MISSION STATEMENT

Trinity School cultivates academic excellence in an environment where each child is known, valued and has their unique voice. The legacy of a Trinity education is a curious mind and a discerning heart.

A Message from the Head of School

In January of 2023, Trinity was evaluated by a team of educators from the California Association of Independent Schools. This 4-day visit and evaluation is part of our accreditation process and includes a list of notable strengths and areas to focus on. From where I sit, there is a direct link between the following two comments and the support and generosity of our community. Specifically:

• A strong sense of community, collaboration, and collegiality is evident, with joyful energy from all resounding throughout both campuses.

• The intentionality and creativity of the teaching faculty as they meet the needs of individual learners in core academics and visionary co-curricular classes, such as design thinking, are to be commended.

There is a direct link between the support and generosity in our community and the joy, collaboration, sense of community, intentionality, creativity, core academics, and co-curricular classes, as made explicit by the evaluation team.

Your generosity provides the intangible currency we feel to be collaborative, creative, and joyful in our planning. Furthermore, your generosity also provides tangible currency, in the form of real dollars, to strengthen our core academics and co-curricular or specialist classes. Examples of these new programs include the Drama Program (added in 2023), enVision Math (2023), Learning Support Program (2022), Teton Science School (2022), having full-time Teaching Assistants in every classroom (2021), the Design Thinking Program (2020), and Creative Curriculum on the Early Childhood Campus (2023).

Said differently, your generosity and support enable the faculty and leadership at Trinity to plan ambitiously and to thoughtfully and intentionally add new programs. The result is an elevation of experience for every single Trinity student.

I’m genuinely grateful for all your support!

A Message from the Chair of the Board of Trustees

Thank you, Trinity School Community, for everything we collectively accomplished during the 2022–23 school year. Because of two special projects, the year was even busier than usual, and staff, faculty, trustees, and community-at-large rose to that challenge.

The California Association of Independent Schools accreditation process required extensive work by staff, faculty, and trustees and was brilliantly executed. Verbal feedback from visiting Accreditation Committee members, who spent a week at the school, could not have been more glowing. The final written evaluation from the accreditation team was delivered in June, and the school received the maximum accreditation term of seven years.

The Board of Trustees led a rigorous, thoughtful, inclusive, and forward-looking search for a Head of School to replace Matt as he retires at the end of the 2023–24 school year. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey and participated in other opportunities to provide feedback. Special appreciation is due to search committee members who spent many hours on the process. We are excited that Kate Benson will join us in July 2024 to begin her tenure.

Matt Allio, Collette McWilliams, Sue Krishna, Rhonda Gamblin and the entire faculty began to deliver the exciting programmatic vision for Trinity School outlined in the 2023–26 Strategic Plan. With support from faculty, staff, trustees, and parishioners from St. Bede’s and Trinity Churches, we made progress on the development of a future vision for the Trinity School physical campuses.

Thanks to the generosity of parents, grandparents, alums, administration, faculty, and others who generously supported the school, we raised $801,696. Trinity School could only offer exemplary education and retain our fantastic faculty with this critical fundraising support.

Year after year, all of you contribute to making Trinity School the special place it is. I hope everyone has had a great summer, and I look forward to a successful 2023-24 school year.

A Message from the Trinity Parent Association President

We have been lucky this year to have COVID mostly behind us. We were able to bring back all of the beloved Trinity events in person. We kicked off the year with the first in-person Back-to-School Barbeque since 2019. For more than half of our community it was the first time experiencing this tradition!

“Finance at Trinity,” a pilot presentation provided by Matt Allio to provide more visibility into the school’s operations, was well received. The “Casino Royale” Gala was a great success. We also held our first in-person “Big Help Day,” a volunteer event for Trinity families in April. We assembled care kits for a variety of organizations including Ronald McDonald House and Operation Care and Comfort, and cooked dinner for 120 people. Dinner was delivered by a couple of Trinity families to one of LifeMove’s interim housing locations.

It was a wonderful year to have inperson events and parent volunteers on campus. Thank you to all the parent volunteers and Trinity staff who make all of our events successful!

Trinity School Parent Association 2022/2023

Parent involvement holds immense value at Trinity School, and we take great pride in our volunteers’ essential role in fostering strong connections between parents, teachers, and students. Whether you dedicate just one hour per year or take on a leadership position, we wholeheartedly welcome and sincerely appreciate your active engagement and support.
