Respite Weekends 2016 Enjoy a relaxing and fun “home away from home� with our respite program. Participants interact with friends and try stimulating activities, while their family members and caregivers have a break from daily demands. Our unique setting offers classic camp activities and new experiences. In 2016, each weekend will have a theme. Choose a weekend that feels familiar, or traverse the unknown. Look for new adventures in music, dancing, biking, hiking, sports, games, cooking and more.

Who can participate? Individuals ages five and up with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, autism or on the autism spectrum, cerebral palsy, physical, or other disabilities are welcome to attend. We offer services at 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and higher care ratios. All applicants are screened by our respite department for appropriate placement.
What should I expect? True Friends staff provide support, encouragement, guidance and supervision to ensure respite participants have a safe and meaningful experience. Qualified food service professionals can prepare meals and work to match special diet needs. Please contact our respite department to determine if we can meet specific diets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are provided. Many of our staff are human service professionals, or studying toward their degree. We work to match our participants to staff to enhance each person’s experience. Our health care staff are trained medical professionals or studying toward their degree as well. They are trained in medication administration, assistance with medical equipment for meals and numerous medical devices.

Weekend Schedule Check in Friday from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Check out Sunday from Noon- 12:30 p.m. Daily respite is available on Saturday. Please call for details.
Rates and payment options The respite rate is $672 per respite weekend. Waiver payments from the Brain Injury (BI), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI) and Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) waivers, county pay funds and private payments are accepted. Please contact our office and ask for respite registration.
Registration process The early registration deadline is Nov. 10, 2015. Early registration is the key to securing your preferred respite weekends! There are capacity limits for each care ratio for each weekend. Please understand that many families register for respite for the entire year, so spots fill quickly.
