Commencement Saturday, May 18

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Trinity Law School, and the broader University community, please accept my congratulations for making it to this milestone in your legal career – your law school graduation! We have prayed for and with you as you journeyed through the halls of Trinity and look forward to sharing this special day with you and your family and friends. Commencement is a special time for all law schools, but at Trinity we go the extra mile to make it a time of great celebration. In addition to the traditional fanfare of the day and the great joy I have of hosting our post-ceremony luncheon, I am always eager to announce the guest speaker for Commencement. This year we have the pleasure of having Jim Palmer, President of Orange County Rescue Mission, deliver our Commencement Address. Among Jim’s many accomplishments, he has served the Rescue Mission as president since 1992, established The Village of Hope in Tustin, has been elected to numerous local and county leadership roles, and was nominated by President George Jim Palmer, President of W. Bush and unanimously confirmed Orange County Rescue Mission by the U.S. Senate as a Director on the Board of the Corporation for National and Community Service. Jim completed his term of service to that Board in 2011. Most impressive to me, though, is his humble spirit of service towards those in need – advocating for the homeless, hungry and the youngest among us, the children of Southern California. I am sure you will be challenged and encouraged by Jim’s address as you celebrate your milestone and consider the many ways in which your legal education will be put to service. Again, my congratulations and I look forward to our celebration on May 18. Myron Steeves, Dean of Trinity Law School

Alumni Relations has contracted professional photography to capture the day’s festivities, as well as professional head shots for law school archival purposes. Please note the following: • Crystal Worley of CW Photography will be on campus Wednesday, April 3 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm and Thursday, April 4 from 1:00 pm to 6:30 pm taking professional head shots. We request that all graduates have their photo taken at this time to be included in the 2012-13 Class Photo - only photos taken at this time will be included, those not present will be listed as “photo not available”. This is a very important item for recording the history of TLS. There is no charge for the head shot - Ms. Worley will have other photo “packages” available for purchase. Professional attire is required men in coat in tie, women please wear a jacket. • Graduates will have photos taken of their hooding and degree presentations as they cross the platform. Approximately eight weeks after Commencement, graduates will receive a professional collage photo of their hooding and degree presentation, as well as a link to the law school’s Commencement Gallery on SmugMug where pictures will be available for download free of charge. • Family and friends are welcome to take photographs (from the designated photo area only, please) of graduates as they receive their degree. • A specially created backdrop will also be available for candid photography with family, friends, classmates, etc. - located inside the entry to The Commons. • Alumni Relations has also contracted a professional videographer to capture the festivities. A DVD copy of the Commencement ceremony will be mailed to you along with the photos noted above. Out of respect for other guests in attendance, we request that no video recording occur from the seating area of the Sanctuary.
