TRINITY UPDATES OCTOBER 2023 | ISSUE 3
PRESIDENTS NOTE
UPCOMING EVENTS
Team TRINITY, Q4 2023 is upon us. The year has been very eventful, on many fronts. Many of our initiatives have been accomplished; our Safety program is running at full speed. James Hartman has developed our plan and training throughout the year, and we sincerely appreciate the commitment and dedication everyone is showing to maintaining a SAFE environment on all TRINITY sites. Our continued goal is to maintain our vigilance and adherence to the program. Let’s keep everyone going home safely today, through year end 2023, and always. Summer 2023 was very good for the TRINITY Intern program, thanks to the hard work Alex, Kristen, Maureen, and Ben put in. We had four students join us over the summer and gave them a very immersive look at our company and our industry. All our interns had the opportunity to visit project sites and experience hands on building; they participated in the Estimating process; all took an active part in managing our Safety program; and the interns got a glimpse into the world of information and financial project management. Our interns represent the future. We hope they got strong value from their experience and look forward to continuing the program. In September, our TRINITY Family picnic was a success despite the weather. It was truly good to see everyone there, with family members joining in. Getting the chance to take a break and enjoy each other’s company is a nice change from the daily rigors of our projects. It’s hard to believe that in only a few weeks we’ll be gathering for our annual TRINITY holiday event. We hope EVERYONE can join us this year. As our market continues to tighten, the TRINITY team is hard at work to fill the opportunity pipeline. Our Business Development and Marketing team are out and about, carrying the TRINITY flag at various industry events. That said, we ALL can be advocates for TRINITY and help find and win project opportunities. The BEST Business Development there is, is strong project execution. If we deliver superior projects for our clients, on time, under budget and with great product quality (sound familiar? Safety/Time/Money/Quality?) they will come back for more. Projects are scarce, the competition is fierce so we must be the best of the best! Let that be our challenge for 2023 into 2024; let’s find more projects, win them, and execute them with EXCELLENCE! Thank you all, Reg Arnold

Summer has ended and we are looking ahead into fall and winter. Prepping for season changes is crucial to the overall safety of the company and job sites. Dressing in layers and warm clothing can help maintain your body temperature and help avoid cold weather injuries. Having a warming shelter near your job site is not just a luxury but important for worker safety. We continue to do stretch and flex which warms our body and primes us to work efficiently. One common missed safety talk is the continuous drinking of water. More times than none workers forget to drink water in colder weather months. Lastly, stay vigilant and keep a sharp eye on each during the winter months. Complacency during the holiday season is always at a higher risk. Have a great safe last quarter of 2023.

What is your favorite quote? ““Pies, ¿para qué los quiero si tengo alas para volar?” (“Feet, why do I want them if I have wings to fly?”) -Frida Kahlo What is something about yourself (a fun fact) that people may not know? “Hmmm, I’m afraid of mice/rats and heights. But I will still ride a roller coaster (I love the adrenaline)! ” Tell us about yourself and your career at TRINITY! “I’m a native New Yorker, born and raised, and moved to Virginia in 2017. Prior to starting at TRINITY, the same year, I had a career background in accounting and recent work experience as an administrative assistant in a real estate/management office back in New York City. Coming in as an estimator coordinator at TRINITY was a whole different world for me because I had no knowledge about the construction industry, but TRINITY gave me the opportunity to build a new career in something I never imagine about doing as a career and for that I’m very appreciative. Overall, TRINITY has been a second family to me and a great support system, career wise and in the personal aspect, and I’m delighted to be part of!”
What is your favorite hobby? “Work around my house, hang out with my family, ride my motorcycle.” What is one thing on your bucket list? “I want to do an 1/8 mile in under 4 seconds. So, if anyone knows someone with a dragster, please have them contact me!” What is your favorite quote? “I find this quote inspirational….Anyone can be a Magician!
Tell us about your pets? "I have a 3 year old German Shepherd named Caleb who goes most places with me (including flying across the country). I also have two horses that still live the pasture pet lifestyle in Washington state. “ Why did you choose a career in construction? "I started off my career working in law firms for six years – but, burned out and decided to go back to school. I love buildings the way some people love artwork, and thought I wanted to be an architect. I made it six days in architecture school before discovering construction management, and never looked back. The best lesson I have learned in construction so far is to find the common ground between all parties – and then to focus on shared interests to set goals and drive results. If we can get everyone to buy into the same goals it helps get everyone pushing in the same direction instead of pulling in opposite directions.”

“If you take any activity, any art, any discipline, any skill, take it and push it as far as it will go, push it beyond where it has ever been before, push it to the wildest edge of edges, then you force it into the realm of magic.” ― Tom Robbins”
