TRISH. Hello ! My full name is Trishia Christia Kurniawan. I am a fashion freelancer interested in merchandising field. I graduated from LaSalle College Jakarta, majoring in Fashion Business. I always have a great passion for fashion and travel. My dream is all about being a fashion buyer, who travels and shops at the same time. I think, it will be amazing to be able to enjoy our job and do both of favourite things as a way of living. Back in my high school, my friends and I organized some fashion show event and became the models also. It was such an unforgettable moment in which I learned how to use fabric into incredible fashion pieces, decided on what we need to successfully nail the show, and work with other people as models.

A very basic subject in my first semester related to Microsoft Office and mostly Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign. A great way of learning by using the program, resulting a range of designs related to cover magazine, magazine advertisement, and a brochure for fashion company. All projects are designed by me and later on to be printed in professional way.

TREND ANALYSIS

This subject is all about fashion to the fullest. Learning the cycle life of fashion as well as doing the fashion forecasting analysis is the main focus of the entire subject. Everything can be a source of inspiration in fashion, including music video for making a trend report. For the final project, we were pretending to do press conference for a fashion forecasting company, the press includes logo branding, press release, and fashion spread that we managed to do it from scratch. 2015 Copyright

Formation is a new division created by Ichwan Thoha, one of the upcoming rising local designers . This division works as a trend forecasting company which identify and analyze the current and upcoming trends for clients and medias. The target market or the clients we would like to achieve is started from Indonesian readyto-wear designer. For the logo philosophy, the long yarns which create capital “F” represents one unity that is strongly connected to customers. Our company will serve clients with never-ending informations of upcoming trends and we always dig informations sharply on time.

It is very important in fashion business to analyze our target market in order to understand their behavior of consuming. We were implementing the subject by doing the research on our closest relative first. We constructed a consumption biography by making a list of their favorite pieces and in the end analyze their personalities for creating the best promotion that attracts them. For the final projects, exhibitions from several countries are conducted by groups of the class. My group chose France, we set up the table dessert since France is so famous of their dessert and we wore stripes top that was inspired by navy army and Onion-Johnny. 2015 Copyright

FASHION PRESENTATION

Start off with planning fashion show event for Major Minor, from the theme, venue, models, music, rundown, opening and closing scene, runway / stage concept, makeup & hairdo, seating arrangement, and choreography. As one class, we were given a chance to manage a fashion show event for Fashion Bloom. Fashion Bloom is a special event from LaSalle College Jakarta for fashion business students to showcase their collection. I was responsible for arranging fitting schedule, choosing the models, and working with the model’ coordinator as well as models and brands’ representative.

STORE LAYOUT

From fifteen weeks, the main task of this subject is to create an effective layout for a fashion store. With a group of two, we were planning a store layout for ALDO, a Canadian retailer focused on fashion footwear and accessories at accessible prices. We started with identification and analysis from the brand itself, then decided with a brand new concept and applied it for the brand to the given space. A planning book containing on to site choice, store location for new concept, analysis of the competitors, design approach, space programming, elevations, and 3D images of the new store. We did the elevations by ourselves using Adobe Photoshop.

It is a new ALDO, minimalist with the touch of Mondrian colors The shop entrance will be using glass black-listed with their signature logo “ALDO” on the top. Our concept will be playing with the colors of “Mondrian Art”, a very famous pattern that was introduced by Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian. More of black and white, with primary colors, red, yellow and blue.

VISUAL PRESENTATION

In this subject, there were two main different projects for creating great window display for fashion store. First was promotional display, as a group of three, we chose Ipanema and were inspired from beach. That was why blue color are the main color here and things that you normally find in beach were put here. The second one is for institutional display, with four members, we took inspiration from “Maleficent”, a Disney movie that tells a story about the twist of Aurora fairytale. The visual display was about Maleficent is carefully watching Aurora from behind without Aurora knowing, that is why Maleficent is captured as a shadow. Every project has a mini version or it can be called as a mock-up.

PRIVATE LABEL MANAGEMENT

Private label management is a subject that emphasize on making the right fashion item and creating vendor’s guidelines book for brand’s production. A right measurement and right quality of a fashion item is very important, that is why we learnt in this subject the requirements for producing merchandise. For this subject, my group created Roseate, a semi-formal womenswear Indonesian-based label that focuses on bold and bright colors.

LOGO PHILOSOPHY The idea was started when four young La Salle students, Jayavianti Dayanasari, Hanani Marha Luthfina, Marissa Jessica Bird, and Trishia Christia K in 2014, decided to create an Indonesia-based fashion label. Derived from their personal sense of style, they wanted to make women feel passionate and confident about themselves. Those needs are defined start from fabric, design, colors, until the silhouette. LOGO PHILOSOPHY The name Roseate derived from English word means bright, colorful, optimistic, sunny, clear, and fine. We chose English words because it is a very universal language, yet the brand name itself is very unique. We are using black and white color as our color scheme of our logo because it is representing a modern and international look, intended to everyone. To enhance the brand personality, we chose a very bold wording as our signature.

For the final touch, I took business portfolio subject in my last semester. Suit with the name, I did my own business portfolio for this subject plus a magazine and fashion articles. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, and Adobe Illustrator took a crucial part in creating a very good portfolio for this subject. Portfolio book, business card, and outside packaging are the things that can be seen in here. MAGNA means magnificent or great in Latin. It is not enough to be good, it should be great or magnificent. The other reason it is a catchy and short name for magazine / easy to say. MAGNA is a fashion and style magazine which aims for Asian market. What makes it special is the rarity, you can not easily find fashion magazine that are specialized for Asian region. It is Asian magazine but with international layout or design. But, people can buy my magazine with affordable price. I want people to buy with satisfaction, that they can get the best value of their money. The size is B5, the reason is because nowadays people like bringing tablet, B5 size is the most similar size of tablet. Basically, the idea of this magazine is to become an inspiration for all Asian in the world that you can go big. That is why in every edition features Asian people who already fly their wings to international world. Though we are Asian, we can rock the world !

With just ten weeks, as a group of three, we created a brand completed with the business plan along with the technical pack and the products that reached up to 100 pieces. I did my own technical drawing for this brand. De Mion is local brand for men based in Jakarta, Indonesia established in September 2014. De Mion aims 18 – 35 years old male with active social life and explorer attitude. Through De Mion, we hope that each man can elevate their image through our products by producing specialized shirts with fresh designs and masculinity. We also sell our products in Fashion Bloom and had one of the highest crowds as well as sales.

De Mion was established by Trishia Christia K, Gabriella Virilga, and Muhammad Dino Wahyu Utomo in September 2014. Their interests in fashion for casual work wear are the bond in uniting these individuals to run a fashion business together. The idea is to provide career men fashionable attire that could help them in their career achievement. From day to night, we are ready to give our customers classy looks to accompany their days. “De” derives from a France word means “from”, while “Mion” comes from an Irish word means “detail”. These two words and meanings are chosen to represent the essence of the brand. We are taking inspiration from detail and implement those details to our products. The font we chose is semi bold and reflects a classy feel and image to our brand. INTERNSHIP II

I took my second internship in my last semester and worked as a graphic designer in advertising & promotion department for PT. Karyamitra Budisentosa. PT. Karyamitra Budisentosa is a local company that held licensed shoes brands, such as Rotelli, Gosh, and Bellagio. I was responsible of making any needs of designs for the shoes brands, mostly for Bellagio. POP (Point of Purchase), banner, congratulations card, and questionnaire were the things that I have designed for them. Not forget to mention that I took photos for the editing design and also for social media.
