Amber Polk Amber R. Polk was born and raised in a small town in Eastern Oklahoma. Since then, she moved to Colorado, back to Oklahoma, and now resides in Western Arkansas. Although her husband disagrees, she will always consider herself an Okie and proud of it. She is a great cook (don't fact check with her
children) and loves spending her time getting kicked off go-cart tracks for aggressive driving. If you have any questions or comments you can find her on Facebook (she's always there).

Amber Polk has been writing since childhood. Her first”book”was co-written with a friend during the third grade. “ It wasn’t until high school that I realized I could be a writer; in college, I realized I had always been one.” Polk’s “Survival Series”features a young woman in a post-apocalyptic setting, “My youngest son has an auto-immune disease called Addison’s Disease. He is life dependent on the medication he has to take multiple times per day for the rest of his life. One day his father and I were discussing a disaster plan for his medication if there were ever a natural disaster or shut down in the system. From there,
I thought about what I wouldn’t do to get my son his medication and then came the story.” Three books in the “Survival Series.” Polk’s journey to publishing was a long one. “For a long time I was scared to let anyone read my books. Being a writer is all I have ever wanted to be and I was terrified I would be told to give up or I wasn’t good at it. When I had children I didn’t want them to be afraid of their dreams. I wanted them to work hard and make their dreams happen and how could I teach them if I hadn’t believed in myself? I worked hard and eventually found my way.”
Fifteen years ago Polk was offered a contract with a publishing house.” Fifteen years ago I was offered a contract from a publishing house, but wasn’t comfortable with the terms in the contract and decided it wasn’t the right time. From fifteen years ago to now I had to work full-time and write on nights and weekends while still taking care of my family. It hasn’t been easy. “ Almost two years ago Polk discovered the world of Self-publishing.” I love being in control of my content, covers, media, and which direction I want to go with my writing. Now, that being said, self-publishing is also hard. I am responsible for everything
that comes along with being a publishing house from the comfort of my home desktop.” Polk’s advice for new young writers is to simply write.”Write daily. Eventually it becomes a habit and your words will increase over time. Dream big. Use your love of writing to create the world as you see it. Take writing classes, find a critique partner, and most of all, write.” Polk is currently working on the last novel in the “Survival Series” as well as the second book in her “Dynamic Divas Series” and a standalone that she is hoping to have out in April
Anne Conley Anne Conley lives in a small town in East Texas, not unlike Serendipity, with her husband, two kids and numerous goats. She brazenly stole her pseudonym from her great-grandmother, a true pioneer woman who raised seven kids alone: churning butter, plucking chickens, knitting clothes, and putting coal oil on every visible wound. She also peed standing up, probably because she didn’t have time to go to the outhouse. Anne loves hearing from her readers, so contact her to let her know what you think.

Anne Conley has been writing throughout her life, but only 5 years for public consumption.
She currently has five novels written and has four more in the works.
“I used to journal a lot, but only decided to write fiction recently, although I did win a short story contest in the sixth grade.”
“ I wanted to write something different from my previous stories, which were pnr, and small-town contemporary romance. I wanted something a bit sexier, edgier, a little bit darker. And I liked the idea of a group of men who started a securities firm, so I went with it.” Her first series “Serendipity” was inspired a lot by her own life in a small town.
Conley’s husband inspired her to start writing. “I read so much, and I was at home with the kids when they were young, and he told me to do something for myself. I always had my head in a book, and he’s the one who encouraged me to try writing something for myself.” Conley came up with the “Pierce Securities Series” because she wanted something different from the other novels she had written.
“Serendipity, TX is a place where real people with real problems find love. They aren’t all in their twenties (in fact, most aren’t) and some have some real issues to deal with while they find love.” Conley says for the most part the series is done but she may revisit for a Christmas novel. Conley says that she herself is not a particularly romantic person but the romance genre spoke to her. Prior to publishing she wrote a little bit of everything.
Her advice for young writers is “Read as much as you can about the industry, but take everything with a grain of salt. Be as prepared as possible, if you plan to publish. But don’t get involved in DRAMA.”
