We needed an engraver that was quick, user-friendly and reliable for personalizing dentures for our patients. We did some research and found videos on YouTube of the Rayjet, it seemed to be the best fit for our needs. We use it for marketing and promotional products as well, we engrave: mugs, pens, flasks, giveaways, you name it we’ve done it! We use our Rayjet from 2 to sometimes as much as 10 times in one day, it’s a quick switch ‘ON’ and we’re ready to go - it really saves a lot of time in preparation. We purchased our laser about 4 years ago, initially it was a big investment for us as a new clinic, however we’ve got a full return on our investment in less than 6 months!

We’re one of Toronto’s next big tourist attractions, a vast miniature world that would feature scenes of Canada. We take the designs of our exhibits from an urban planning perspective right down to the architectural design. One of the things that was instrumental in making our miniature city look so spectacular was our Speedy 100. One of the key components we realized when starting our project was that we needed a machine that would be able to quickly create all sorts of interesting designs out of wood and plastic. We use the machine to cut, engrave and etch. The Speedy 100 is one of our biggest and best tools. From using the laser it became very apparent that we would ask ourselves not ‘what tool do we need to use to make this building’ but ‘how can we make this building on a laser’.

We’ve been in business since 2004, we are a precision machining facility focusing on the mold industry. We’ve had our Speedy 300 flexx for over 5 years and we use it for marking and engraving part numbers and identification on the parts that we manufacture. Before the laser we used to use a pneumatic pen engraver which was slow and cumbersome to use. The laser allowed us to speed up the process of the engraving and become more efficient by utilizing fixtures and allowing the operator to load and unload parts more effectively. The implementation of the laser increased our productivity 4 to 5 times, it was definitely a good purchase and it paid itself off multiple times by now. We use both the CO2 and the Fiber laser depending on the application. The Fiber is used for stainless steel and aluminum, while the CO2 is used for different types of plastics. We’ve been very satisfied with Trotec.

I have a cabinet shop where I make neat stuff, I make everything out of wood. I sell all over the world, online, out of my gallery, as well as in shows. I was doing some lettering with my CNC machine, it was working out okay, and then I thought about getting a laser because I knew the potential of what it can do. After purchasing my Trotec I stopped using my CNC for lettering and words because the laser was just so much easier and it really improved my product. I like the Trotec because of JobControl, it’s very easy to use with a fast learning curve. I also love the z-axis feature because I do a lot of leveling where I engrave an object on one level then I set the laser to drop the table automatically to focus on another level of the same object. It works really well for my products.

We’ve had our SP 500 since 2009. We do short-run manufacturing, movie props, and brand environments. I like the laser because it’s very easy to use, you can take files from most applications and enter them right into JobControl. I’ve taught half a dozen people how to use it relatively quickly, training is mostly how to use digital design software, and I always tell people the laser operates just like a standard inkjet printer. There’s a few different things you have to get right, but for the most part it’s a very easy tool to use, and it gives you perfect results. What I like most about the SP 500 is the quality of the work that comes out of the machine. I’ve used a lot of different laser cutters in the past and the Trotec outperforms them in quality every single time. I think there are a lot of lasers out there that are geared more towards cutting as opposed to engraving. The SP 500 that I have does a great job of both.

We specialize in large format digital printing as well as acrylic fabrication. The SP 3000, being our latest acquisition, has certainly given us a big advantage in the industry with respect to cutting large-sized acrylics without polishing the edges. Certain materials can only be cut on the laser, and we’re taking full advantage of that. One of the nice features I’m finding with the SP 3000 is that I can take out the cuts right off the laser, wrap them up, package them and send them to the client. The clean up is extremely minimal, especially in the world of high-speed high-production environment like ours. Anyone that’s ever touched a traditional X/Y cutter, such as a router or a knife cutter, knows there’s always some form of clean-up or inspection that needs to be done. With the laser we get a lot better detail than the traditional cutters. Anyone that’s ever worked in the acrylic cutting world knows that the laser is the best tool for acrylic because of the flame-polished edges.

Flexx Technology™
InPack Technology™
Rotary Attachment
The Flexx Technology™ is the centerpiece of the Speedy series. With it, CO2 and fiber laser can alternately be activated in only one laser machine. Mark and engrave virtually anything.
Trotec lasers are designed to protect sensitive components, such as the axis, laser head, optics and lenses from dirt and dust by the InPack Technology™.
Plug & play rotary attachment permits engraving of cylindrical, conical or spherical objects such as glassware, trophies, mugs or bottles.
Sonar technology™
Front-Access
CeramiCore®
There is no need to use a focus tool. With one press of a button, an ultrasonic based sensor on the laser head detects the surface of your work piece. The focal point is calculated automatically and the Z-axis moves in the appropriate position.
The Speedy 360 and 400 work entirely without any front struts, which ensures easy and ergonomic access to the engraving compartment. Load large and heavy parts with ease.
The innovative and patented laser source concept stands for reliability, high engraving quality and longevity. The resonator body where the laser radiation is generated is made of 100% ceramic, very unique in the industry.
Laser Pointer
Pass-Through
Air Assist
A laser beam is invisible. This is why our machines come with an integrated laser pointer. It indicates, by a red dot, where exactly the beam of the laser machine will hit the material. This enables you to precisely position your work pieces.
For the Speedy 400 and SP 500, by using the pass-through you can engrave or cut very long and bulky parts. It’s possible to work on materials and workpieces that exceed the actual size of the machine.
During laser engraving and cutting, the supply of compressed air can significantly influence and improve the results. Furthermore, Air Assist protects the lens against damage as it prevents dust from adhering to it.

The rotary attachement is required for laser engraving round, cylindrical and conical objects, such as glasses or bottles. When the rotary attachment is inserted in the laser engraving machine, the movement of the axis in y-direction is replaced by a rotary movement. The Trotec JobControl software will provide you full support during this process. Simply enable the rotary attachment in the printer driver and enter the object diameter and the graphic will be adapted

Multifunctional Tables The multifunctional table concept allows for optimal configuration for all engraving and cutting applications. Depending on the application the ideal table can be selected and changed quickly and easily.
Acrylic Slat Cutting
Vacuum Table
Honeycomb Table
The cutting table with acrylic lamellas prevents reflection during cutting. This table is particularly used for cutting thicker materials (5/16” thickness) and for parts wider than 4”. The number of supporting points can be reduced by removing some of the lamellas individually, depending on the job.
Fixes various materials to the working table using a light vacuum. This ensures correct focusing over the entire surface. Perfect for thin and light weight materials, such as paper, foils and films, that generally do not lay flat on the surface.
The honeycomb table top is especially suitable for applications that require minimal back reflections and optimum flatness of the material, for example the cutting of membrane switches. The honeycomb table top is recommended in use with a vacuum table.

Speedy 400
The special acrylic grid prevents back reflection. It is therefore ideal for cutting acrylics, laminates or plastic films with parts smaller than 4”, as these remain in a flat position after the cut
Speedy 360
This cutting table is the perfect solution for all general cutting. It is suitable for a variety of cutting tasks with parts smaller than 4”, as these remain in a flat position after the cut.
Speedy 300
The ferromagnetic construction allows to mount thin materials such as paper, films or foils with magnets to ensure an even and flat surface. An even working table is essential for achieving optimal results for laser engraving and marking applications.

Lens
Speedy 100
The best results in engraving or cutting are achieved by using specific lenses. This works in the same way as a camera that uses different lenses for close-up and wide angle photographs. The various lenses differ by their respective focal distances. This is the distance from the lens to the focus of the object being engraved/cut. The focus, in turn, is the smallest beam diameter hitting the material. A focal distance of 2 inches, for example, means that the maximum intensity is reached when the work piece surface that is to be cut or engraved is positioned 2 inches underneath the lens.

How to choose the right focus lens The decision on what lens to use depends on a number of factors: laser power, type of material, degree of detail and resolution of the graphic (dpi), thickness of the material. Generally, the greater the detail of the graphic being engraved, the smaller the lens size needs to be applied. Consequently, the thicker the material for cutting, the larger lens size needs to be applied. Also, for curved and uneven objects, a large lens size will result in better quality engraving.
Lens
Area of use engraving / marking
1.5” CO2

We’re a trophy manufacturer and supplier to the award and promotional product industry. We supply parts and decorating services. We found the SpeedMarker 300 laser a very efficient way to mark our products. We mark some unconventional products like pewter signs that have normally been diamond engraved. The laser process is quick and efficient, and produces a very nice mark. We also do silver trays and we mark outside products for people who are importing things like stainless steel mugs or producing stainless steel parts for machines and tool manufacturing. One of the nice things about the SpeedMarker 300 is that it plugs into a regular wall socket, it doesn’t require chillers or any special voltage. I highly recommend this laser, it increased our production, it saved us a lot of money, and paid for itself over and over again.

We’re the only custom decorator of glassware and ceramics east of Montreal. We do specialized screen printing process where we utilize an ink that has little particles of glass in them. We’ve purchased the SpeedMarker CL to enhance our product line by offering a nucleation point inside our glassware. It’s basically a laser score at the bottom of the glass, usually a logo, which will carbonate the product and release CO2. The CO2 will release the flavour of the beer and create a constant head on the top of the beer. What this does is trap the flavours within the beer to make to product more desirable. With the versatility of the SpeedMarker CL, we’ve actually branched off to different wooden bar products like flight boards and trays with our customers’ logos on them. The CL is truly an amazing product to work with!

Galvo Lasers Features
Focus Finder
Positioning Laser
Z - Axis
The focus finder makes focusing the laser considerably easier. With a second pilot laser, you can accurately determine the correct working distance without any tools, ensuring precise laser marking and saving time during preparation.
The built-in positioning laser allows you to align your work materials quickly and easily. It pinpoints the position of the marking precisely as well as the edges of the work piece.
With the z-axis height adjustment, you can alter your laser marking to different work piece heights. Laser focusing will thus be successful for any application.
Motorized Lift Door
Smart Adjust Camera System
Galvo Rotary
The motorized lift door for the SpeedMarker 700 and 1300 saves time during preparation and ensures a high degree of safety for the operator. Thanks to the integrated laser protection glass, you can monitor the components that are being marked.
A camera assisted positioning tool for precise laser marking of components. The HD camera shows a live image of the marking area within the user surface of SpeedMark. The user can easily position the text with “drag & drop directly on the work piece.
The galvo rotary allows for engraving and marking of drinking glasses, bottles and tumblers. The user can engrave the inside of rings and general cylindrical and conical objects.
Auto-start function
Pass-through
System Integration
You can regulate the laser machine to start marking after each job. This function works either with closing the housing (SpeedMarker 300) or pressing the autostart button (SpeedMarker 700 and SpeedMarker 1300). This saves time and money in between jobs.
Even if most of the parts may be small and handy, there might be big and bulky parts from time to time. You can choose the pass-through option for your the SpeedMarker/ProMarker 300. This makes the machine laser class 4 for that particular job, but offers more flexibility.
Trotec galvo lasers can be optimally adapted to your work processes and materials. For integration into existing systems, our marking lasers are equipped with several 24V inputs and outputs. In addition, up to four additional directly controllable axes can be connected.

MOPA
Reproduceable colours on stainless steel
High-contrast laser marking on dark plastic
Black and shading laser marked aluminium plates
More possibilities for marking metals and plastics Expand your possibilities when marking metals and plastics. With the MOPA laser, you can also mark plastics with higher contrast which gives more legible results, mark (anodized) aluminum in black or create reproducible colours on steel. In addition, you can produce qualitatively equivalent markings with the MOPA laser often faster than with the conventional fiber laser. With the MOPA laser, the pulse durations can be set to predefined values between 4 and 200 ns. The MOPA laser is one of the most flexible lasers on the market and can be used for many applications: With respect to pulse duration, it can simulate the properties of conventional fiber lasers (relatively long pulses) and those of classical solid state lasers (relatively short pulses) such as Nd:YAG or Nd:YVO4 (vanadate).
Advantages of the MOPA laser For short pulses and lower pulse energy, the material is heated less and the area of the heat affected zone is reduced. This results in more advantages and possibilities for laser marking metals and plastics:
• Less burning/melting in the edge area of metal engravings • Less heat development during annealing markings on metal, which leads to a better corrosion behavior • Controlled melting of plastics • Less foaming with plastics • More homogeneous and sometimes highercontrast markings on some plastics
MOPA is available in the SpeedMarker series
