Hollywood Comes to Spirit of Flight Center 2012 2012 TO FEATURE AVIATION IN HOLLYWOOD AT THE MUSEUM
Erie, Colorado, Thursday, December 29, 2011: A BD-5 Micro aircraft has joined the Spirit of Flight Center air museum collection. The BD-5 Micro is a single-seat homebuilt aircraft created in the late 1960’s by US aircraft designer Jim Bede and was introduced to the aviation market primarily in “kit” for by the now-defunct Bede Aircraft Corporation in the early 1970s. In total, only a few hundred BD-5 kits were ever completed, and many of them still fly today. The BD-5J (J stands for jet powered) holds the record for being the world’s lightest jet aircraft, weighing only 358.8 lbs. “I have had a copy of a 1972 issue of Air Progress magazine in my office for years, only because it had an article introducing the BD-5, which I still think it is an amazing plane” said Gordon Page, President of the Spirit of Flight Center. “We have always wanted to have one in the collection, and now we have one thanks to a generous donor”.

In the movie, stunt pilot “Corkey” Fornoff flew an amazing sequence in the tiny jet to outrun a heat-seeking missile that included a flight through a hangar.

The museum is also expanding its educational and living history days in 2012 and is working on a new teaching curriculum with several local schools. One of the major additions to the Spirit of Flight Center for the New Year is a mobile air museum that can go to schools, retirement homes and other facilities that may not have the budget to take visitors to the main museum facility.

PROJECT Take Flight is the Spirit of Flight Centers program to restore aircraft and artifacts, but it also helps out with service projects within the community. Small Business Budgeting Made Easy! By Michelle Edwards, CPA It’s the start of a new year and one of you goals is to better manage your expenses and increase your bottom line. One trick to helping you achieve this goal is by creating a budget. A budget is a tool that allows you to design how you would like your monthly and year-end financial goals to look. To do this, you need to look at the income you think your business can generate throughout the year compared to the expenses your business will incur. Creating a Budget When creating a budget I recommend making 3 different scenarios - worst case scenario, most likely case scenario, and best case scenario. It make you think about how your business will operate under various circumstances. It’s detrimental to your business if you budget for your best case scenario and then actually have your worst year. If you’re heading down the worst year path, you’ve already come up with a plan as to areas you can cut costs, which will allow you to make the necessary adjustments sooner than later. Your best case scenario also lets you think about growth and expansion options in the situation your business does take off. You can start planning for a marketing campaign that you’ve been dreaming of, think about saving for future downfalls, budget for increasing your staff, etc. By having 3 26
different scenarios, you can easily make adjustments thought out the year, based on how your business is actually doing. Keep in mind, your budget is not set in stone. It’s a working budget and should be updated throughout the year to reflect how your business is currently operating. Where Do The Numbers Come From? If you’ve been in business before, use previous years financial statements to help create your budget. Look for patterns and trends in sales & expenses. Does your business grow by 3% every year, do certain expenses increase by 10% every year, etc? Use those past trends to help you estimate what this year will look like. If this is your first year is business, no worries, you can do research on your industry to see what your competition is doing and use their numbers to give you a starting point for your own budget. Start with Expenses Personally, I like to start with the expenses. Take all off the expenses you expect to have during the year and list them out in a monthly fashion. Some months might have higher expenses, some months have fewer expenses, and some expense remain the same every month. Then Move to Projected Sales and Revenue Once you list out all of your expenses, then you can start budgeting for your sales and revenue. List out all sources of revenue and what you expect to sell through out the year. If your business fluctuates during
certain times of the year, budget accordingly. Projected Profit/Loss After projecting and estimating your sales and expenses for the year, you are ready to determine your projected profit/loss for each month. Subtract your projected expenses from your projected sales to determine your projected net income (profit/loss) for each month and for the year. Finished! Simple enough, you’ve just created a profit and loss budget! At the end is a sample to get you started. Keep in mind it’s just a sample and your business will most likely have more details and more expense line items than listed below. It’s just a tool to get you started. You can create a budget on paper, in Excel, or even in QuickBooks. Using Your Budget As the year progresses, don’t forget to compare your actual Profit and Loss Statement against your monthly budget. What scenario is your business operating at - worst, most likely, or best? Are there areas where you can improve? Do you need to make operating changes based on your budget numbers? Are there changes that need to be made to your budget to reflect your current operating state? Keep in mind your budget is not set in stone. It can and should be adjusted though out the year to reflect what’s currently happening in your business.

Dea r e t n i W veryone loves to eat out once in a while, but the cost of dinner out for a family can add up quickly. A typical kids’ meal costs from $5.00 to $7.00, which makes eating at home a more likely option. Smart restaurant owners know that adding a Kids Eat Free night to the regular schedule is a great way to bring families in. Several local Erie restaurants have joined the Kids Eat Free trend.

The Lazy Dog, located in Vista Ridge’s own Vista Village, recently began offering a Kids Eat Free night every Monday. Their menu includes typical children’s favorites such as macaroni and cheese, cheeseburgers, and chicken strips. They can choose from sides such as mandarin oranges, mashed potatoes, or fries. A child’s drink is included. You can get up to two kids meals for every one adult entrée.

Happy hour and appetizer items are excluded. The Masters Restaurant at the Colorado National Golf Course offers a Kids Eat Free buffet every Wednesday night. Face painting, sundaes, and seasonal crafts often accompany the buffet. Winter... 21 inches of snow on the Barbie by Chef Trusan This picture explains the gist of my Winter Article: “21 inches of snow on the Barbie”! While the BBQ might be closed for the season, there are still plenty of thing that can bring family and friends together. The Solstice is upon us and Winter is officially here! It’s cold, the roads are snowy, icy and slippery, which makes it a perfect time to stay home, crank up the oven and the wood stove and make some comfort food. Eating seasonally in the winter consists mainly of these top five veggies:
Squash Root Veggies Beets Brussels Sprouts Kale AND: For all you carnivores, I’ve included something for you as well. I wanted to deviate from writing the same ole’ things that everyone else writes about and keep it interesting and adventuresome. I’ve included some traditional winter favorites as well as a few with a slant to them.
Homemade Meatloaf by Trusan Serves 6 Ingredients: 1 1/2 3 1 1 1/4 1/4 1/4 1-1/2 2 1/2 1/2 1/2 2 4
Lbs Large 15 oz can Med-Lg Cup Cup Cup Cup tsp. tsp. Cup Cup + teas. Slices
Lean (80/20)ground beef (or buffalo, etc.) Eggs (beaten) Stewed Tomatoes (chopped and drained) Onion (minced) Chopped celery (about 1 Lg. stalk) Chopped carrots (or grated) Chopped green bell pepper Bread crumbs, panko or rolled oats Kosher or Sea Salt Ground black pepper Finely chopped Italian Flat Leaf Parsley Ketchup (Plus some for the top) Worcestershire Sauce Bacon
Procedure: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put all ingredients except bacon in a large mixing bowl and mix thoroughly but not over mixed. Put the meat mixture in a loaf pan and pat it to fill the pan evenly. Lay the strips of uncooked bacon over the top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends under. Put remaining ketchup on top of meatloaf and place the loaf pan on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. Place a pan of hot water in the oven with the meatloaf and this will keep the ketchup from drying and cracking. Internal temperature should be 160 degrees F. when done.

Panko (Japanese bread crumbs) Salt and Pepper Mixture Italian Parsley (Chopped) Butter Manchego Cheese (or parmesan) Grated
Procedure: Pre-heat oven to 400 f. In a large pot with boiling salted water, cook the pasta till al-dente’ (about 11 min.) then strain in a colander and cool by running under cold water. Let drain. Melt butter in a saucepan, add onion and let sauté for several minutes. Stirring occasionally so the onions don’t burn. Add flour and cook till the flour just starts to get some color. Add milk and let simmer until it starts to thicken. While milk sauce is thickening, grill or pan sear the beef for about 3-min. on each side then remove and let rest. Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water for 2 – 3 min., strain and reserve. In a skillet, belt butter. When butter becomes hot and frothy, add the panko, salt and pepper, and parsley. Stir until the panko absorbs the butter and just starts to get some color. Remove from pan and hold. By now the milk is starting to thicken. Add the cheeses and mix with a stiff whisk until all the cheese is melted. Keep under low heat stirring occasionally so a film doesn’t form.

Wood-stove Beef Stew by Trusan
Wood-stove cooking is like camping inside the comfort of your own home. It’s not only an adventure, it’s useful in case of an emergency if the power goes out. Granted, not everyone has a wood stove, but if you’re fortunate enough to have one, you can have a blast cooking as well as keeping warm this winter.
Serves 4 - 6 Ingredients: 1 1 2 1 1 1 1 1 2–4 4 4 1 3 2 1

Cubed Beef Red Onion (Cut into bite sized pieces) Scallions Potato (1/2” cubes) Zucchini (Cut into bite sized pieces) Yellow Squash (Cut into bite sized pieces) Carrot (Cut into bite sized pieces) Jalapeño (sliced into small wheels) TBS Chopped Cilantro (according to your taste) Cloves Garlic (Chopped) TBS Lime Juice tsp. Red Pepper Flakes pinches Salt and Pepper TBS Olive Oil Cup Beef Stock
Procedure: Light the wood stove using plenty starting material (isn’t that why they publish the National Enquirer?), kindling and hardwood for fuel. This will ensure that the fire lights properly and maintains a nice hot fire without having to open the door and keep adding more logs. After the logs burn down some, are glowing and have some white ash on them, brush them aside as much as you can to rest the container of stew on the floor of the stove. I put an oven thermometer in at this point and my stove registered 425f, a good temperature for this dish. Meanwhile as the stove is heating up, mix the above ingredients in a bowl and place in a container (a metal bread loaf pan works great!) double lined with foil. Fold the foil over making sure you have a good tight seal. Place container on the space that you just made for it inside the wood-stove and close the door. Cook for 50 – 60 min. turning the container once every 10 min. to ensure even cooking. IF there are any leftovers, this is great to heat up the next morning with eggs, toast and coffee.

The basics are the same for all three:
Serves 4 Ingredients: Root veggie of your choice (Roasted Potatoes, Onions and Garlic, etc.) Olive Oil Salt and Pepper Aluminum foil
Procedure: Slather the veggie of your choice with olive oil and liberally sprinkle with Salt and Pepper. Wrap in at least three layers of aluminum foil (shinny side towards the veggies). Same as above: Light the wood stove using plenty starting, kindling and hardwood for fuel. Slather the veggie of your choice with olive oil and sprinkle liberally with Salt and Pepper. Wrap in at least three layers of aluminum foil (shinny side towards the veggies). After the logs burn down some, are glowing and have some white ash on them, brush them aside as much as you can to rest the foil wrapped veggies on the floor of the stove. Cooking times will vary, this is just a guideline: Garlic

BOOK NOOK winter edition
by Kristina Leonard With 2011 now a memory, I took a look at my Goodreads commentary to see what books I most enjoyed reading last year and what largely wasted my time. Without further ado, here is a highly subjective list of my most and least favorites from the past year and what I look forward to reading in 2012.
Five books I loved reading in 2011 1. Amor Towles’ Rules of Civility. Towles’ debut novel is both a love story and a love letter to New York City pre and post-WWII. Can’t wait to read his next book. 2. Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus. Marco and Celia are competitors in a mysterious magic match to the death when they fall in love in this dreamy, non-linear tale. Their love story drives the novel, but supporting characters---circus regulars, a boy enthralled with the night circus from his first visit on and a group of circus followers who manage to track the night circus all over the world make for one exciting saga. 3. Jim DeFede’s The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland. This non-fiction account of a small, but resourceful airport and city in Canada recounts the scary time post-September 11th when 38 airplanes and over 6000 travelers were forced to change plans, landing in Gander, Newfoundland. What follows is a story of one community opening their hearts and homes to the displaced. 4. Rob Lowe’s Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography. Loved his well-written account of his career, ambitions and encounters from the late 70s until present. Plus, the pictures! A must-read for children of the 1980s.

5. Paula McLain’s The Paris Wife. A “lost generation” tale which (fictionally) recounts the first marriage of Ernest Hemingway to Hadley Richardson. McLain poured through letters and accounts to find the right tone in portraying the charming but troubled Hemmingway. Warning—Reading this book will make you read A Moveable Feast, Hemingway’s non-fiction account of the same time frame. One book I should have passed on reading in 2011. Alma Katsu’s The Taker. The book’s description sounded similar to a supernatural adventure/love story to rival early Anne Rice efforts. Now, I wish I’d just re-read anything by Rice instead. Two books I look forward to reading in 2012. Haruki Murakami’s IQ84. vLife contributor Sherri Barksdale highly recommended this book. If only I can get motivated to tackle such a big novel now! Tom Wolfe’s Back to Blood. He isn’t a one book a year novelist, but his books from the non-fiction Right Stuff to highly satiric Bonfire of the Vanities never disappoint this reader. One book I can’t wait to see adapted for the big screen. Trisha Ventker’s Internet Dates from Hell. Our vLife publisher sold the rights to her story to Hollywood producer Paula Wagner in 2011 and I can’t wait to see her life story filmed.

nesting with style collections: by sondra parker As an interior designer, one thing people often ask me about is how to accessorize. A quick and inexpensive way is to do it with collections. Many people have collections and don't think of using them to decorate. The first rule of thumb is to display your collections together or in grouping. Secondly use collections you already have and never thought of as art as accessories. And third, if starting a collection, find something you love to see in your home. Collections don't have to be something you've accumulated over a lifetime. You can get inspired by something and start collecting today. Within 40 miles of our neighborhood there are over 100 flea markets, thrift stores and resale shops. These are a great place to look for inexpensive accessories for your home. ( The display of mid century candy dishes and vases shown in the photo started with the purchase of a $. 50 vase). When my daughter was two we started collecting rocks when we traveled. I kept a black permanent marker in my purse and we would label the rock with the date 44
and location we found it. Upon returning home we would add the rocks to a bowl. The bowl filled over the years and was a beautiful addition to our coffee table. This fun collection was a great conversation piece in our home. And it showed my children that souvenirs do not have to cost money. Last summer while traveling we started collecting driftwood. It became an adventure on our hikes on the beach or picnic lunches to find the coolest piece of driftwood. We now have them displayed in our home. As I look around my home my collections, whether they are something I purchased or found, make me smile. Each item has a memory, a story. And they add an interest to my decor that is unique to my personality, my home and my family. Get inspired to collect something that makes you smile when you see it in your home. The next time you pass a yard sale or thrift store, stop in and when you see something that stopped you in your tracks maybe it's the start of your collection.

Cabin Fever Gaming - Stuck inside? Make it a fun game day. Pull out the Board Games and have a family gaming session. There are so many educational games that can keep everyone thinking while having fun. Gather up empty plastic bottles or empty soda cans and set up an indoor bowling alley. Build an indoor fort with the kitchen table chairs, tables and some sheets or blankets. Bring in some flashlights and tell stories or read some books.
Experiments with Snow – Discover what fun snow can be! Take a piece of black construction paper and capture some snowflakes on it. Look at them with a Magnifying glass, can you find two that look alike? Try creating a frozen bubble. Using soap bubbles, you will turn them into frozen bubbles. Here is what you need to make them… What You'll Need: Measuring cup Soap powder Sugar Hot water Bowl Spoon or whisk Bubble wand This is an activity for a cold, cold (below freezing) day when there is no wind in the air. Start by making a strong bubble solution. Mix 1/2 cup soap powder, 1/2 cup sugar, and 3 cups hot water. (This mixture will help the bubbles last longer.) Take the bubble solution and a bubble wand outside. Blow a bubble, and catch it on the wand. Let the bubble sit resting on the wand in the cold air. Where I grew up there were no snowflakes. Yet every holiday season in California felt perfect. Surrounded by family we spent Christmas walking beaches and sharing traditions which were the hallmark of this special time of year. It never occurred to me that any of this would end; after all, we had so many relatives, so many houses to visit, so many great things to eat and magical presents to unwrap. It was like a beautiful song on continuous loop. Then the music stopped. We moved to Colorado five years ago, and in that time all of the parents and grandparents have passed away. It is a difficult landscape of loss, but we have made our adjustments. In place of our yule tide of yesteryear, and to ease our longing for events and people now gone, my children and I have embraced this place where we find ourselves, creating new traditions of our own. On the first weekend in December we host a Scandinavian party for our community and friends. We decorate as if our lives depended on it, including special ornaments honoring loved ones past, as well as newer, festive arrangements befitting a family of the Rockies. Glogg is served, herring, meatballs and Aquavit are inhaled, and by the end of the evening everyone is speaking Swedish. When Hanukkah comes, we light our menorah in tribute to my children始s heritage; if it snows, we build silly snow-people in the yard. The second week is for baking and taking cookies and fudge around to those who have meant so much to us over the year. This is also the week we sing carols and do laundry and pack suitcases. On the third week, my children fly to California to spend Christmas with their father, and they do not return until school starts again. I have not hung a stocking for my children in over five years. I have not seen their faces on Christmas morning in a very long time. My house is a winter wonderland, and still it is empty. If you were to ask me what a perfect Christmas would be like, this would not be it. And yet, over the course of time I have come to accept something significant in all of this--a remarkable humility and gratitude for those things borne out of death, divorce, tragedy and loss. It is the pearl inside the broken shell. It is the peace I make with myself when the world is no longer 驶perfect始--because it is different. 54
Once I distinguish myself from the wrappings of my shiny youth--and all the innocence and joy those moments entailed--I find the gift of these holiday times, no matter how brief, with my children, out here on the prairie. With the blizzards and the mountains and these relative strangers who are now our dearest friends. And we can hold these seasons of our days as our seasons, for we have made them. We have made a life for ourselves out here and it is better than Christmas. We are better... for the difference. Before we came here, my children had never seen snow falling from the sky, or watched a line of geese as they made their way south. In place of an ocean we have come to know a beauty in the wonder of aspen and the changing light that cannot be measured by anything that has come before. It simply is. When the hour arrived to leave for the airport, my children were a little sad and the sky had started to snow. $

In this world of technology, we use computers more now then we ever have. Logging in hours behind the computer can cause the head and shoulders to drop forward. This is known as forward head posture aka FHP. This FHP creates tension and strain to the nerves, spinal cord and vertebrae. This can cause symptoms like neck pain, arm pain, headaches, dizziness etc. For every inch the neck and head moves forward, it adds at least 10 pounds of tension to the spine. Left uncorrected it can lead to spinal decay and arthritis. This condition is not exclusive to computer users. People that text or are on the phone long periods suffer with this as well. Children are also affected. FHP in children can be cause by texting, heavy book bags,and playing video games. To see if you have FHP, you need to be checked by a Chiropractor. F I TN ES S 5 Effective Fitness Tips for 2012 by Tristan Lewis Well 2012 is nearly with us. I know that with the holidays here we’re all slammed right now getting ready to celebrate with our friends and family – good for us! But of course, following on nicely after this EVERY year is the stepping into a new year and a desire to make it the best yet for ourselves… The resolutions are set and typically these include getting in the best shape ever. Well its a new start and therefore I wanted to give you my 5 Big Tips for your 2012 covering Exercise/Workout Tips, Health Tips, Diet & nutrition Tips & Mindset Tips. So lets kick off with part A – Exercise! Ok, there are a million different tips flying around the Internet, the gym, Facebook, your local health club and so on… But here are 5 I feel are essential and will give you the best results if understood and used in your workouts. TIP 1 – Its been said a thousand times (by me and others I know) but to burn the most calories you must do COMPOUND exercises. These are exercises that require multiple muscles to work together during the move. don’t get me wrong, isolation exercises where typically one muscle is worked like the bicep curl for example a re great as part of your workout but compound exercises like kettlebell swings, Thrusters, Deadlifts, Squats, Pull Ups etc etc are the ones that will have the greatest benefit on your body and fitness results. TIP 2 – Slow down! A typical exercise should be performed with control – allowing you to work on a pattern of 2-1-3 (basically 2 seconds concentric – 1 second isometric – 3 seconds essentric) – or to put it simply lets imagine a squat move; I like to squat down to the lowest position for 3 seconds, hold at the bottom for a second then explode up but control my move to the start position for 2-3 seconds. This is controlled. If your going really fast or swinging weights then you risk injury and you cannot truly handle the weight your lifting. this applies to men and women. In fact all of these tips will. TIP 3 – Lift what you can handle! – many times the ego gets the better of people. They lift more than they should and do more than they should also. Make sure you pick weights that make you work but don’t have you wobbling all over the gym trying to simply hold them! Once you can cope with a weight, your muscles are used to it, and your comfortable, then move up. You’ll surpass all the people who are choosing weights for vanity and as they get injured youll be lifting and working with the weights they first struggled with… TIP 4 – Variety. Its essential that you choose different exercises in your program (or get me or your trainer to devise workouts

that mix up exercises to stimulate muscles correctly) – thus helping you break through plateaus. Your body is designed to adapt to stimuli over time, if you mix up your exercises your body will keep being forced to really work and your results will be the type you really want. maintenance of your lean muscle especially during fat loss training or dieting when you desperately need to keep the lean muscle and not let it get broken down. Increase your protein levels with both a good supplement and lean meats, dairy protein and vegetable sources of protein and you’ll allow your muscles to remain protected as your metabolism controls fat loss. TIP 5 – Whats right for one person is not always right for you. I see a lot of people go to gyms or start workouts and they tend to see a person doing something and simply copy. I understand if no one is around to give advice or you are new to working out that this is tempting. But understand you are capable of doing all the exercises that are out there, but that does not mean you should. Get a good trainer or one of my products or workouts at my video classroom and choose a goal, choose a path for yourself and train for YOU – you’ll follow certain exercises and systems that will take you to your goal and get results, another person will follow their own goal. You must have a plan of attack and a goal when you train or all the exercises in the world will mean nothing and be a waste if there is not a plan of attack when choosing and using exercises specifically for YOU and YOUR GOALS. PART 2 Welcome to part 2 – and the 5 health tips for 2012. These 5 will help you look at health differently and are going to be huge benefits in your new start to the new year. Tip 1 – Water consumption MUST go up, up up! Ok you’ve likely heard the old adage about around 8 X 8oz glasses of water a day? Well I think that is minimum, especially if you are working out intensely. Your body needs water more than anything else you can put in your mouth! But so many times people don’t bother. They work out, sweat and then maybe sip a sports drink or even worse a soda or fizzy drink etc. Simply put you need to constantly hydrate. Try setting a timer as you work and every 15 mins have a sip from a big bottle of water next to you. Try to also finish the water they give you at a restaurant. it not just there for looks
F I TN ES S Tip 2 – The old classic…Sleep. You need to sleep and its gets even more important as you get older. At least 8 hours a night will do you the most good, maybe 7. Your body repairs and recovers in sleep so make sure you give your body a chance. Also try to limit any light sources. Bright led alarm clocks or night lights can actually affect the quality of your sleep. You should try to sleep in as near to pitch black as possible.

I have kids, work, a job, a list of chores a mile long….blah blah. I’ve seen and know some of the busiest people who also live a life that seems like the most laid back and relaxed. And it all comes down to prioritising and actually telling yourself you NEED to relax and find time for yourself or your health WILL suffer. Get out on dates, go do outdoors things …just do things for yourself
and don’t feel guilty. You need to understand the value of relaxation for both your sanity and your healthy fit body and mind. Tip 5 – Don’t overtrain. For an average person – if they train with the correct intensity – they can train 3-4 times a week, for around 30 minutes a time and get incredible results (with a sensible diet and also regular hydration and the right type of workouts/training) – of course you can do more if thats your thing, but I can’t hear anymore about people having no time. You make time and you find time and you commit. Its not the hardest thing in the world. At least your alive to try. So put it in properly for 3- 4 intense workouts a week and let your body rest in between. Overtraining will affect many things from your body fat levels to your mental well being. Denver’s Trendiest Fashionista, With a Bit of Erie! Intro The rise of fashion is growing more and more in Colorado each day. I keep getting event requests on Facebook.com for fashion shows and fashion benefits all around the Colorado area. It’s exciting to finally see fashion being forced into Colorado. Old trends are coming back into style, and most importantly, they keep arriving on Colorado doors!
My Style Today! It’s quit exciting to see some old trends come back into style. For example, the 60s look is very “in” right now. I’ve found myself shopping online looking for the perfect vintage look for the New Year. I’ve discovered the most amazing sunglasses that really explain my style on a whole new level. I call them, “my circles.” These 60s styled sunglasses inspire me to wear vintage entire when stepping foot outside. I can’t help
it! I love vintage looks, and sometimes, my friends make fun of me because I pick out “older looking clothes.”

Random Expression The question is, does fashion really ever die? I would have to say, no. It doesn’t matter what era we’re in, looks and styles always come back, even if they only last a few months. Many people find it hard to believe that fashion is also an art. One can interpret it differently, but at the end of the day, it’s still art. Like art, fashion has its ups and downs. We sometimes find ourselves amused by what people wear, and other times we are simply disgusted by the trends we see. For instants, I find it dreadful when I see 12 year old girls wearing long hats that have animal heads on them. I think it’s very tacky and it takes away attention from your outfit and your face. Although I’ve seen some fierce ones online; I’m yet to see them turn more couture in years to come. Like these young girls, I get many stares when I go out for my unique style. I always go over-the-top with my ensemble of clothes.
Freedom of All Fashion In America, freedom of speech is a right. Well, I want to start Freedom of All Fashion Day. Freedom of All Fashion Day will be a day where people can absolutely wear whatever they want
without getting harassed about it. I want it to support bullying in schools and many other non-profit benefits all around the world. I truly think it’s important to let kids express themselves (even if they’re wearing animal hats), in order for them to grow. This country has so many issues with bullying that kids sometimes wear certain clothes so they won’t be teased. With kids, there doesn’t need to be an elite crowd, they’re just kids. I find it funny when parents doll up their kids, because in the end, is that really what the kid wants? Let there be a Freedom of All Fashion Day soon!

Jim and Sally are looking to sell their house in Tucson, and in the meantime, they are thinking about what house to buy in Erie, CO. They are searching Trulia.com, Realtor.com, Zillow.com, craigslist.com, and all the other hundreds of real estate websites out there today! They are moving closer to family and Sally got a great job with Blue Industries. They have great friends in Colorado, and really want to be in the same neighborhood. Then one day, Jim’s friend George emails him to tell him the local agents in the neighborhood have just posted a new listing on their FACEBOOK page. Jim clicks on the link, contacts the agent about the house and within a week, has that house under contract. Their Tucson house goes under contract in record time, because the agent they hired to sell their home was willing to learn and utilize the same social media marketing strategies as those savvy Colorado agents. The internet and social media are so prevalent in our everyday lives, it is easy to forget that as recent as 10 years ago, people still checked the newspaper, drove around to find open houses, or even picked up a monthly magazine from the local grocery store when shopping for a new house. If you were looking for a job today, you wouldn’t look in the paper would you? So why would you look in the newspaper to find a house? According to the National Association of Realtors, in 2010 99% of buyers used the internet to help them find their next house. Potential buyers now use online resources to research schools, to find out how close the nearest grocery store is, to compare neighborhood amenities and even get information about their future neighbors. Imagine you are going to move to another state, how would you go about finding your next home to buy? What dictates your first impression of your next home? She has beaten the odds in many personal goals and has followed her VPS system over the last several years. Ventker has appeared on several television shows and has been heard on a variety of radio shows throughout the country. In addition, she is a speaker for events at Universities, Forums and/or Churches.

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!! After having some early season snow that gave us a nice white Christmas and allowed for plenty of sledding (mostly on the hill at the first green), we have had warmer temperatures with only an occasional dusting. It looks like we will need to head to the mountains for more of the white stuff. That is why I have decided to provide information about Winter Snow Endurance Events and links to Colorado’s main ski areas. In the meantime, I will continue to hope for lots of snow this winter. Maybe it is because I work from home and don’t have to worry about driving in it. Although I really love to do that as well. It is the commute to work that would probably get the best of my. It’s also easy to love the snow when you have a neighbor like Steve who will clear your driveway!
