Grab your friends and leave the kids at home! This touching and hilarious one-act play deals with women’s issues of all ages. The performance has been on the road since October 2010 and continues to grow in popularity. Originally produced by the Greenville Hospital System, this play is written in small, comedic acts that explore health and beauty issues faced by women in each stage of life. The performers provide a fun and open environment in which women can feel free to discuss health problems that they might never have talked about before. Nothing is off limits for these ladies! There’s something for everyone here, so bring your mothers, sisters, neighbors and friends for an evening at the library!

Remember the classic tales of The One Thousand and One Nights*? Experience the story with a brand new play starring the great storyteller Scheherazade! Married to a cruel sultan who kills his wives and then remarries every day, Scheherazade must concoct a plan to stay alive. On her wedding night, she begins to tell the sultan a story, but stops before she reaches the end. The sultan becomes entranced and allows her to live one more day so he can hear the ending. The performance features cultural music and sword dancing by local actors, and is sure to be an evening you don’t want to miss! *The One Thousand and One Nights is a collection of Middle Eastern and South Asian stories written between the ninth and thirteenth centuries. Join us for this unique interactive program where children learn to “read” pictures. Our trained instructor will lead group discussions about a different picture book each month.
