MISSION STATEMENT

Trinity School cultivates academic excellence in an environment where each child is known, valued and has their unique voice. The legacy of a Trinity education is a curious mind and a discerning heart.

A Message from the Head of School

Dear Trinity Community,

When the time is quiet on our campuses, and there’s time for reflection, it becomes abundantly clear: schools are a place of profound impact.

I believe this impact, through education, begins with the individual, disperses among the classrooms, and ultimately filters out to the neighborhood and far beyond. Teaching and learning, what we do at Trinity, leads to societal change through leadership, and that is the true legacy of Trinity School. Our students are the next leaders in society, and we need to do everything possible for them to lead in an informed, compassionate, empathetic, and deliberative manner.

Your generosity enables the faculty, staff, students, and leadership to plan ambitiously for our students and execute strategically. In 2021–2022, the generosity of our community brought in $635,270.92 through the Annual Fund and Faculty Venture Grants, and our overall fundraising total was $1,032,270. This generosity is not supplemental; it’s essential, as giving at Trinity accounts for 15% of our operating budget. Furthermore, your contributions fuel our resolve and confidence to dream big, plan diligently, and help students realize their individual and collective potential in making our world a better place.

Thank you for all your contributions to Trinity School in 2021–2022.

See you around campus!

A Message from the Chair of the Board of Trustees

Thank you, Trinity School Community, for everything we collectively accomplished during the 2021–22 school year.

Although Covid protocols were still with us, the year, hopefully, felt more delightfully normal to all of us. Matt, Faculty and Staff, and Board drafted the new Strategic Plan in June. This will become available in September, and we hope you will be as pleased with the result as we are. In addition, work in support of the California Association of Independent Schools accreditation process has begun and will be completed in early 2023.

Once again, we exceeded our fundraising goal, raising over $1 million thanks to the generosity of parents, grandparents, alums, administration, faculty, and others who so generously supported the school. As a result of our strong fundraising and sound fiscal management, Trinity remains financially stable and vibrant. Trinity School could only offer exemplary education and retain our fantastic faculty with this critical fundraising support.

Under the strong leadership of Matt and his team, Trinity continues to innovate and make our programs stronger, always within the spirit of Trinity School’s mission. We are fortunate to have talented and dedicated administrators and teachers working with us. I would also thank the other Trinity Trustees, who volunteer significant time to the school and care deeply about its future. I hope everyone has had a great summer, and I look forward to a successful 2022–2023 school year.

2

This was yet another transitional year, in which many of our beloved TPA programs once again had to be adapted due to COVID protocols. Nevertheless, a strong TPA board and countless amazing volunteers ensured that we were able to offer many successful events, partnering with the wonderful Trinity faculty and staff.

We also made several changes to our offerings, motivated by the desire for simplification and to better reflect our DEI goals. We replaced historically gendered parent mixers with no-cost outdoor parent parties, hosted by parent volunteers. And we devised a new mechanism for collecting funds for teacher gift that both anonymized contributions and removed the need for parents to collect cash from their peers.

It was a wonderful conclusion to the year to be able to hold the Spring benefit in person once again—and it was a tremendous success thanks to Ivonne King, chair, Trinity staff, and numerous parent volunteers.

Trinity School Parent Association 2021/2022

Parent involvement at Trinity School is significant, and we are proud of our parent volunteers’ role in strengthening the ties between parents, teachers, and students. Whether you gave an hour per year or took a leadership position, we welcome and appreciate your involvement.
