Dana Blake One Girl’s Journey

Featured By Microsoft! One more dream achieved! We all have those moments in our lives, in our business or in our careers! Those moments that we are celebrated! The moment we have achieved and reached a goal! In July, I had one of those amazing moments. My book, From Fear to Freedom, was featured by Microsoft! It was an amazing experience! To speak on the Microsoft platform and have my book promoted by them! Each of the authors there were amazing! As each took the stage and shared their journey and book, we were inspired and encouraged. I, personally have been on the journey to help writers to achieve their dreams of becoming a bestselling author! I love this journey! And speaking at Microsoft was a personal goal of mine! To be able to take WOM Enterprises to new platforms and levels! We each have the ability to make it happen! But sometimes we need those connections to achieve it! I am thankful for my supporters at AIB (Authors in Business) and for all they offer authors! This was a great opportunity and I was blessed to be able to share it with some powerful women!

www.TributeMagazine.net

Cheryl Polote Willams was also honored and spotlighted on that same day! So, it was a double blessing to share the stage with a Woman who personally spoke into my business and life! I was also blessed to meet Regina Crayton! And to hear her speak and get her beautiful children’s book! We also heard from Shonte Taylor and Tongela Curry who were both featured authors! It was an amazing day! Learning and networking and supporting other authors!

IT’S OK TO REST As women, we have a lot going on. It can be lonely and exhausting trying to get everything done in a given day. Think about it, when was the last time you had a chance to breathe and really relax? It is so important to let yourself breath. Humans were created to rest and recharge. It isn’t a bad thing to rest. A lot of countries in Europe and South America take a daily siesta, or rest. Businesses close down for a few hours and everyone goes home to rest and recharge for the evening. Now, you may be asking, ‘how can I make time for myself to relax when my To Do list never gets any shorter, seriously, I could work on it all day long and yet, it is never smaller’? There are a few key things that you can do today to be able to breathe.

1. Give yourself permission to not feel guilty about not getting everything done. I have a cleaning schedule and today was bathroom day. Due to life happening, my bathrooms did not get cleaned. I honestly do not feel guilty over the fact that I did not clean my bathrooms because I know I will clean them sometime later this week. Instead, I chose to rest and spend a few extra minutes with my children. 2. Give yourself permission to rest. This is hard because you will feel a bit guilty when you rest. After the first few times of doing this, the little voice in your head that yells at you to keep going and doing, will stop talking so loud. You will feel good getting rest. Your body was made to rest sometimes. That does not mean become lazy, but to give yourself the honest chance to breathe. Take a nap, or go to sleep thirty minutes earlier. Or take a relaxing bubble bath! 3. It is ok to say “no” to someone asks you to do one more thing. Just say no. If you are too busy to breathe, you are too busy to do the one more thing well. Maybe in the future you can do it, but no, not in this season. 4. Stop comparing yourself to Jane Doe down the street. Seriously, she is probably looking at you and wondering how you do it all. It does not help you to try to be Pinterest perfect or Instagram worthy all the time. It stresses you out more and causes more comparison that isn’t necessary for a happy and rest filled day.

5. Spend time with your best friend. Chances are they need to take a breather as well. Seriously, call them up and set up a day and time that you can just spend chatting. It will help the loneliness of trying to wear all the hats. You can laugh and talk about all the things! It is so freeing to just laugh with your best friend! Honestly, the to do list can wait for an hour for you to breath. You will feel better, recharged and able to work longer and harder on the list if you stop and breath rather than if you just keep going exhausted and overwhelmed. This list may feel overwhelming; if so take it one step at a time. Start with one and move to the others as you grow in confidence. Making space for you to breathe is what this list is about, not giving you another set of “To Do’s. This is a chance to breath. This is a chance to rest and relax and recharge so you can handle things better later.

Crystal Awsum I grew up in Kaufman, TX. My husband and I live in Ennis, TX. We have been married five years. We have two beautiful children, one girl and one boy. As a homemaker and homeschooling mom, I have a passion for seeing women live to their full potential and not let fear or comparison hold them back. Another passion is to help women see that God has created them with a unique purpose that does not include being overwhelmed, but to trust in Him in the day to day, minute to minute of their lives. 19

Reinvent Your Future I have found that I have been asking myself the same question a lot lately. What does reinvent your future mean? I am sure that it means different things for different people. We all have our own visions for what our futures hold. For me, reinvent my future means several different things. I know that ultimately God is in control of my future, but I know that I have and will make decisions that will reroute my course along the way. I know that what I want for my future may change a little with every season of life, but what does that mean for me right now? I am a type A personality, which means I am very much a rule follower, so when I had the opportunity to leave my regular 9-5 job to stay home with my kids and be able to earn an income while being at home, I was a little skeptical. I was use to getting up early and sitting in traffic, for what seemed like forever, so I could go to an office all day to work for someone else. I think we all know what that’s like. Now, don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy my job and I liked my co workers, some of them I became good friends with. I felt blessed that I had a job to go to everyday because I know some people don’t. My boss was great, there were good benefits, and awesome perks, and I got a paycheck that allowed me to pay my bills. Being at work all day took me away from my kids. I had to rely on other people to take care of them while I was earning a living. I am very blessed to have had help from family members and my kids are so lucky to have had that time with their grandmother and aunt, but I felt like I was missing out. I know most moms are in that same situation. We need to work to provide for our families but on the flip side our jobs are taking us away from our families. For me it caused a lot of mom guilt and I simply thought it was unfair. I wanted to be the best mom I could be and I wanted to contribute financially for our family, but I felt like I couldn’t do both and that I had to choose. Again, not fair. Why couldn’t I do both? The answer to that question is, I can! I can change the course I’m on and redirect it to a new one. I can be my own boss. I can set my own schedule. I can determine how hard I want to work. I can decide how many hours during the day I am going to dedicate my time and focus on my work. I can decide how much my paycheck will be. I can do all of this from home and still be there for my family.

www.TributeMagazine.net

24

This is how I reinvented my future. I realized that my course needed to be rerouted and I made the decision to make some changes. Was it scary? Was it out of my comfort zone? Was it completely different from my norm? Yes, yes, and yes. That’s the great thing about reinventing your future. It’s your future to reinvent, to revamp, and to redirect. You can make that choice. It will mean making changes and possibly taking some risks but you will never know how amazing it will be if you’re not willing to see what’s on the other side of your everyday norm. For me, the rule follower, still has days where I am trying to adjust to my new schedule because my new schedule is a lot more relaxed than what I’m use to, but it has been one of the best decisions I have made. If you had the chance to reinvent your future and work from home, would you? What would that mean for you and your family? Do something today that your future self will be thankful for!

Have a great day and an even brighter future.

Christy Williams www.toblessedtobestressed.com

Hi, my name is Christy Williams and I am a child of God, a mom of two beautiful girls, and a wife to a sweet and funny guy. I have been married for 14 years!! I became a customer of a large wellness company about 8 months ago that specializes in daily household items and products that are free of toxins. As a mom using safer products in my home and around my kids is very important to me. I knew that there were safer alternatives, but more organic products usually means more expensive prices. I was excited to find out that not only are these safer products more effective but they are easy on the budget. I left my 9-5 job 6 months ago to be home with my kids. I have recently partnered with that same company that I shop with and I am now a business partner. So not only do I get to shop monthly for our families necessities but I also get to earn an income as well. I get to share this awesome opportunity with others so they, too, can create a healthier home and possibly an extra income. It has been a blessing to my family. I get to work at home and not miss out on important milestones with my kids. I get the best of both worlds 25

Janis Melillo Spotlight I am a wellness/transformation health coach and I love assisting women on their path of wellness through fitness and nutrition! I became interested in fitness in my mid-40’s when faced with a few different non-life threatening medical issues. I really found a great respect for my own wellness so much so that I became a massage therapist and then a certified personal trainer. I am no longer able to practice in those professions due to a couple of injuries I sustained but overall this did not stop me. I continued on my quest and became a health coach and received my training through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I recently decided to further and gain more knowledge and skills and I am currently studying with another nutrition course, The Nutritious Life with Keri Glassman. I am also in the process of studying to become a Christian Life Coach. I am an ordained minister so adding this to my ministry is another natural progression for me.

I love that I am able to serve others in different capacities!

When asked, what Inspires her Janis responded: What inspires me - this is a loaded question! I had to sit for a moment and think about this as so many things flooded to my mind all at once. What inspires me each day #1 is that the good Lord has blessed me with another day to serve and love others! What continues to inspire me are the amazing people whom I have met that despite their misgivings and obstacles continue to persevere and move forward in their own lives. They continue to inspire and encourage to assist others despite the tragedies and turmoil that they have been through. By doing so, they continue to create a ripple effect and what better way to support and encourage others!

Janis Melillo’s Accomplishments and Projects I have been blessed to co-author (6) projects so far with two outstanding, amazing International Best Selling Authors - (5) with Teresa HawleyHoward - (4) of which have hit the International Best Sellers List and (1) that hit #1 as the hottest new release on Amazon. My other co-authored book is with another amazing author, Vickie Gould - this co-authored book comes out on August 8th. All of these co-authored books are also coauthored by many incredible people whom I am blessed to have collaborated with all of them! I have a few more co-authored projects that I am working on with Teresa. I am also working on my own book, Mirror of the Heart. In addition, I have been selected as a Courage Collective Leader! This is through the amazing Chantelle Adams! She has created a movement starting where women are rising up to share their story and create a ripple effect of change in the world. I am truly honored to have been selected as a leader!

29

When asked what advice, she would give others, Janis responded: The #1 advice I would give to any woman entrepreneur is to take care of your wellness! I can’t stress enough how important this is! Wellness is not about going to the gym every day and striving to be on a diet. Wellness is about nurturing your body with not only good nourishment, it includes movement (exercise), spiritual environment, creative environment, the world around us. In other words, taking care of what you need to be successful in what you do in your personal and business life. Far too often I’ve heard I don’t have enough time - I know I’ve probably said it too! Here is the bottom line, if you don’t have time to take care of your wellness sooner or later you will have to find time for illness. That is the true reality of not taking care of yourself! Many women also believe you have to go on a diet. No, you do not need to go on a diet. You may need to make changes and fine-tune your diet, however in order to achieve optimal wellness you need to invest in your overall health. Think of your wellness journey as the ultimate investment project. When we start to reframe and build on our foundation, we are more apt to endure the long and sometimes stressful situations on being an entrepreneur.

What are your Goals for the last half of 2017? I want to accomplish writing the first draft of my book (currently in the works). I also want to start my own podcast! Do I dare add something else to my project list?

What obstacles have you overcome? Obstacles - there have been a few! An obstacle that immediately comes to mind is telling my story, getting it out there! It is my hope and desire that someone that reads my story will know that there is hope and inspiration and that it will direct them to persevere and step up and move forward to take action in their own lives. Conquering the fear of telling my story has been emotionally challenging but in doing so if my story encourages and resonates with one person, then the fear of my doing so has been well worth it! In a lot of ways, fear has led me to some amazing opportunities. Fear may creep up every now and then but it will never dominate my life again! That is the beauty of telling my story!

Embrace You Future Your intentions follow you. The stuff you're intending today is not going to show up today. It's going to show up in days, weeks, months and sometimes years on down the road. Being successful in the Entrepreneurial world and making the Law of Attraction work for you is a lifestyle, not a 1-2-3 formula for instant manifestation. Every day is a new act creation, and your manifestations will show up in multiple ways. When your desires show up, your manifestation arrival will seem natural, normal and expected. Probably not that all exciting; this is normal because you have matured to the point that you can manifest the dreams the dreams you longed for. It’s your new normal. Rome wasn’t built in a day, a famous saying. Take time to see each new level as a new path opened for you to move forward with grace and appreciation. When we are grateful for the small things in life; that is when the bigger manifestations arrive. Understand this and you're halfway there. Relax and enjoy your accomplishments as well as the journey. Have fun with it and embrace your adventure! Sharon Gulley Beautiful Expectations of Faith
