umbrella PROJECTS Keeping in Touch Project Thompson Park Activity Center offers many things to many people: education, resources, humanities courses, creative outlets and a place to socialize. An underlying value within these opportunities is the relationships and connections participants make with each other. Barbra Streisand sang it best: ”People, people who need people, are the luckiest people in the world.” People connect because of shared interests and values. We know that our lives are enriched because of our friends, including the friends we’ve met at Thompson Park. Often, when we don’t see a familiar face for awhile, we wonder why. Maybe you are one of the people we’ve been missing. To help keep our connections with each other, we are working on a way to keep in touch. If you are wondering how a missing friend is or if you know someone who would appreciate hearing from us, please stop by the front desk at TPAC and complete a request to have a card sent to them. We will make sure it is mailed. If you haven't been able to attend a class or event at TPAC for any reason, please give us a call and let us know how you are. Keeping In Touch is sponsored by Umbrella Projects.

Day Trippers Dinner Theatre Bloomington - Drinking Habits Join us for our zany, laugh out loud new farce Drinking Habits. Two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing Convent have been secretly making wine to keep their convent open, but when two snooping reporters show up everything goes wrong. You may see horse-drawn buggies, one-room schools, Amish only grocery stores, horse teams in the fields and greenhouses. The Amish came to Augusta in 1978 and have grown to over 150 families. They have changed very little in their beliefs and way of life in over 250 years, living like our great-great grandparents did. At the end of driveways, they sell items such as baked goods, seed plants, eggs, maple syrup, and more. No pictures can be taken. Before returning to the Wood Shed, we will stop at Weavers Country Mennonite Store in Fall Creek, WI. It is a unique place that is operated by the Mennonites. The store offers bulk foods, cooking supplies and spices with lots of things to buy. All sales are cash only. Tuesday, May 22 $72 includes transportation/lunch/tour Depart TPAC at 8:15 am/Return 6 pm Register by Tuesday, Apr. 24, 2018.
