True Friends 2017 Annual Report to the Community

Building Community Dear Friends, True Friends was founded to serve individuals with disabilities. To not only serve them, but to provide children and adults of all ages and abilities the opportunity for experiences and adventures outside of their day-to-day lives. Guided by our history, we are continually building our community year-after-year by seeking new ways and refining past initiatives to truly enhance the opportunities we provide. What a year 2017 was for True Friends. In this report you will see just a snapshot of what True Friends has accomplished in 2017; there is so much more. John LeBlanc President & CEO

Overall we served 23,518 individuals through all our programs; over 2,000 served through out our core programs. We built and opened the Berglund Center at Camp Eden Wood in Eden Prairie. This state-of-the-art building now allows us to serve more individuals through camping and respite services at a location that is in the backyard of the Twin Cities metro area. At the end of 2017, Ed Stracke stepped down as President & CEO of True Friends. He will continue on with his great legacy as an advocate for the organization.

Mission: Provide life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities.

Now as I step into a new role, as President & CEO of True Friends, I am committed to our mission, while looking toward the incredible future we have ahead of us. Thank you for supporting our mission to create experiences and adventures for individuals with disabilities.

In Friendship,

Vision: A world where experiences and adventures are open to individuals of all abilities.

John LeBlanc

$1.4 million was raised to build the new Berglund Center at Camp Eden Wood. We hosted the grand opening of the Berglund Center at Camp Eden Wood in Eden Prairie. This 6,000 square foot facility became a reality largely due to two $500,000 gifts from The R.R.W. & Florence Berglund Family Foundation and The Margaret A. Cargill Foundation. The Berglund Center will enhance the programs and services we provide to our current and future clients and their families. This state-of-the-art facility offers a single location that features program areas, a multi-sensory room, a health center, a great room and multiple bedrooms.
