Chayil Champion is the author of novels such as “Affiliated” “Going Pro” and Majesties of Canaan” His newest series which features a group of Special Op soldiers who become superheroes through the properties of Oramite, which fuses with the cells. Champion said he wanted to take characters that were already brave and courageous. His novel is a Judeo/Christian novel but he says it isn’t overly religious. The second novel in the series Majesties of Canaan: Secret of the Oramite, goes more into depth about the history behind the strange liquid that glows purple. Champion’s goal is to publish the rest of the novels 1 year apart from each other. Currently he has enough back story and ideas for 10 novels.
In 2014 champion was was speaking with Braxton Cosby: President of Cosby Media Publishing about writing a superhero novel. Cosby also was planning a superhero novel and Keshawn Dodds had already written one. Cosby suggested combining the worlds and creating a multiverse of heroes. The three men set out to sculpt and write the individual worlds of their heroes that would soon meet on the page in the first novel of their series Infinity 7 The planned publishing date is sometime in 2018. Champion is also working on his next “Lost Souls” book called Unsheathed which is the first in the series to feature a female protagonist. The story centers around a young woman who is a stripper that gets swept up in human trafficking.
The novel involved a lot of research, one of the ways he researched the life of a stripper was by speaking with a friend who is a former stripper she is now a minister. He sat down with her and asked her questions about being a former stripper. Champion is currently writing in two separate genres while still trying to find an audience. All though he is mainly going to focus on the Majesties of Canaan series he does have more novels planned for the Lost souls series. He also has advice for young writers. “It's a process, there are moments of doubt” Champion says that he is a man of prayer and prays a lot. He also says “ Keep busy, keep creating, love your craft!”
Anne Carmichael Anne Carmichael was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky , and continues to live nearby. She began writing in 2000 as a hobby and professionally in 2013, with the release of the Magoo Who Series of four books. Anne has also written two seasonal books (available year-round)....'Darby at the Derby' has been extremely popular during the Kentucky Derby each May since its release. 'Polar Opposites', has become an international favorite for children during the holiday season. Her first full-length adult mystery novel, 'Elderhaus' was released in December 2016. It was recently
Highlighted during the. annual Mystery Thriller Week Event and was awarded the 2017 Best New Indie Mystery Novel .
Anne Carmichael, has written 7 novels, her first novel to be published was “Magoo who?: Life through my eyes” Named after the beloved Mr Magoo character, Magoo is a cat that was blind and living on the streets of Philadelphia. Carmichael saw Magoos amazing story of survival on Facebook and felt compelled to write about him, she contacted the owners of Magoo: who were looking for someone to write about his story. She then finished the novel and signed a contract with an australian publisher. Her next three novels followed members of Magoo family. The next novel “May I be Frank” Follows Magoo’s brother Frank who struggles to adapt to being a house cat. All four of the books took a year to write. The stress of writing and publishing four novels plus working a full time job took its toll on her, so her publisher suggested she submit her two novels she
Previously written. “Darby at the Derby” and “Polar Opposites” They were published 6 months apart giving her plenty of time to research and write her next novel Adult Mystery “Eler Haus” which follows a young german woman who has spent most of her life searching all over europe for her father. She eventually decides to settle down and remodel a house that she has recently bought, but the house holds many secrets. The novel was originally going to be about older dogs but somewhere along the way it became an adult mystery but no fear for animal lovers she does involve dogs into the story.
Currently Miss Carmichael is working on two novels one being a memoir of her life. The second is a suspense novel. She has self published the last few books but she is still looking for a traditional publisher. She also has advice for young writers. Her advice is to “Follow your Dreams
Gail Pate How long have you been writing? I have been writing since I was a teenager...mostly poetry, a few short stories...The Light is my first novel. What inspired you to start writing? I've always loved the power of words and the impact putting them together into a poem or a writing can have on the reader, it's very inspiring. Tell me about your novel “The Light”"The Light" is a Teen/YA sci-fi (with a hint of romance) that takes the reader alongside the main character as she uncovers a mystery that will plunge her into the realm of star travel. Where the impossible
becomes reality, and fate will help her discovers her purpose and sense of belonging. What inspired you to write it? I wanted to write something for my niece, Aubrey. She is my Luvy… How have readers reacted to it? Readers of all ages have loved and enjoyed reading it...they find themselves becoming part of the mystery and anxious to see what happens next.
Was it self published? if not who is the publisher? Page Publishing out of NY published it....they are a publishing house that I would say is... somewhere between self-publishing
and a big publishing house.
What other projects are you working on? am eight chapters into the sequel of The Light....titled "Halo". Hopeful that it will be out summer of 2018... I was also excited to have been involved in a documentary that was being filmed at the Madison Juvenile Correction Center in Madison Indiana this past spring. It is projected to air in 2018 and will have a segment which will include my interaction with the girls, where we donated and signed copies of my book and had the opportunity to share a portion of my life's story, of being a child of alcoholic parents...how a few chapters of your life does not have to determine the outcome...and as in life...you can't let a few mistakes, define your story.
Just as editing errors in a book, does not affect the story you find within the pages..Life is filled with mistakes, strive for a great ending..
Do you have any advice for new writers? "Keep Looking to the Stars and Never Give Up On Your Dreams"...
