrayed, lied to, cheated on, mistreated, or abused. Sometimes it is by someone we love, by someone we trust, or by someone who is supposed love us too. The most natural reaction is to hold a grudge or maybe to retaliate. We may want to hold onto a seed of hate, mistrust or anger in our hearts. We think we are making the other person pay for the pain that they caused us. That’s the worlds answer to the pain. The world says to close your heart and protect yourself. To make that person sorry and pay for what they have done to you. Never let them forget what they did and how it hurt you. Make them regret what they did to you. That’s not God’s way. It is not what is best for you. It is not what is best for your life. We feel that it makes us appear weak if we forgive. We feel we are letting them get away with what they did to us. But forgiveness is not for the other person; it is for you. Forgiveness sets you free. It allows you to move on and heal from the pain. Forgiveness does not mean that you forget what you went through. It does not mean that what they did was right. It means that you have risen above it and chose to move on with your life. God tells us to forgive; so that we can be forgiven. I know personally I need God’s grace and forgiveness every day. I know daily I sin and repent and need to be forgiven. If God is willing to forgive me; I have to be willing to forgive those who trespass against me. Being able to forgive gives you courage to live your best life. You cannot reach great heights and live the life God has planned for you with unforgiveness rooted in your heart. You have to be free from it. Forgiveness opens your heart and soul to receive your blessings. When we forgive, we take back our power! We become free to follow our hearts, to chase our dreams, and receive great things that God has in store for us. So, don’t cancel out your blessings b harboring seeds of unforgiveness in your heart. Be Careful How You Speak to yourself! You will speak the most to yourself! I know you are shocked by that statement. You are saying no I don’t! but yes you do! It may not be out loud but in your head, you are speaking volumes to yourself! Every thought and word you are speaking life and death to yourself! It sets the tone for your day, your week, your business, your family and your life. So, you need to pay more attention to those thoughts and prayers! Ask yourself do I build myself up? Am I my own cheerleader? Do I believe in me? In my dreams? In my abilities? Do I say I can do it? Or do I tear myself down? Am I always doubting myself? Am I always reliving my mistakes? Do I continuously tell myself I cannot do it? Take time to think about this. It is really important! If you are not uplifting yourself, it’s time to start! It’s time to stop all of that negative speak! It’s time to start building yourself up! You need to realize your words have power! They can elevate your life or they can take you to the depths of misery. It’s totally your choice! What you say to yourself is more important than what others say about you! You must learn to love you and your flaws and mistakes. You must learn to speak to yourself with grace and love and not with disdain.
