The Kilted Mermaid is a fun casual spot that features fondue and small plate dishes paired with great beverage choices. Choose from an array of craft beers bottled and on draft, a varied selection wines (served in decent glasses) and even delicious French press coffee. Yes all the stuff we love! So what can we say, The Kilted Mermaid has it going on. It is hard to put “The Mermaid in a particular genre as it could be considered a cool bar with light fare or a small fondue cafe with lounge hours but one thing is certain, it offers a cool vibe that is hard to resist. Currently the entertainment includes: Rock, Paper, Scissors tournaments on Tuesday nights, Open Mike night on Wednesdays, Trivia on Thursday, and live music on Friday and Saturdays. If you were one of more than 500 visitors to last year’s Trick-or-Treat at McKee BOOtanical Garden, you’ve already experienced the fun of a garden packed with creative scarecrows. This year, the display has expanded to two weeks - from Oct. 15 through Oct. 31 - and promises to be even bigger, better and zanier. Here’s your chance to join in!

Inventory continues to decline as the number of units sold continues to grow. In August of 2009 Indian River County had 4200 homes for sale, in August of 2010 we had 3700 homes for sale and in August of 2011 we had only 2500 homes for sale. This is a 30% decrease from the previous year and a 40% decline since 2009.

In the Tradition of Wyeth: Contemporary Watercolor Masters October 1, 2011 - January 15, 2012 Supporting Sponsor: Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Henderson Patron Sponsors: Laura and Bill Frick, and Marie C. Stiefel Our fall exhibition in the Holmes Gallery will be built around the Museum’s newly acquired painting by Andrew Wyeth, The Wales Farm. While the exhibition also features four other Wyeth paintings, the majority of the watercolors in the show will be the work of living artists including Stephen Scott Young, Ray Ellis, Dean Mitchell, William Matthews, Kathy Caudill, Alan Shuptrine, Hubert Shuptrine, Duncan Simmons, Leslie Frontz, and Thomas Owen. While these masters of watercolor are great technicians, they embrace Andrew Wyeth’s sentiment that “to be interested solely in technique would be a very superficial thing . . . .” Without exception, they express great feeling in their work, while exploring the profound relationships between human beings and the world of the senses through their chosen medium. No artist in the history of American art had more influence on the appreciation of watercolor than Andrew Wyeth. His ability to work with watercolor in a variety of ways, from “drybrush” to layered washes, and his flair for subtly dramatic composition gained new respect for watercolor as a serious medium. Every professional watercolorist working today owes Wyeth a debt, whether they were directly inspired by his masterworks or more generally by his larger-than-life presence in the art world.

I need listings to sell. As stated in the beginning of this newsletter, I have sold over 12 properties this year and have 5 listings under contract. In today’s market I have been able to succeed in selling my clients homes by utilizing all the technology that is available to me though Dale Sorensen Real Estate as well as the marketing tools I use. Some of those are free tools and some I have invested substantial funds in, but more importantly they are tools that help sell properties. As this year nears an end and next “Season is right around the corner it is very important that I build up my stable of listings. If you are thinking of selling or know someone who is, please let them know that I am here to help guide them through the sales process. You already know my commitment to my clients and you also know that I am a full time Realtor dedicating all of my time to selling properties. I appreciate your support. Sincerely, Tripp Hernandez Dale Sorensen Real Estate Certified Residential Specialist Accredited Buyers Representative 772-539-1980
