Cover Spotlight Shon Allen Tell us more about yourself. My name is Shonnon "Shon" Allen. I currently reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I have 1 child, Tre. I'm an entrepreneur, child disability advocate and an International best-selling Author!
Why CBD? The summer of 2017 changed my life. I was invited to attend meeting about legalizing Cannabis in Oklahoma and I sat next to an elderly gentleman who didn't "look" like he was for Cannabis. I introduced myself and he started sharing with me about how he and his family had to drive back and forth to Colorado for CBD to give to his 9-year-old granddaughter who suffered with severe seizures. He said what the doctors prescribed wasn’t working, only making her seizures worse. The gentleman said CBD lessened the seizures to the point that some days his granddaughter didn't have any outbreaks. He was there to fight for all people that need the Cannabis plant for medicinal purposes. That weekend, I heard countless stories about how people were eager to get off prescribed pain medications and switch to the CBD, the part of the Cannabis flower that doesn't contain THC. I knew immediately that I wanted to help make it legal in Oklahoma and I wanted to have a part in the distribution as well. What are your achievements and goals? I have over 20 distributors around the world and my goal is to educate 1000 families this year on how CBD works without bodies and not against it.

CBD Oil Shon Allen There's no question that CBD is the buzz right now. If you live in a state, like me where it's currently legal, you might feel like CBD has gone from being sort of around to absolutely everywhere all at once. Coffee shops sell CBD lattes, spas offer CBD facials, tattoo shops, beauty, and barbershops are now offering creams with CBD or hemp oils in their formulas. And everyone from your anxious coworker to your arthritis-suffering parents and grandparents wants to get their hands on some CBD. But even though it's infiltrating every corner in your city so many people find CBD a little confusing—especially when it comes to figuring out the right way to use it and how to make sure the stuff you're buying is, you know, actually legit. CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the Cannabis sativa flower which is also known as marijuana or hemp. It's a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin, delta-9tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the major active ingredient in marijuana, CBD is not psychoactive. The question I get all of the time is..."Will CBD get me high?" Nope. The cannabis plant is made up of two main players: CBD and THC. "CBD is the non-psychoactive portion of the plant, so what that means is you won't have any effects like euphoria and you won't feel sedated or altered in any way. The plant Cannabis sativa has two primary species, hemp and marijuana. Both contain CBD, but there's a much higher percentage in hemp, which also has very low (less than 0.3%) levels of THC compared to marijuana. I've noticed one exception. Some people, for unknown reasons, just react differently to CBD. There's about 5% of people say they feel altered after taking CBD, but usually, they're the same people who have side effects from Advil or Tylenol. You never know how your body will react to any new supplement, so when taking CBD for the first time, do so safely under supervision, follow directions, and definitely seek advice from your physician.
It is very important to buy third-party-tested CBD for quality assurance (more on this later). Because the FDA doesn't regulate CBD, it is possible to buy a product that is more or less potent than advertised or even contains small amounts of THC. There are thousands if not millions of positive testimonies about CBD. Many people swear CBD has helped with countless other health conditions including anxiety, PTDS, joint pain, back pain, osteoarthritis, even cancer. The biggest misconception about CBD is that it's a wonder drug. A lot of times people think CBD is a cure-all, and it's not. You should also have a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercises and good nutrition—CBD is not going to fix everything but will get you on the path of pain management. What is the best way to take CBD? It really depends on what your goal is and why you're taking CBD in the first place. Some people don't want to ingest anything and therefore prefer a topical CBD cream where it is applied to muscles, joints and ligaments and still get a nice localized release. The biggest differences between tinctures, edibles, and vape pens are the speed of delivery and how long the effects last. Vape relief is faster but wears off faster too— usually in about two hours. Let's say you wake up in the morning and pulled your back out, you might want to take CBD through a vape pen, which delivers in 10 minutes. Tinctures and edibles take longer to work but last four or five hours. A tincture looks like a little liquid that you put under your tongue, and you feel relief within half an hour. If you prefer to taste something, you choose an edible, whether it's a capsule or gummy. What should I look for when shopping for CBD products? There are literally hundreds of CBD brands at this point. Here are a few things you should keep in mind when shopping. What does the label look like? I don't mean the color or font. If it's a dietary supplement, it should have a back panel with an FDA disclaimer and warning section, Ideally, it would be preferable to have access to their third-party lab testing results too.
I'm sure that nearly every Health expert will agree that your CBD products should be tested by a third party to confirm the label's accuracy. Look for a quality assurance stamp or certificate of analysis from a third party (aka not the actual brand) or check the retailer's website if you don't see it on the product's label. Can I give it to my pets? Tempted to give your four-legged family member one of those CBD pet chews? Go ahead! You can feel good about giving it to your beloved animals. CBD is a natural way to help your furry friends enjoy the same lifestyle benefits from CBD that you experience! Yes, your four-legged friend also has an endocannabinoid system that’s capable of interfacing with CBD — and with formulations based on pet size, you can ensure they get the best possible effect. When considering CBD products for pets, it's the same as with people: do your research to find out what is best for your pet. In closing, most people find CBD to be a natural alternative to pain management and since our bodies have an Endocannabinoid system that reacts in a positive way to the CBD receptors, you may find that CBD will add value to your life! Spotlight Nasreen Variyawa TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF. I am Nasreen, meaning Wild Rose, born, and raised in Durban, South Africa. After spending ten years as a corporate trainer and author of training material for corporate companies, I became inspired by the idea of wander-lusting. Turkey took my fancy and I soon traded suits and stilettos for lab coats and trainers and entered the world of ESL teaching. Here for 6 years, I have travelled, worked, and explored life as it should be lived- with childhood zest, passion, and color. Since marrying last June, I gave up ESL teaching to focus on my business. When I am not writing or coaching, I am pottering about the house, exercising, reading, surfing social media, shopping, and enjoying chai (tea) and a simit (bagel) at the local coffee shops. I love going on retreats and often attend webinars because I love learning. My favorite thing to shop for is stationery. I am always looking for creative books to write in. In Turkey, I am spoilt for choice and I love that because my workspace and bookshelf always look full and colorful. Children’s play parks are my favorite hangout. When I’m not swinging high, enjoying the same rush it gave me as a child, I am cruising at ground level using the time to reflect and sometimes generate fresh ideas. I have always loved to express myself through writing, but it took a leadership coach to point out that I could convert my talent to profit before I published my first book. I count this as a blessing because through it I learn, grow, and evolve every day.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. ‘Nasreeniology’ is derived from my name and was coined to denote that I have a unique way of expression. Now my business identity, it is the platform through which I work as an author coach, ghostwriter, and editor. I help aspiring authors to find clarity about the books they want to write. Together, we structure it, write it and publish it in as short a time as possible. I have written a number of books for other authors, some of whom are reputable businesspeople in their respective communities. I have also worked on a number of best-selling books as editor. I have published two books of my own and am about to release the third one that is aimed at helping aspiring authors to adopt a mindset and lifestyle that is conducive for authoring. Beyond that, I have also recently turned motivational speaker which is an exciting prospect. Aspiring authors often ask me what they should write about. I tell them that we are all born with a best-selling plot within. What I mean to say is that everyone has a story to tell. If we don’t want to tell our own stories, then there are stories happening around us every day. The possibilities for engaging stories are everywhere. WHAT INSPIRES YOU? I used to look to others for inspiration but after careful reflection and experimentation, especially during the lockdown period, I have decided to be inspired most by myself. Now that may sound a little pompous, but I have two reasons for this. The first is that it is easy to forget our accomplishments and become insecure from time to time. The second is that we ought to be our own biggest supporters, cheering ourselves on when we reach milestones and leading ourselves first before we lead others. Therefore, every day for the last 90 days in lockdown, I have opened up each of my books alternately daily, read a portion and then shared it with the world in the form of daily posts on social media. The thought that my words will live long after I am gone inspires me to continue. The feeling of accomplishment when I have helped others reach their goals, drives, inspires, motivates, and elevates me, all at the same time. I am humbled when I see any book. I have been a force behind, get published or become a best-seller. I am my biggest fan and I tell myself that with the glee of a teenager every day.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR FUTURE? I am blessed to inspire and help others through writing books and that’s a powerful position to be in. But I want to expand that with the power of the spoken word and have plans to speak internationally so that I can double my efforts to help others. Aspire to Inspire: Poems that elevate your speech, was written with motivational speakers in mind. I believe that quotes are overused when we communicate, and I think that poetry is also a great way to express what we want to say. I plan to demonstrate that in my signature talks and make the magic of the book come alive. I also plan to offer simple writing courses in the near future that helps take aspiring authors from conception to publication in simple, doable steps. I have also recently ventured into Journal writing and find it extremely therapeutic and plan to explore and teach it to others as way to cope with stress, anxiety and trauma. It certainly is one way of dealing with good old “writers block.” NAME ONE THING YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR. I want to be remembered as someone who fearlessly explored the truth through my books, articles, blogs and speaking. In an age, where “fake news” appears to cloud realities, I would like to use my creativity to bring issues that matter to the fore so that we are all reminded of how simple it is to live, love and act with mercy. www.nasreeniology.com www.facebook.com/authornasreenv www.linkedin/in/nasreenv nvariyawa@yahoo.com Whatsapp: +905382139618

SPOTLIGHT Mrs. Harriett Deborah Loney AS LIFE WOULD HAVE IT
It takes hunger, discipline, and grit! I had it from a child and I knew I would be great. But great at what? My life began in Panama Central American, born to two wonderful parents‌ but that didn’t last long. At the age of 4, my parents were divorced, and my mom, Veronica Bland, and I moved in with my Abuela or grandmother in English. I grew up in a Christian home where God and love were the priority. Abuela, my grandmother, took care of me while my mom worked late hours to make ends meet and before we knew it I was in NY with my mom. Four years later we moved to Oakland California and that became home. These two women were the strength in my life and to this day they are why I became who I am.
I was always a leader. In my school days, I was president of many activities, telling people what to do and even joined Jr. ROTC, and on my quest to find fulfillment, I joined the US Air Force, retired, and continue with Federal service for a total of over 35 years.
SEARCHING FOR GREATNESS
In pursuit of my dreams, I went from being a dancer to a licensed Nail Technician with hopes to own a
storefront and teach others how to do the same. Instead, I had multiple nails shops in my house in Italy and Germany as my family and I traveled the globe in the military. My unique skill-set comes as a result of an unstable childhood, a missing father, but I remembered the love my mother and grandmother taught me spilled over and taught me to love people, God’s people and I wanted to understand humans - how we think and why we do what we do, so I began to study Psychology and Sociology. People were always my passion and so I listened, I coached, and I ministered to them to help make a difference in the world. This led to my calling as an Evangelist. After achieving a certain amount of success in my nail business, at the age of 27 I accepted my call to be an Evangelist and I was one of the 12 founders of a church in Italy. I led, coached and mentored countless women’s organizations, youth groups, and military leaders. I continued to learn and grown and began to seek mentors, both life & business coaches to get on the right track. My two beautiful daughters were born in Italy and I decided to impact their lives and the lives of others, one person at a time, like the starfish story, with the birth of my own coaching, speaking, and training consultancy, iSpark Transformation, LLC. Once I noticed it was ingrained in me, it just flows out from me and it’s easy to dedicate my life to equipping and empowering people, especially young girls in transition from now to the next part of their life igniting their purpose from within.
My gift is to teach young ladies how to survive, how to become leaders, develop wealth, invest in themselves and most importantly how to ascribe to positive self-talk and believe in themselves. Once we get that together, we can do anything!!! What keeps me going strong? My faith in God. In this world, it’s all about renewing your mind over matter and shifting the perspective. We can and we will go BEyond ourselves to BEcome what and who we are called to BEcome… leaving a legacy for generations to come.
