We are problem-solvers, communicators, vendor managers, and so much more. We are purchasing agents, salespeople, negotiators, inventory managers, planners, and accounts receivable. It is also essential to have a decent knowledge of the industry itself along with being able to quote, source, sample, handle artwork, color matches and the list goes on. There isn’t one area that I do not touch on in my current AC role.

Sometimes this means emailing more than three vendors and figuring out all the logistics to give the customer a final price.

During Covid, lead times were extremely long and there were material shortages.
I started sourcing items that I knew might be an issue.
I was able to supply my customer all items without any shortages or delays.
