American Girl Doll Adventures

Bring your favorite American Girl Doll (or any favorite doll) to camp, where we will unleash your creativity by making matching clothes, jewelry and hairstyles. We will also have our dolls help us perform cool experiments and creative crafts, all while learning about the history of American Girl Dolls. This week will also include baking, a tea party, American Girl Doll books and stories, games and lots of laughter and fun as each girl will bring her imagination to life and we enjoy daily American Girl Doll Adventures. American Girl Food & Fun

Molly, Kit and Samantha go cooking it’s American Girl cuisine! Roll up your sleeves and peek into the past with treats you can make today. Step back in time and make some classics like Toad in a Hole, coffee cake, deviled eggs, applesauce cupcakes, ambrosia, Cincinnati Chili, Apple Brown Betty, cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches. Bring your doll. While food is in the oven or chilling in the ice box, we will have table topics or read about what life was like for these American girls in history. We will end with a tea party on Friday. Maximum enrollment is 12 students.

Animal Adventure Camp

Explore God’s amazing creation of animals. We will spend a week immersed in everything animal! We will begin our week with prehistoric dinosaurs and continue our exploration of animals from Africa, the rainforest, the ocean and animals that make great pets. Each day we explore different animals through educational activities, including stories, games, crafts, guest speakers, up-close animal encounters and more! We will also be making delicious animal-themed snacks! We hope you can join us for a “pawsome” week of critter fun! Maximum enrollment is 12 students.

Center Stage Summer Theater Camp

This will be a week of dramatic fun for rising second-, third- and fourth-graders. Students will have the opportunity to learn stage skills, play improvisational games, help create and perform an exciting original production. Chopped Jr. & Cupcake Wars

Calling all young chefs! Let’s learn and put those cooking skills to the test. Your creativity will shine in the kitchen, and we will see who will be our daily Chopped Champion. These junior-inspired mystery basket ingredients will make you stretch your culinary skills. Although no dishes will go to the Chopping Block, the variety of dishes will impress your friends and family as you learn your way around the kitchen and flavors. From appetizers to entrees to daily Cupcake Wars or Cookie Jar Spars, all skill levels will have a sweet time. Maximum enrollment is 12 students.

Fine Arts for Kids

In this class, we will discover different types of art mediums and processes while learning about the famous artists who inspire us. We will explore drawing, painting, collage and printmaking too! Fourth-Grade Training Camp

Fee: $200

Get fired up for fourth grade! You will get a taste of all the things that make fourth grade at TCA special: KTCA, carpool duty, Bonus Bucks, the Fourth-Grade Store and more! Train for KTCA and be ready to broadcast the first few weeks of school. Homework, tests and projects will be introduced, and you’ll have a chance to sample each. Learn how to organize your notebook, keep your bank account in order and avoid SNURKS! You’ll earn Bonus Bucks and have money in your fourth-grade bank account before school even begins! Best of all, you’ll make new friends and meet people who will be in your class. This course is strongly recommended for students new to TCA. Open to students entering TCA fourth grade only. Good Thyme Gardening Camp

Spend a week learning about what makes a garden grow. From herbs to flowers to insects to plants, we will explore it all! Campers will be making ladybug rocks, fairy gardens, bird feeders, seed bombs and more! They will explore a variety of activities that allow them to discover the world of plants and insects through art, science, gardening and outdoor exploration. Maximum enrollment is 15 students.

LEGO® Films and Stop-Motion!

Take your stop-motion movies to the next level. First, create a story with Stikbots, LEGO bricks, action figures or all three! Then, watch your story come to life using special stopmotion software that allows you to add special effects and go beyond the typical software on a mobile device. Students will need to bring in figures, Stikbots or LEGO bricks from home, but all other equipment will be provided. Student-created films will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Maximum enrollment is 12 students.

Does your child love to build with LEGO bricks? If so, this is the place to be during the summer of 2023! Children will be challenged with a new and exciting LEGO theme each day and given an opportunity to create to their heart’s content. Brainstorming and building a town, participating in vehicle races, constructing weight-bearing structures and more will keep your little builder engaged and entertained this summer. Do you like to shop till you drop? In this practical program, campers become savvy shoppers through games and hands-on projects. Experiential bartering and purchasing activities help students internalize key concepts related to money choices, like needs versus wants. Campers analyze marketing power, put their cashier math skills to the test and engage in dynamic marketplaces, taking turns as buyers and sellers! Maximum enrollment is 20 students.

Multiplication Mania!

Multiplication Mania makes learning multiplication facts fun! A wide variety of hands-on activities, games and sports are used to teach and reinforce skills. Campers will receive tools and learn games to play with family and friends, providing easy ways to continue to develop accurate and automatic recall of math facts at home throughout the summer. This class is designed for all children entering grades 3, 4 or 5, whether they are just beginning to learn the facts or working towards mastery. Musical Story Magic

There’s magic in a story and magic in a song! Join TCA music teacher Jennifer Ross for a picture book a day. My First Lemonade Stand

Let’s sell lemonade! Young students become “lemonade entrepreneurs” and learn how to make yummy lemonade and earn money selling it! From designing marketing flyers to estimating profits to experimenting with recipes, students have fun while developing business savvy. As a showcase event, students launch their lemonade stand to raise money for a charity they select! Maximum enrollment is 20 students.

My First Passport

This fun camp helps students develop a global mindset and build international awareness early in life, an important skill in today’s increasingly interconnected world. Race Across the Rainforest Camp

Silly Snacks & Crazy Concoctions

Hard time figuring out a snack after school? Get rid of the chips and candy it’s time for silly snacks and crazy concoctions! Sky Ranch Day Camp

Sky Ranch Christian Camps is bringing all the fun, discovery and growth of a week of day camp to TCA. Our staff of highly trained, Christian counselors will interact with your child in a week of purposeful play. Each day will include six separate activities to provide a variety of new experiences for your child. Giant inflatables, crazy sports with a camp twist, teambuilding games, Bible exploration and tons of creative fun will leave your child begging for a camp experience all summer long. Space Adventures Camp

Come join us on an adventure as we “take off” and become space explorers and learn about outer space and the wonders of God’s universe. Our classroom will be transformed into a planetarium where space explorers will perform experiments, engineer crafts and eat space snacks. Each day, space explorers will journey to a space station, moon, star or planet. Get ready to have a “blast” as we have an adventure that is “out of this world”! Splish Splash

Get wet, get wild! When things heat up this summer, cooling your spirits with some outdoor water activities is just what the doctor ordered. Enjoy a week full of slip ’n slides, water balloons and super soakers. You’ll also love the indoor time too with the use of water colors, the creation of watermelon art and plenty of other water-themed activities. Don’t forget your bathing suit and a towel for the car ride home! This camp will be the coolest!

Come join us for an exciting week of investigations! Each day we will perform a fun experiment from start to finish. Some of the questions we’ll explore are, “Which paper airplane design will fly the farthest?” and “What boat design will hold the most weight?”

Sunshine Girls: Girls on a Mission

Section 1: June 20–23 (Tu–F only), 1–4 p.m.

Fee: $225

As “Special Agents” doing God’s work, the girls will follow Christ’s example by loving and serving others. They will learn how they can make a difference in the world. Each day, the girls will receive a fun “Top Secret” mission that will provide hands-on opportunities to help those in need, both locally, nationally and worldwide. Some missions include making blankets and dog treats for the local dog shelter and making sandwiches for the Dallas Soup Kitchen. We will also be taking some off-campus field trips for local service projects. The girls will learn what it means to consider others as better than themselves, to look not only to their own interests, but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3–4). As we complete each mission, lives will be impacted through prayer and service. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.

Trinity Christian Academy is so excited to continue to grow its own amazing day camp for the third consecutive year! Trojan Day Camp is the only local Christian day camp in the area! It provides all the amazing aspects of popular sleep-away camps with the convenience and peace of mind of keeping your child right here in the Dallas area for the summer. With a staff of young adults and regular TCA instructors who are all familiar with the mission and teachings of TCA during the school year, we are excited to spread the word of Jesus through our own creative summer activities. Children in each grade level will travel together throughout the day with a counselor to various activities, which may include art, sports, STEM, Bible, world language, water activities and even some friendly competition mixed in. Each camp week will feature a unique theme with activities that tie into Biblebased topics. Most of all, we seek to form relationships between the counselors and the children in a way that leads our campers to seek out the wisdom of Jesus in all that they do. Weird Nature Science

Have you ever wanted to be a scientist? Or to increase your understanding of the natural world? Well, you’re in luck! In this class, we’ll be learning about physics and the natural world through fun, easy science experiments that you can take home. We’ll learn about states of matter through building volcanos; we’ll learn about sound through creating “naturally occurring speakers.” Along the way, we’ll be taking our experiments outside in order to improve the environment at our school by planting simple gardens and making bird feeders. It’s the perfect club if you love science, nature, engineering or just making things blow up. This class has a maximum enrollment of 12.

Yoda Soda & Other Jedi Treats: Star Wars Cooking

Section 1: June 20–23 (Tu–F only), 9 a.m.–noon

Featuring food from a galaxy far, far away. If a Tusken Raider, an Ewok and a Jedi walked into your cantina, what would you feed them? Wookie Cookies, Boba Fett-uccine and Yoda Soda, of course! This class will be your guide to cooking with The Force. In the time it takes to vanquish an ice creature, we will whip up a snack to tame any Jabba-sized hunger. Accept the challenge, young Rebel. To strengthen the Force, we’ll mix in some Star Wars Legos and crafts while waiting for our Jedi creations to bake. Maximum enrollment is 12 students.

World Cruise Camp by Challenge Island

Set sail for imagination and adventure with this world-class camp! You and your first mates will design a cruise ship and embark on a voyage around the globe. You’ll engineer your way through the world’s most popular ports: from the Alaskan glaciers to Ancient Greece to the canals of Venice to the Galapagos Islands. Young Coders

This class is for curious young minds who want to take the first steps into the world of programming. Student explorers will use their creativity to solve a series of web-based coding challenges. Each lesson builds fluency in essential digital skills needed for the future. At the end of the class, students will receive access to the interactive learning platform to continue their coding journey at home.

Art of Scripture Journaling

Section 1: July 10–14, 1–4 p.m.

Entering grades: 5–8

Fee: $245

This will be a guided course through selected chapters of the Bible. The class will read and discuss Scripture and then create original artworks through drawings, collage and watercolor. Responding with art allows students to slow down and better see the beauty and depth of the Word. Artworks created will help to recall, apply and share the teachings of Scripture. This class will teach the basics of art journaling with an introduction and emphasis on drawing. Enjoy this for one week or leave with the tools that create a lifelong practice of loving and communicating to the Lord through the arts.

Ceramics Earthenware

Section 1: June 12–16, 9 a.m.–noon

Come explore ceramic hand-building as we create unique earthenware planting pots. This course will focus on slab and coil construction of large unique planters. A variety of carving and additive techniques, including press molds and relief work, will be used to bring these pots to life. The large surface area of these planters have plenty of room to put your creativity on display. The work will be fired after the completion of the course.

Calling all future coders, programmers and designers! Learn the basics of coding languages like HTML, JavaScript and CSS through a series of web projects and design challenges each day and be on your way to becoming the next tech star! Whether you want to be a Silicon Valley CEO or the high school student who just made $1 million for programming in her bedroom, this course has the essentials you need to begin your journey. Projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build in previous years.
