Our Swansea campuses have a reputation for innovative industry-led and career-driven programmes. Founded in 1853, the Swansea campus is spread across a number of dedicated centres – all within easy reach of the city centre. Our students study in some of the city’s most beautiful historic buildings and newest, most innovative ones.

Conveniently located in the city centre, UWTSD provides easy access to shopping, entertainment, sport, culture and nightlife, plus a magnificent beach and the stunning Gower coast just a few miles up the road.

Each subject area has its own facilities with access to specialist equipment, learning resources, workshops and IT suites.

SA1 SWANSEA WATERFRONT

Our new £350m development offers an exciting new location by the sea. It provides an innovative mix of education and enterprise in the city’s maritime area with its barrage and sail bridge, attractive architecture, cool cafes, restaurants and bars. The new home of our Swanseabased Architecture, Built & Natural Environments, Computing, Engineering, Education, Counselling and Psychology courses has been developed in partnership with the Welsh Government, the City & County of Swansea and business and industry, to boost graduate employment and transform the learning environment for our students.

Our Dynevor and Alexandra Road campus buildings are home to the Swansea College of Art, offering a wide variety of award-winning art and design courses. Swansea Business Campus offers students the chance to experience innovative, student-led approaches to learning, delivered by professionals and academics with experience in industry.

The only Welsh language television channel in the world, S4C, has relocated its headquarters to our campus. The public service broadcaster’s new home, the award-winning Canolfan S4C Yr Egin, is a creative industries hub for the region that brings potential for work experience and job opportunities as well as a programme of events.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Cynefin, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, is just a 20-minute walk away. The Wales Coast Path runs through this magnificent green site that includes a mountain bike skills area, pump track, bushcraft area, campsite and Forest School. There is also direct access for the River Towy. It is home to a huge wildlife area and, with support from the Woodland Trust, nearly 1,000 trees have

been planted on the site.

ARTS & CULTURE

Plays, musical performances, film screenings, talks and exhibitions are among the entertainment and cultural

opportunities on campus.

LAMPETER

CELEBRATE OUR FIRST 200 YEARS WITH US!

I chose to study at UWTSD because of the wide range of facilities available, the studio space in the Surface Pattern Design department for each student, and the amount of contact tutor time students received every week.

ACCOMMODATION We have a range of different types of accommodation, all offering a safe and secure but independent ‘home away from home’ while you study. Living in residential halls puts you at the heart of student life, and students in our accommodation benefit from a wide variety of on-campus services. There are also plenty of options to find private rented accommodation if you prefer, either in privately-run student halls or in private rented accommodation. If you are planning to live away from home whilst at University, accommodation is probably top of your list of concerns. All three of our main campuses have on-site ‘halls’ or student accommodation, with many of these rooms prioritised for first-year students. 34 | University of Wales Trinity Saint David
