Dominica : Creole Day
Dominica celebrated its 44th anniversary of Independence on November 3, 2022, however cultural events took place from the beginning of October to kick off the Independence season. Nationals are expected to wear anything Creole on each Friday during the month of October. Our Country Manager Earl Edwards would normally be dressed in his madras shirt.
One of the highlights of Dominica’s Independence season is Creole Day (Jounen Kweyol) which is observed on the last Friday in October. Everyone is encouraged to dress in National wear or variations of the National wear, eat local dishes and for those who can speak patois, to do so. Creole Day is the day when our culture truly comes alive.
