LETTER FROM THE
HEAD OF
SCHOOL Thank you to the faculty for being part of this very special team. Together we have created a superior academic program where young women are challenged to be lifelong learners and innovative and creative students. To this community – thank you for honoring me in establishing Mary’s Fund for the Girls: Now and Forever. To all of you – whether you ran or walked, played golf, or lined the path, whether you contributed directly to the fund – you are making a difference for the future of Trinity Hall. I thank you so much for giving to this very important campaign that will provide funds for future Trinity Hall students. Dear Family and Friends of Trinity Hall, As I officially begin my retirement and pass the responsibility for leading this wonderful school to Mary Kate Blaine, I think back on my time at Trinity Hall and everyone that I have met in this extraordinary community. I am very blessed and feel so loved – thank you for making my final days in these halls so special. We made it through the year and together we have been resilient, strong, and committed. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the founding head of Trinity Hall. Thank you to Victoria and Justin Gmelich, Mairead and Sean Clifford, and members of the founding board for entrusting me with this responsibility. You gifted me with an opportunity filled with challenges and together we have created a place where girls learn best and grow into the finest young women. Our graduates are shining stars – sit back and bask in their light – it shines so brightly.

As the founding head, my future will always include Trinity Hall. I expect to remain a loyal donor, a faithful fan, and committed team member. God has been our strength and He will continue to provide the direction and blessings as Trinity Hall grows and remains steadfast in its mission to educate and empower young women. With a grateful heart, I thank you for the privilege you have given me as head of school. Missing you already and looking forward to hearing your stories. I will stay in touch! With much gratitude and love for this community,
Trinity Hall Founding Head of School 2012 - 2021
HISTORY
2020-2021 LEADERSHIP
In 2010, after many years of discussion, Mairead and Sean Clifford, Victoria and Justin Gmelich, and many others began the journey of starting an independent, all-girls high school in Monmouth County. The first step was to hire a professional educational consulting firm to conduct a county-wide feasibility study which proved an overwhelming demand for a single-sex school to serve the young women of our region.
ADMINISTRATION:
In September 2013, we opened our doors to an inaugural class in a temporary location in Leonardo, NJ before moving to our permanent location at the former Fort Monmouth in Tinton Falls. The campus has undergone renovations and a major expansion over the years. Today Trinity Hall has over 300 students from more than 55 different towns in Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean counties.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES:

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
Preparation for final projects in Engineering kicked off in the spring, with students using 3D printers, soldering irons, band saws, and other tools. Freshman classes soldered LED light-up bracelets and greeting cards while sophomores, in the urban planning phase of the interdisciplinary Sustainable City project, began working on their city’s layout. Juniors focused on biomedical engineering by simulating a turkey bone and later working to create a device that could mend a broken bone and increase its mobility. Seniors were tasked with finding a unique solution to a real world problem they are passionate about, and challenged them to showcase the four years of engineering skills they had accumulated as their capstone project. 6
The Queen’s Court Company made Trinity Hall history in the late fall with not one but three virtual productions. Help Desk, an exclusively freshman production, premiered in November, starring eight girls playing multiple roles throughout a series of shorts. Two productions of Clue? were performed for a virtual audience in December. Haley Karinja ’21 was the assistant director for all three virtual productions, which won her first place for stage management in a NJ secondary school theatre festival and competition sponsored by the Speech and Theatre Association of New Jersey (STAN), in conjunction with New Jersey’s Annual Governor’s Awards in Arts Education. After production was shut down in March 2020, Sister Act was finally brought to the stage in May 2021 as Trinity Hall’s spring musical. The cast and crew worked hard to modify the show for outdoor evening performances and were involved in every aspect of the production from sewing costumes to building pieces of the set.
Faith Montagnino’s ’22 one-act play, “A Play by Us,” was chosen to be performed during the Middletown Arts Center’s One-Acts, a festival featuring original works by local playwrights. Accomplished Irish dancers Caitie Szyszko ’24 and Riana MacDermott ’24 shared an overview of Irish dancing and led students and faculty in a lesson on basic steps. The students have both competed in the World Irish Dancing Championships, for which only one percent of dancers qualify.

The Trinity Hall community had the privilege of virtually meeting four inspiring Women in Leadership speakers throughout the year: Cynt Marshall, Dallas Mavericks CEO, spoke about her experience as the first black female CEO in the history of the National Basketball Association. Wonya Lucas, President and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, answered questions from students about what it takes to be a strong leader.
The Garden Club was awarded 32 milkweed plugs for their pollinator garden by Monarch Watch, a nonprofit educational outreach program that focuses on the monarch butterfly, its habitat, and its spectacular fall migration. The Butterfly Garden at Trinity Hall was registered as an official Monarch Waystation, meaning that it provides resources necessary for Monarch butterflies to lay eggs and sustain their migration. 8
Jennifer Pharr Davis, renowned backpacker and founder of Blue Ridge Hiking Company, shared lessons learned while hiking the Appalachian Trail (she broke the record for overall fastest known time in 2011) and encouraged everyone to take a break in the outdoors during her program. Meghan Duggan, Trinity Hall’s 2018 Leading Ladies Luncheon speaker and US Hockey Team Olympic gold medalist, returned in a virtual meeting with students and faculty moderated by Anna Clements ‘22, a founding member of the Trinity Hall ice hockey team. Duggan shared her advice on persevering through challenges, visualizing success, and supporting one another.
The 2020-2021 season for many sports proved to be exceptionally challenging as start times were changed, new Covid-19 protocols were enacted, and not all teams were given the opportunity to compete in a post-season.
BUT THE TRINITY HALL MONARCHS ROSE TO THE OCCASION IN REMARKABLE WAYS:
8 teams undefeated in the regular season

Four swimmers – Gianna Cofone ’23, McLane Gmelich ’23, Molly McKenna ’23, and Jessica Zebrowski ’21 – were named to The Absury Park Press NJ Girls Swimming First Team All-Shore. Volleyball captains Katherine Chafart ’21, Jean Gilbride ’21, and Sophia Lehman ’22 led the team during a postponed and shortened new 3A season, created for winter sports in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The team was undefeated 9-0, their best record in the program’s history.
7 division champions Cross Country | Golf | Lacrosse | Soccer Tennis | Track and Field | Volleyball
Charlotte Walsh ’21 claimed the title of state champion in the 100m hurdles and the long jump, and the 4x800m relay team of Grace Child ’22, Isabel Garcia ’21, Allison Lawson ’21 and Cecilia Peters ’21 also earned the championship title.

Basketball – Pod C | Golf Haven Dora ’22 scored her 100th goal in lacrosse during a very successful season for the team – earning the titles of State Champions, NJSIAA Prep-B State Champions, Top 10 Shore Conference, and Top 10 NJ. The golf team celebrated a strong season after earning the titles, for the first time in school history, of Monmouth County Champions, Shore Conference Champions, and Top 10 Shore Conference.
Two Monarchs were recognized for outstanding achievements as Trinity Hall athletes: Madison Kelly ’21 earned the National Girls and Women in Sports Day Award by NJSIAA and Allison Lawson ’21 earned the Shore Conference Sportsmanship Award. 9
SCOPE’s Love Week in February provided students the opportunity to have fun together while giving back to the community. SCOPE members ran three days of various events to support Madonna House, the MSPCA, and St. Dorothea’s. Over $650 (and a lot of handmade cat toys) were donated to the organizations.
The week ended with a special performance of “Lean on Me” by Trinity Hall’s Glee Club at a virtual Coffee House sponsored by the Arts Council centered around the themes of love and friendship. Students, faculty, and even alumnae submitted videos prior to the event, and included performances of “Wide Open Spaces” by The Chicks, “We Can be Kind” as a nod to Head of School Mary Sciarrillo, and “Ikaw” by Yeng Constantino, performed in the language of Tagalog by Alexandra Talamayan ’22.

Abigail Marcin ’17, Christine Hanlon P’20, ’23, ’24, Monmouth County Clerk, and Pat Suplee from the League of Women Voters provided information on voting, civic participation and leadership to juniors and seniors ahead of the 2020 Presidential election. Meredith Farrington ’21 and Leighton Van Wagner ’21 won second place in the Monmouth County Clerk’s 2020 High School Voting and Video Contest. The seniors raised awareness about the importance of voting and highlighted the 100th anniversary of the amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote. Jacqueline Chafart ’21, Katerina Chafart ’21, and Vienna Chafart ’21 were selected as Trinity Hall’s recipients of the Monmouth County Guidance Directors Association 2021 Caring Award, which celebrates students who have shown exceptional caring and compassion to a cause, group, or program during their high school careers. The Chafarts were recognized for their work with The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, a local organization that brings smiles to children with cancer through special trips and events, and offers financial assistance to their families.

On June 11, 2021 the Trinity Hall community gathered to celebrate founding Head of School Mary Sciarrillo as she prepared to retire after a nearly 30-year career in all-girls education. The board of trustees, past and current parents, current students and alumnae, former faculty and board members all attended the outdoor closing Mass and program commemorating Mary’s legacy of service and leadership. The day concluded with a few of Mary’s favorite things – good music, delicious food, and smiling students and colleagues.
“I guarantee that what people will say about you will not be about what you achieved for yourself but what you achieved for others. Not how big a campfire you built but how well you kept others warm, how well you illuminated the night to make them feel safe, and how beautiful you left the campsite for those who would come after you to build the next fire.” – Lisa Calandrino, mother of Nicole Calandrino ’17, Villanova University ’21 12
As you embark on your well-deserved retirement, we students of Trinity Hall will continue to live by your famous motto: Let go and let God. – Charlotte Walsh ’21
“Your courage to embark on the journey that is Trinity Hall has given us another place to call home. We are sad to say goodbye, but most of all, forever grateful for all that you have made possible for us. – Dayra Mejia-Reyes ’22
“Mary, you have created a world here that is unlike any other. There is a vibe that exudes love and learning and hope and strength. You have had a way of connecting and developing a shared understanding here. You have built a family; it will have a lasting impact.” – Melissa Fairchild, faculty member 13

FOR THE GIRLS:
Now AN AND D Fo Forrever
In June of 2021, Trinity Hall Founding Head of School Mary Sciarrillo retired after nearly 30 years in all-girls education. It was Mary’s wish to make a Trinity Hall education accessible to families at all income levels. Mary’s Fund for the Girls: Now and Forever, a financial aid and endowment fund, was started in Mary’s honor to ensure that her legacy would live on in an impactful way.
Together, the Trinity Hall community raised over $500,000 by making donations and pledges, and participating in a variety of events in support of Mary’s Fund.

ALUMNAE
Trinity Hall alumnae were asked to reflect on their time at Trinity Hall with founding Head of School Mary Sciarrillo. Here is some of what they shared:
During my time at Trinity Hall and even now, three years later after my graduation, I think of Mrs. Sciarrillo’s dedication and commitment to the school from the very start. I remember her presence at the open houses and her testimony to what it meant to have a single-sex education, all of which were defined by her grit, perseverance, and her faith in something that is much bigger than all of us. – Diana Bilotta ’18
Mrs. Sciarrillo once referred to Trinity Hall in the metaphor of a bus. She explained to us the “leap of faith” we took, along with her and the faculty, was like “getting on the bus.” Mrs. Sciarrillo was the bus driver, and the students and faculty all played an important role in keeping the bus moving. Being on the bus meant being committed to the whole Trinity Hall community. – Chloe Toole ’17 and George Washington University ’21
Mrs. Sciarrillo’s unwavering support and faith in us as students will stay with each and every one of us for the rest of our lives. She is the embodiment of a committed, passionate, and kind woman that Trinity Hall taught me to be. - Alexa Sadowski ’20 18
Mrs. Sciarrillo has always supported and encouraged us during our time at Trinity Hall. She always believed in me and taught me to believe in myself. I’m so grateful for all the support she has given me through my four years and beyond. – Amelia Biebel ’17, Centenary University ’21
ALUMNAE SPOTLIGHT Shantal Ferrer ’20
You have built an amazing foundation for this school in which future generations of girls will get to experience the “Trinity Hall Way” and the environment which you have created where every girl feels empowered and at home. You have touched each and every one of your students, and I know without you and your compassion and dedication I would not be the person I am today. – Hannah Reynolds ’19
was presented with a St. Timothy Award by the Diocese of Trenton’s Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries. The award recognizes youth who follow in the footsteps of St. Timothy by living out their faith and serving as role models for involvement in their parishes, schools and local communities. Shantal was nominated by her parish, Mother of Mercy Parish in Asbury Park, where she served as a monitor at the Spanish Mass and was a member of the youth group. She is currently studying art therapy at Caldwell University.
Caroline Gmelich ’17 I am so grateful that Mrs. Sciarrillo helped teach me how to be a creative free thinker and how to be a strong independent woman in the classroom, on the court, and in every aspect of my life. – Caitlin Wingertzahn ’20
I don’t think a simple thank you would be enough! Mrs. Sciarrillo’s constant support, dedication, and love made us feel so at home in the Trinity Hall hallway. Without her, Trinity Hall wouldn’t be the amazing place it is today.
competed in the US Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, NE in the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly. Caroline graduated from the University of Virginia in 2021 where she was a six-time All American and holds an American record in the 200 yard medley relay for the backstroke leg of the relay during which she and her UVA teammates set the record at the ACC Championship meet.

Q&A
WITH THE ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION
President Nicole LoRusso and Vice President Grace Molloy, members of the Trinity Hall Class of 2017, answered a few questions on behalf of the the Alumnae Association. 1. You are the first chairs of the Alumnae Association - congratulations! Why was it important to you to become a part of this organization? N: Once four classes had graduated, it was clear to Grace and me that a formal, alumnae-led Alumnae Association was essential. Mentorship is something that is really important to me; as part of the inaugural class, I wanted to make sure that we had a formalized way to be there for one another and the current students, so every graduate could continue to feel those close ties to Trinity Hall. G: The Trinity Hall community has given me so much over the years and this is a small way I can show my gratitude and remain connected with those whose constant support allowed me to get to where I am today.
2. What are your goals for the Alumnae Association? N: Two of our biggest goals for the Alumnae Association are maintaining that tight-knit connection of the Trinity Hall community long after alumnae graduate, and continuing to inspire both alumnae and students. G: I am excited for the future growth of the Alumnae Association as we welcome new members and introduce new traditions, but most importantly to continue to serve as a link between the Alumnae as we branch out into the world.
3. What is a favorite memory from your time at Trinity Hall? N: One of my favorite memories of my time at Trinity Hall was when the first edition of the Trinity Hall Tribune was published. I remember working with Mrs. Morreale for so long to bring it to life and it was so incredible to see it actually come into fruition and continue to grow. Especially now that I’m working in PR, it’s a big full circle moment. G: My favorite memory was my final performance with the Queen’s Court Company. It was incredible to see how much we had all grown as individuals and as a company since our first performance. My fellow QCC members played such a large role in my Trinity Hall experience and I am so grateful that we all got to be a part of such historic moments for the school community.
4. Why is supporting Trinity Hall as an alumna and donor important to you? N: Trinity Hall was pivotal for my academic and professional growth and development, and it has empowered me to become a leader throughout my education and career. I hope to help current and future students have the same incredible experience that I had during my time at Trinity. G: I want to ensure that Trinity Hall can continue to educate and inspire young women for generations to come. Our continued support as alumnae is vital in allowing access to the opportunities we were afforded during our time at Trinity.

large part, the reason Trinity Hall got off to such a successful start. Her selfless dedication of time, treasure, and talent serves as a great example of what hard work, quiet wisdom, and years of experience can do to create and move forward an organization such as Trinity Hall. Mary’s mantra has always been to keep the girls at the forefront of everything we do, and that has fostered a culture that is unique. Last year our national search allowed us to interview many qualified candidates but ultimately led us to hire Mary Kate Blaine as our second Head of School. She has vowed to stand on the shoulders of those who came before her and to carry out the mission of Trinity Hall. While the pandemic challenged us, Mary Kate shared that the girls make her smile and laugh each day and that she is grateful to have landed in such a warm and welcoming community. As I write this, we are days away from being unmasked in school. I know we are all collectively thrilled to put the pandemic behind us, and I am so excited for the girls to smile, laugh, and be enriched by unencumbered dialogue and facial expression. The last two years have been challenging for the world and also for us at Trinity Hall. We have had to be incredibly creative in all manners of navigating the pandemic. In the Fall of 2020, we opened our doors to full-time, in-person learning. We were the only local high school doing so. Even though we were masked, using one-way traffic, and practicing social distancing, the girls were together – in our hallways and our classrooms. We bought additional tables and made good use of our outdoor space. The time-consuming contact tracing we needed to do for the health and safety of our community certainly required much effort but doing so meant our girls were able to stay in school for the entire year! We more than doubled the days of in-person learning that our local counterparts provided. The tireless effort the School put into staying open throughout the 2020-2021 school year was laudable. The hoops our faculty and administration jumped through were many. The Board of Trustees more than acknowledged the commitment of faculty and staff by offering a Covid bonus for employees and instituted a “whatever it takes” mindset to support our students and our faculty. Trinity Hall recognizes that our faculty is the lifeblood of our School and that we need to nourish and encourage their leadership, hard work, and dedication. Last school year marked the retirement of our founding Head and fearless leader, Mary Sciarrillo. Mary is, in
In 2021, we saw the first class of collegiate graduates from the Trinity Hall Class of 2017. This milestone is one of which we are incredibly proud. To think that we now have sent forth 32 young women into the workforce and the world at large is a checkmark on the list of dreams come true for me as a co-founder, and I am excited for all of us. This year I leave my role as Board Chair. I am proud of so many moments we have achieved together. One of the most notable is the establishment of our scholarship and endowment program, Mary’s Fund for the Girls: Now and Forever. This financial instrument will continue to grow and become a vehicle of strength that will lead Trinity Hall into the future and secure its mission. I hand over the torch to Miriam Tort as she becomes the next Trinity Hall Board Chair. She brings with her a new slate of officers – Kerry Devine and Abby Kelly as Co-Vice Chairs, and Torrey Plank as Secretary. Patrick Donnelly remains our Treasurer. I thank them for everything they have done for the School to date and for the acceptance of the work ahead on behalf of Trinity Hall. We thank every parent and supporter for recognizing the importance of these four years of a girl’s life. I know, without hesitation, Trinity Hall will be a lasting influence on each girl. Please know we strive each and every day to make Trinity Hall the best it can be. With sincere dedication,
Victoria Gmelich Board of Trustees, Chair Founder, Trinity Hall

OTHER FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS Your support of the school through charitable gifts, volunteer opportunities, and participation in fundraising events is important as a key member of the Trinity Hall community. The Fund for Trinity Hall is an annual campaign but as new needs arise at the school, new campaigns are created to address those needs. Here are some other ways that you can help Trinity Hall continue to flourish:
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN Trinity Hall’s first capital campaign raised funds needed for the repurposing of the original Fort Monmouth building and two-story addition that took place in 2018-2019. Additional campaigns will seek to improve our campus with school facilities that continue to address all of the needs of our students both in and out of the classroom. Our goals are ambitious, yet attainable with your generosity.
LEAVE A LEGACY Leave a Legacy through a variety of naming opportunities in honor of your Trinity Hall graduate. Current needs of the school are supported by donations made to this campaign, and your daughter’s name can be engraved on a brick, locker plaque, or leaf on our donor tree in honor of her time spent in our halls.
SPECIAL EVENTS Annual events like the gala or golf outing help the school to raise funds while creating opportunities for the community to gather and celebrate. Joining a committee, donating gifts for an online auction, or helping to make connections to sponsors in the area are just some of the ways you can support Trinity Hall fundraising.

CO-VALEDICTORIAN An excerpt from the co-valedictorian address given by Caitlin Ramos. Caitlin is a member of the Stanford University Class of 2025. It’s an honor to stand here as your covaledictorian, but today we leave here all the same, with heartwarming memories and bright futures built off the foundation that Trinity Hall provided us. Trinity Hall has truly given us the full experience. We have learned from the brightest minds, with teachers not only committed to making sure we understand every last calculus theorem but also to giving us the guidance to succeed, serving as both our role models and friends. We have thrived in sports and the arts, winning countless awards and truly making our mark on Trinity Hall. We have learned how to be good citizens in history classes, how to strengthen our faith in Theology, how to dodge T’s scooter in the hallways, how to swiftly kick a predator in the groin, and even how to survive a global pandemic together. In our four years at Trinity Hall, we have been given the skills to go out and set the world on fire. Looking at all of you today, it is hard to believe that just a few years ago we were all scared little teenagers, with no idea of what our years at Trinity Hall would have in store for us. Looking back, those small bonding moments are the ones that I cherish most. I know fifty years from now, when we’re all old but hopefully not that wrinkly, those will be the things we remember most about Trinity Hall. We will remember the small moments that made up every day, and the happiness that surrounded them. Now, we have our whole futures ahead of us, and that might seem scary or overwhelming at times. So, as we embark onto the next journey in life, I challenge you all to appreciate the little moments, because they are what make life truly special. Enjoy every smile, every laugh, every small victory, and never take life too seriously. Go out and be a light to the world, using the skills and values that Trinity Hall has instilled within every one of us since day one. I cannot wait to see the beautiful mark you make on the world.
Congratulations Class of 2021, we did it! 42
ADDRESSES An excerpt from the co-valedictorian address given by Charlotte Walsh. Charlotte is a member of the Princeton University Class of 2025. Welcome family and friends, faculty, Trustees, fellow graduates, and most especially, Mrs. Sciarrillo, our fearless leader who is graduating with us, the class of 2021, and embarking on her well-deserved retirement. On behalf of the class of 2021, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for building the Trinity Hall community from the ground up. Because of you, we have made lifelong friends, beautiful memories, and as the windows on career panelists would be happy to hear, many LinkedIn connections. God Bless you and your family on this next step of your journey. We like to consider ourselves the last class of the “original” Trinity Hall: empowered by Mrs. Sciarrillo and preceded by the founding classes who taught us things like the Trinity Hall way, how to write a professional email, and that reading the community notes and breathing are of equal importance. Along with our personal growth, the building also grew during our time at Trinity Hall. We were here when “the Hall” became the Halls. The unofficial student-run bakery of sorts that housed pastries on each of the four benches of the west wing suddenly became a franchise with a whole new building. The knowledge and experience that we’ve gained at Trinity Hall are no doubt thanks to the dedicated teachers and college counselors with whom we have formed strong relationships. Over the last four years, we have had the blessing, and sometimes unwanted responsibility, of learning a lot. I would like to leave you all with some of the words of my classmates in expressing hopes for the future. Faith hopes we remember that asking for help does not mean we have failed; Vienna hopes we never lose sight of our self-worth; Jordan hopes that Gabby can get 67 extra family tickets to the Army-Navy games; Brynn hopes for all of us to grow spicier with age; and Morgan hopes that one of us will become richer than Elon Musk.
THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST SISTERS A GIRL COULD EVER ASK FOR. CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2021. 43
COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS Miriam Tort, Founding Board Member, current Vice Chair, and recipient of the 2019 Founders’ Award, addressed the Class of 2021. Here are a few excerpts from her Commencement Address: Good evening Class of 2021, Mrs. Sciarrillo, administration, faculty, parents, and my fellow trustees. It is an honor to address you. I am the daughter of Cuban Immigrants. In her early 20’s, not much older than you are now, my mother was forced to leave her home in Havana, to escape a dictatorship in search of a better life for her and her daughter. She arrived in New York City with an eighth-grade education and a limited command of the English language, but with her incredible work ethic and a supporting family, she quickly established herself in a foreign environment. My mother learned English, became an American citizen, and enrolled in school to become a licensed beautician. Before long, she opened her own business. Because of the salon’s proximity, many of my mother’s clients were from the university community. It was from these women that she learned how education can create opportunities for prosperity in this country.
When I was in elementary school, I would walk a few blocks to my mom’s shop after school to do my homework, help where I could, and talk with her clients. I did not realize it at the time, but my mother was intentionally surrounding me with women that were fostering in me a passion for learning. They expanded my horizons by introducing me to their careers and exposing me to all the world has to offer. It took years for me to truly understand how this exposure impacted the trajectory of my life. Over my lifetime, my mother has given me many gifts, but the one that has served me best, and continues to serve me today, is the love of learning. Learning is a lifelong process and the best anti-aging remedy! As a child you innately loved to learn. You explored the world around you and even the smallest accomplishment, observation or surprise was a learning experience. During your middle school years, perhaps learning was not as much fun. It was more of a chore; something you were required to do. But then came Trinity Hall. During these past four years, the faculty, guided by the leadership of Mrs. Sciarrillo, strived to rekindle, and foster a love for learning by creating an environment in which you could seek inspiration and expand your
44
knowledge. The atmosphere at Trinity Hall encouraged collaboration and investigation of topics that interest you. You were free to develop your own ideas, express your feelings, take risks, make choices, and become strong and thoughtful young women. You are confident in your own capabilities today, because you have been intellectually challenged. Mrs. Sciarrillo shares my love for learning, which is why it was so important to her to establish a school where girls would be excited to attend and develop a passion for learning. In fact, Mrs. Sciarrillo’s children, Marianne, Andrea, and Anthony shared with me that this was the same environment their mother created for them when they were growing up. They told me learning was not about the textbook but about what you could do with that knowledge. She taught them to see beyond the classroom, to see the big picture.
I hope you find something that you are curious about, something that inspires you, something that you genuinely love. And I hope that you pursue it relentlessly. Keep searching for new ideas. I encourage you to take a class simply out of curiosity, attend speaking events, join clubs, reach outside your comfort zone. Expanding your knowledge base can open doors in life that you did not know existed.
Everything necessary for a meaningful lifetime was not obtained during your four years here at Trinity Hall nor will it be in the next four years at college. Rather, my hope for you, Class of 2021, is that Trinity Hall has provided you with a foundational curiosity and has ignited in you a spark of passion for learning, upon which you will continue to build for the rest of your life. As my mother did for me so many years ago, I hope Trinity Hall has surrounded you with inspiring people that have fostered in you a desire to learn and expanded your horizons. Congratulations Class of 2021 and may God continue to bless and protect you all the days of your life.

FOUNDERS’ AWARD
The Founders’ Award serves to recognize the member or members of the Trinity Hall community whose commitment to the success of Trinity Hall mirrors the dedication of the Founders – Mairead and Sean Clifford and Victoria and Justin Gmelich. Trinity Hall was founded with the vision to educate and empower young women in the Catholic tradition, finally giving girls in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties an academically rigorous single-sex option for their high school years. Each year, the faculty committee will nominate for this award and the selection will be made by the founders. The fifth Founders’ Award is presented to founding Head of School Mary Sciarrillo.
46
“From a vision, you created an institution and, more importantly, a wonderful culture of community which is knitted with the threads of the school’s core values of leadership, respect, perseverance, and faith.” – Sean Clifford, co-founder and member of the board of trustees; father of Brigid Clifford ’18, Molly Clifford ’20, and Ciara Clifford ’22
